I live in Canada, and I really only play badminton on my school team and with friends. But my school right now, is not doing too badly overall.

So far I'm undefeated in mixed and doubles...but it's only JV =(. My school's doing pretty well also. In tourneys though, there are some pretty pro teams

I almost made it to finals last year in the school division but I got defeated by a girl..boo.
I always mess up when I play doubles bcuz i don't know when to change positions.
When do you change positions when you play doubles? and who serves when?

its called doubles rotation
when you start out the game
you are serving and ur partner is in the back
if your partner clears or lifts, you go side to side
for defense
but if they smash or drop, you go to the front
while the partner stays in the back
Same thing when your partner is serving
you are in the back, she is in the front
you lift or clear, split
if you smash or drop, stay in the back
Or for mixed, the girl just stays in the front
easy as pie
For serving 15 style, automatically, the person on the
right starts off
if you are serving first, you do not get a second serve
but if you serve later, you get 2 served and the person on the right serves
For 21 style
first server starts on right
but if they mess up the other person gets a point and the person
on the left starts
odd-left server
even-right server
You only get one serve
PM me if you have any more questions
or if you want a clarification

LOL...i played doubles in grade 7...we were horrible because my partner didn't know anything about badminton...*strategy wise*.
In grade 8, I choose mixed doubles....I stayed at the back. We we're 2nd in the tournament, only lost one game...to someone we played before, that we won too.
We we're either 3rd or 4th in play offs....They didn't announce it to us.
And this year I'm doing mixed again because it came out smoothly last year.

I started playing this year and it's really fun and I'm improving quickly.

I hope to play singles in matches, I'm pretty noob at doubles. >_< Not good at communicating with my partners. I only work well with one of my friends in tennis, but she doesn't play badminton. TT

my favorite sport! i try to play once a week, nothing serious just doubles with a few friends. used to be in my uni badminton club and got asked to play for the team once!
i've been wanting to get a new racket for ages now, but can never decide on 1, the yonex range is pretty dam expensive too.
