VIDEO COMMENT

This is the first time I am doing this...Last night, a couple of us had an interesting discussion online about the new Beautiful You PV. Personally, I thought the director was brilliant. This is the feeling I got from it:

...Somehow the feeling of illicit/forbidden affair (which may be due to Yoochun sitting on a bed with his shirt open? LOL)

...A woman who has left them.

This is the interesting bit. You can see it as a woman who has left but my initial feeling watching that video was "There seems to be a woman missing in each of their own scenes." You can see glimpses of 5 different women but yet when it comes to their own scene, the director leave you wondering "Where is she?" in each scene. It feels like time is passing and they are all waiting for someone.

And I don't know if this was done on purpose...but it kinda invites the watcher to imagine the woman and that's very powerful. The story in the video looks a little incomplete but that gives you room to imagine the rest. And knowing us fangirls, wouldn't you love to be saying "Oh yes I know why the woman's missing! She's right here!" *points to ownself* LOL The video provokes imagery which I never quite had with other videos and that's what I felt was brilliant about it. It invites you to imagine.

I am totally digging the mature image. Changmin goes really well with the couch

He looked so manly in this video!

Yunho looked kinda pretty and I notice whenever his expression goes soft, he looks a lot like a pretty girl BUT his expression makes me touch touch his face lovingly kinda thing HAHAHA

I notice it's always Yoochun who bares his body? That image hmm spurred some imagery which shall not be mentioned here *evil grin*

I thought Jaejoong's expressions in this video was really good...a little different from his perfect face in his usual videos. It's like I can feel more angst when he looks down and the look of pining feels more real too.

As for Junsu, I feel like sitting next to him or just kneeling in front of his face and....well shall not mention too hahaha

Overall, the video felt a little incomplete but I thought that was quite a brilliant move actually and the song is excellent! Stylish and different...one of my fav songs from them so far

I was so happy when I found out that there was an official third TVXQ Thread! DBSK has really risen on top!

I read the APRIL FOOLS JOKE! I was so happy when I read it! (Please don't kill me

) I don't know why I was happy but Micky being a father is a very good thing

. But it turned out fake. Besides, ONE DAY- all of DBSK will marry sooner or later and have kids of their own.

I thought that was a great PV. Although, I prefer Purple Line. YunHo looked very pretty when looking at himself. Usually, I would think of JaeJoong doing a mirror scene but it turns out to be YunHo.

If Beautiful You came out as a PV, then does that mean they will have a full music video on it later?

when i saw the preview i had a feeling it won't be so appealing, and i was right. '___'
not to be offensive to anyone, but this mv...
albeit being "mysterious" regarding the woman and the boys are extremely hot (YUNHOMYGOD)
it has no storyline and the tone is not very attractive.
it's kind of dull throughout the whole vid. and it gives me feeling that the editor edited this vid without paying attention to the music
the chorus has no impact, imagery and film wise, even changmin's part at the end (gah, love)

yunho is chubby and i died when i saw his picture, but gah, besides him... the others luk sumwut bland
i no joongie's hot (his face... @_@), su was worth drooling for, minnie luks soooo mature, and chunnie *bleah*
but wtfrik, they did nothing =_=...
joongie luks like the part where he's in My Destiny, and like everyone else said, the faucet luks like asu mv.

i remembered my friends told me there will be kissing scenes in Beautiful You, haha...it scares me when i was watching the video. lol.

Yoochun and bed = perfect match.

but there are some randoms i dun understand like why suddenly a man playing guitar pops out for 1 second or so and never appear again?

I've just been lurking for a few days but I want to thank all those who have been providing fan cams of the T concert. I can't wait to watch the DVD of this concert. It seems like they are really more comfortable now in Japan. They are really having fun with the songs and doing more ad libs during the performance.

I can't wait to watch the Beautiful You PV. I had been reading all of the comments and I would really like to see if it indeed showed a more mature side to TVXQ. I think it's high time for them to really do serious and dramatic looking PVs. Not all songs should have explosive PVs. Sometimes those PVs that are so in your face are just too much.

Again, reminder to everyone. Please visit the Pops in Seoul site in Arirang TV and please vote for Purple Line. I always watch Pops in Seoul because it's my only link to timely Kpop news when I'm at home since it is in English and I always get excited whenever they have news of TVXQ or would show their Koran PVs. I had been waiting for Isak to say that Purple Line is in the top 10 but every week I get disappointed. I hope that all of us can vote and do something about this. I'm sick and tired of hearing Big Bang and SNSD in the Pops in Seoul chart.

As an English major... you're taught to read into things... and well, I can't help but think that this PV is an excellent example of METONYMY. Metonymy is when part of something is used to represent the whole. (Ex. "all hands on deck" doesn't literally mean hands on the shipdeck, but the hands imply the whole person, or people on deck.)

pinkshades, i applaud you for such a description and analysis. I guess I share your enthusiasm with this video.

it's quite disappointing to read that a lot were a bit disappointed. some even said that the PV has no story or plot. I thought the story [even without understanding the lyrics] was very amplified. yeah, some of the scenes were quiet similar to their old PVs; but in comparison to the likes of Asu wa kuru kara, Beautiful You actually had a background story.

Maybe some of you are expecting some kind of an "oomph"; but for me, it's just right there. And, if this is what Avex and Toho have to offer despite tight schedule, what more if they've got all the time in the world?!

[i hope i'm not simply spazzing cause everything Avex does lately is impressing me!]

^ As much as I do love description also, I feel as though the director is somewhat overestimating the fans if they feel as though everyone will interpret that way. Especially to gain new fans I would not find this very intriguing to watch while flipping channels.

There maybe an idea behind it but admittedly I still find it kind of dull. They should have shown the same things with them interacting with the girls. Maybe scenes where they were just having fun like cleaning dishes (doesn't matter), but they could have still not shown the face. Not cut it out at a weird angle but even just the back of her head is only shown. I mean washing your hands and showing feet do not really evoke an emotion. That is why I didn't really like plot personally, because I felt no attachment to the video.

I actually had that happen... and with Micky too! LOL He knows how to convert girls. No I used to just like Jaejoong alot but slowly I found myself watching more Micky clips and seeking out more information about him. At first I was wandering what happened to Jaejoong, but I think it just has to do with finding out more information about that boys. I still love Jaejoong but as I continue to learn things I find Micky to be really sweet.

Obviously there are characteristics that we like in each of them but for some reason this person has stood out for you. I think this is even a progression into becoming I guess.. closer... in a sense to the boys as we can move on from our favourite and really get to see the beauty in each one. Also something needs to be attributed to the fact that our tastes change. As we grow older or just experience things in our life we may feel closer to one boy over the other.

I do not see why it matters as long as you love each one & you do. <3

I fall in love with each member at different times, like JJ in Sky, Changmin in Choosey Lover, Junsu in Summer Dream, Yunho in Forever Love, Yuchun in this Beautiful You PV. These are only a few examples, whenever each member does something cute, or sexy, or charismatic, or moving, I fall in love with them a bit more. JJ used to be my favourite, but now I just can't pick.

JJ has a beautiful voice, especially for ballads, I love watching his beautiful face and listening to his heavenly singing. His warm heart and quirky humour make me all gooey inside, and love him ever so much more for it. His forgiving nature even through adversity make me so proud!

Yunho looks fantastic dancing on the stage, he has this mesmorising power over the audience. I fall in love with him everytime I see him dance, and falls again when he belts out a powerful high note. How can anyone not fall for his love and dedication toward this group?!

Yoochun has the most fascinating air about him, he is elegant yet street-smart, angel-like yet devillish, prone to laughter yet incredibly lonely looking at times, he is an enigma. When he bares his soul with that husky voice I am lost, when he cries and laughs I am doing the same with him.

Junsu led me into DBSK fandom, his voice won me over in a flash, Beautiful Thing is still one of my favourite songs ever. When I first saw him smile, may I say that I was drowned in his gorgeousness, he is a true angel in mind and soul. I love him even more when he performs.

Changmin had me going gah-gah over his red woollen jumper and kitten playing ways right from the start, how can he look so adorable and attractive, and have that amazing voice range! Life is not fair heheh! Yet he is even more handsome now, and improving his singing too, I love you Changmin!

See, how can I ever choose between these 5 diverse yet equally brilliant young men, you might as well ask me to choose between my parents lol.

At the moment though major Love for Yoochun, OMG the bare chest and stomach is just killing me, even his hair looks good! JJ looks gorgeous, his style of singing changed to suit this song, I was pleasantly surprised, weird last bit of acting though. Yunho is not wearing much, bonus points for him haha, also weird acting bits, but he looks too good for it to matter. Junsu looks almost charismatic at times lol, his moves and singing are just perfect! Changmin looks handsome! What's with this growing into his skin so nicely, I can't take my eyes off him. Nice ad-libs, though Changmin's sounded a bit forced in a couple of places.

Beautiful You, My first time seeing the PV and hearing the song, um the song grew on me half way through, but at the moment its not one of my favs, though it was great to hear them sing to guitar adding a very mature vibe to it and it has a very mild Latin feel,though i feel Yuchun would have done this song more justice,this song despratly needed Yuchuns voice, though its good I think the song lacks something,though i have to say Junsu's vocal was amazing.

The Pv, the dance routine is disapointing, its like there dancing to Summer dream i think they could have done with a more sexy dance routine or none at all for this song, the video reminds me of My destiny, Yuchun!

WOW he looked *drools on keyboard*, he looked so masculine and powerful, black silk and those abs*dies*, and Yunho looks incredible, I love his hair, Yunnie and Chunnie definatly steal the show in this, the PV, is LQ at the mo and i think that is coarsing it to be so dark, Junsu faded away in this, they didn't even seem to be trying to give him any screen presence, he just looked board, same with Changmin, Jaejoong looked detached from everything, i remeber he seemed like that in My Destiny and this vid reminded me of my destiny and an exspensive mens perfume ad LOl!, Overall 7/10, Chunnie and Yunnie give this PV its highlights, its a travisty that Micky wasn't in it more,

, I think when i see it HQ it will be better, at least it wasn't a repeat of Lovin you, I felt that they had the vibe but didn't use it, this video could have been amazing, but alas, its a little disapointing.

Yup...I agree with u...the song got more interesting when it's YooChun's part cause he sounds so good with the sexy low voice but sadly it is very short..I'm disappointed sometimes that he don't have much opportunity to show his voice although he has improved a lot and his voice is stronger now like in the song 'Love in the Ice' and 'Forever Love'...His solo song 'One Last Cry' and 'My Girlfriend' sounds convincing too...in T album his part is so short in most of the song like in 'Trick' his line is only 'break a trick'...

Anyway, the Beautiful You PV is so good!! They all look so HOTT!!! The only thing that disrupts the hotness of all the guys is.....you guessed it! Yoochun's HAIR!
His blond tips are so not great!! I know people have been complaining about this, but still!! But aside from that, they all look hot!! Esp. Yunho~!!

Sorry, I have to add more to this post later~ My computer is probably going to turn itself off in a few minutes because apparently, a tornado is nearing the area where I live.

I am for some reason not worried or scared.

I actually didn't think much about the "showing only certain parts of the woman" thing until you mentioned it, but i agree.

Btw, PV means promotional video, but in Japan, PV is really the same thing as MV.

Im kinda new here and eventhough i been around for sometimes (but doing nothing) and it such a blessing to read all those great info u guys share here. Pergh! the thread moving too fast I barely catch up with the number. Within 24hours you people top-up about like 10pages?.... i guess Cassiopea just as great as our GOD Yunho, GOD Jaejoong, GOD Micky, GOD Junsu and GOD Changmin hehe.

Well some were dissapointed with the Beautiful You PV...well i think the Pv is unique and needless to said they look so cool and sexy. Wow they look mature and manly...

Dirtycash23: That actually happened to me once too. I'm a BIG Junsu fan & then after listening to a song Micky composed (don't remember which one

) i started looking for more pictures of Micky & watching more clips of him, and sooner or later Micky was my second biggest obsession. But i still love them all ! <3 But I'm back to Junsu now xD .

About the Beautiful You PV: I'm seriously IN LOVE with this song at the moment ! <33
The first time i watched the pv, i wasn't quite satisfied with it cause it really reminded me of their "My Destiny" with their dance, "Lovin' You" where they're either sitting or standing.. "Asu Wa Kuru Kara" because of the mirror.. & somehwat of "Forever Love" because of how they're singing about a girl & the girl has memories with all 5 of them. But after reading everyone's comments on it, i watched it again, and i liked it more and more each time ! (: I really like the way pinkshade described it ~ I have like nothing else to say, cause she said everything basically. At first, i didn't notice Yoochun wasn't like wearing a t-shirt underneath.. and that it was his chest xD But thank you guys for pointing it out ! =] I didn't really like yoochun's hair in this, but the bare chest made up for it x] . Changmin's voice is just too sexy ! <3 This really shows the mature side of DBSK. Jaejoong is hot as usual, Junsu and his charisma xD , Yoochun and his sexy chest

& Yunho and his manliness ! <33 haha. Even though i don't know what the lyrics mean, but from watching the pv a few times, to me, i think that the girl left them, and they were all waiting till 12 midnight for maybe her return to them, thats why it showed clocks/watches when the camera shows each member sitting or standing. The director of the pv, is awesome ~ It really gets people imagining/thinking. For those who don't understand the meaning of the lyrics, like me, will try to and think of what's happening to them in the pv. It seems like Jaejoong gave the same neckalace to her for her to remember him, Yunho looking in the mirror & touching the mirror, maybe because he sees her through the mirror, and trys to hold her.. Micky cause he had a night with her that's why we see his chest in the pv, & as for Junsu & Changmin is they're sitting there waiting for her return to them. I think that Yoochun's voice stood out in this song He should have had more lines to sing. Same goes for Yunho. This song features JJ's voice most. As much as i LOVE JJ, i think that Yoochun should have sung more in this song ! <3 But either way, they were ALL hot in this & the song is just smex ! <3 And the dance seems quite simple... The dance & their outfits for when they dance REALLY reminds me of My Destiny. The spinning and all.

And is the lyrics you're such a beautiful women or you're so so beautiful women? I'm not too sure, cause in the comments before people said you're so so beautiful women but i keep hearing you're such a beautiful women xD haha.

I just REALLY love this video and song. One of my favourites.
Even though the darkness and atmosphere is kind of like Forever Love and Lovin' You, I feel that this PV is so much more meaningful in a way. Lovin' You was poorly done in terms of its story and Forever Love was kinda slooow.
I think Jae did a really good job in this video.
His eyes really capture the emotions the song is trying to portray.

I haven't been up to date with DBSK lately. though I check their pictures and things regularly... But I didn't know that thye had a new single scheduled.. whatnot.

Anyway, I saw Beautiful You on youtube and ack! I haven't liked one of their Japanese PVs in a LOONG time.
I like the song. It's very... manly.. but still youthful. Like.. it's the melody of a 20something year old guy, in love and finally able to call a girl a woman.
ANd just they're all so super gorgeous in the PV. I like the dance sequence too.
I also like it because it's calmer than the other PVs they had...

I'm assuming the the HQ version is not out yet?

and when does the actual single get released?

Ringy said she felt no attachment and i understand but im waiting for lyric translations lol maybe it'll help me understand the plot like maybe her hands and the water running through has something to do with the lyrics and such but i do agree that maybe having more of the girl physically in the picture might help evoke more thought about it

In a world where a woman's beauty is identified most by her "looks" - ie. her face, the proportion of her body, her makeup - this PV is almost suggesting that what makes a woman beautiful are NOT the aesthetics, but just the little things... like the curve of your hand... the smoothness of your neck... the line of your feet... those simple things are what make a Beautiful Woman, not all that other stuff.

I totally agree with you on the PV though. it's so true about the views
on woman's beauty. DBSK makes the song seems so much more
than that ^^ it's almost painful, yet romantic. still can't get enough of
their hotness and beautiful voices... and your 2 cents just made the
PV even more enjoyable to watch =)

I didn't really have high expectations for the PV, which probably explains why I'm not as disappointed as other people.
But I'm actually liking the video more each time I watch it, lol. The boys look great, but that's nothing new. My favorite part of the PV was Yoochun's scene with him singing "You're such a beautiful you." Gah, it kills me everytime. It's quite sad that he doesn't have many lines here, because I think his voice really suits this song.

About the Beautiful You pv ... it was pretty good actually (: & I agree with pinkshades I really liked the whole concept of not showing the lady's face, but instead showing the simple little things. I love the song though(: It's sooo catchy. & well it's not like the boys had time to make a pv either .. they're like super busy with the 3rd live tour and stuff. Avex/SM seriously over work the boys to much -___-"
Aaah but Yoochun ... with just a blazer but no shirt under .. on a bed xD Oh man ... *Nose bleed* xD They look so mature & much more older (: I couldn't see the pv in any other way though ...but does anyone get the whole thing about the clock? Oh & about those pictures of Jae crying during (or after ?) the Love in the Ice Performance in Osaka was sooo heartbreaking yet warming at the same time. I mean it really showed how touch Jae was from the fans but at the same time ... he looked so sad
