Super Junior China becomes SJ-M



It is April 3rd in China and as promised Super Junior China is slowly being revealed, the first confirmed members to appear publicly: DongHae, Si Won and Henry attended SM’s visit to MIT.

Their first official album will be titled 迷(Me).

However one more change is being added to the subgroup. They are changing from the name SJC to SJM, with M standing for Mandarin. The official Blog for SJM can be found HERE

A rough translation on the site is basically just introducing why "M" and LSM's wishes for SJM to succeed and spread their music in china.

Me (迷) should be the name of their first album.

Correctly spelt, Mi (迷) means "to be crazy/fanatic about something".

They spelt it Me probably because it's easier for non-Chinese speaking fans to recognise the word since it's pronounced just like "me" in English.

As to why they did not stick with SJ-China, I guess SM is eyeing the whole Chinese-speaking community, and not just mainland China.

In chinese ge mi means fans and mi sounds like the english word me. So, I think the song is dedicated to the fans? I could be very wrong and my chinese isn't that great either.

I think changing their names to Suju-M shows that they're not only focusing on China but other Mandarin-speaking countries as well like Taiwan, Singapore & Hong Kong. China will probably be their main focus though then they'll spread out to the other countries that i mentioned. i know Hong Kong mainly speaks Canto but i'm pretty sure some can speak/understand Mandarin and the members can always learn some Canto. Singapore, i know, speaks Mandarin as well. Then, they also have Henry who speaks English which is a language a lot of people can understand and also, i read somewhere that one of henry's parents is Cantonese and the other one is Taiwanese, not sure which one is which. So i guess it kinda make sense if they do promotions in Taiwan and Hong Kong as well.

I really can't wait. they keep on postponing it. i just wanna know like right now!lol
