well, he can't. not really, anyway. his mandarin sounds fluent and he has no accent (well, he speaks taiwan mandarin, so i guess he has a flat accent), but he can't form complete sentences off the top of his head. like that one.. sina interview, in which he almost intro'd himself twice until someone, i think geng, cut him off. and the sohu one, the first one, he started off saying he was born in canada, but the way he structured the sentence made it difficult for him to finish.
i really wanna hear more of henry, though. i love his voice, and he's so squishy '~'

I agree with everything you said there. It's not that I dislike the guy for joining SJM - I support Henry + Super Junior after all - but there's something about him that bothers me. Like others, I'm trying to like him, but something about him puts me off. :S I mean, confidence is good, but too much isn't good. And for now, that's what it seems like. I love this interview! Ryeowook and Zhou Mi seem so close. Their blunders were so cute and Hangeng is so happy. After this I definately warmed up to Zhou Mi a lot. I think Henry(he's so cute) can listen and understand mandarin, however he definately can't speak it very well. It's kind of the same with me and cantonese. SIWONNIE! was hilarious, he is the king of facial expressions!!!!! When their album comes out I am definately buying a copy. SUJUM FIGHTING!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Henry is Taiwanese....So he seems to know more Manderin.

Well I know I am starting to feel split...Now I will always love Super Junior all 13 of them but the way things are going right now & how some ONLY13 fans are starting to act (not saying all just some) I'm really starting to just lean more into Super Junior-M..Just wish some ppl will just let it go. im not a Suju follower but i keep up with certain members.

but Suju M got my attention, first and foremost because of the new members. i mean, if you're doing sub-group of a group, you take out members from the group not add new members. but then, i felt pity for the two members when i was browsing some pics in baidu. this fan had caps of the group doing something -not sure- but both Henry's and ZhouMi's faces were blurred.

it was incredibly disrespectful of two ppl trying to fulfill a dream. just my take on it.

as for the MV, i like it better than the first one. no one stood out for me cause i think all of them were given spaces to shine. [well okay, i found donghae's rap completely worthy of drool. heehee]

oh, and im developing this "noona feeling" for Henry. like a big sister wanting him to be liked by ppl. dont know why.

I think some people are still not very accepting of ZM not because of his existance in sjm (we know that's SM's decision) anymore but more on his character. and not just his pre-debut rep as we all know people can change, but the CURRENT vibe that he is giving is not very good to some (me included). like i said before i'll try not to judge to quick but so far i don't feel attached to him. and about Henry, i think we can all agree from prev posts here that he is now quite well received by many even by some only13 fans.

but i don think it makes much sense to 'lean more on SJM' just because of it. the other suju members have nothing to do with this anyway. but if you choose to, it's your choice.

One subgroup caused Super Junior "fans" to split, how nice. What's so wrong about Henry and Zhoumi? It's not like they're in Super Junior. How ruthless can SJ "fans" be? Is it the end of the world that Henry and Zhoumi are singing together with members of SJ? Is it that bad that they're apart of their lives now? Where's the respect? How do these people think members of SUJU will feel when they find out that their beloved fans have settled to split up into two seperate groups just because of SJM? How disrespectful is this to HanGeng, Henry, and Zhoumi.

I feel so bad for Henry and Zhoumi. They didn't do anything to anyone, yet they're despised by so many SJ fans. They're only human...

i wanted to ask those who are familiar with cpop... what's the current trend there? what i mean is, well you know korean boybands usually perform lipsynch even for a live audience and this practice is accepted in korea. but how about in china? will our SUJU-M be able to make it even if they follow this lipsynch-trend? or will they have to step it up a notch?

about zhoumi.. it's understandable that people already like henry more than zhoumi because, well let's face it, zhoumi just debuted while henry has been 'known' since the Don't Don days. There's hardly any info about him except for some second-hand stories floating around that probably are just rumours. And besides, if we're going to give Zhoumi the same amount of time that henry had before being "loved" like how he is right now (ie. Don't Don days to these days) Zhoumi might find himself being loved too. The thing is, how can people say they don't like him already when everybody knows nothing about him yet? People shouldn't "hate" other people because they are strangers and neither should they believe what others say about him when there's nothing to back it up yet. And honestly, I find his confidence refreshing. The confidence builds up especially when you know you can prove it. Look at Hangeng, every dance he performs exudes confidence because he really has the talent and skill. Look at Henry, when he performs with his violin he also shows a remarkable amount of confidence. The only thing different with Zhoumi is that his talent is about speaking/hosting/MC-ing -- and that in itself is remarkable. Give him some time to warm up. And besides, even though he smiles like the Joker in Batman , doesn't mean he has the same personality as well.

lastly, does anyone here find it weird that there's still no sign of the album at the usual online stores when it's just a few days away from being released? correct me if i'm wrong but aren't the SUJU CDs usually set on pre-order before the date of release? sorry, just excited to get my copy like you guys. Wait a minute, doesn't SM usually have "repackaged version" almost right after the release of the original.. I wonder which one I should get... hmmm

The whole splitting of the "fans" thing is really over rated to me. I used to be in love with Super Junior, and I still like them and all but after the fact that ELF started to protest and ridicule Henry and such, I just quit. I found really cruel.
Henry was just trying to do what he wanted to, get his dream and the same goes for ZhouMi.
I understand that the ELVES didn't want more members to be added to Super Junior, but this wasn't even in Korea. This is in China. Super Junior is still Super Junior. Super Junior M is Super Junior M.

I really commend Henry and ZhouMi for sticking it out. Past all the hurtful things that the SuJu fans have said.
I remember during one of the Dont Don performances they chanted Only 13, that really hurt, even me. I saw no point in it.
I used to wonder what they expect them to do, just quit and let go of all of their hard work? Ridiculous.
What SM does SM will do, he'll get what he wants. As long as SJM doesn't hurt the activity of SJ, I don't really see a problem of it. I support Super Junior and Super Junior M. SJ 13 and SJM 7. They're two different' groups, the fact they share members, does it really matter?
If Super Junior still makes music, has concerts in Korea, why can't Geng, Hae, Wook, Kyu, and SiWon do the same in China?

Now that SJM has debuted I'm really excited and hope that all the fans that were against it can see that they're all really trying over there and can just accept it for how it is.
I really wish that all the ZhouMi hate would stop too. Henry had to go through it and it hurt him, why should ZhouMi have to go through the same?

Anyway thats just what I was thinking.

I guess it wasn't really the best choice of words on my part... And I see both sides on this issue. Of course I have my own opinions and I voice them where I think it's appropriate. (i.e. when I post here, I comment on SJM and I have never said anything that even remotely resembles hatred towards Zhoumi or Henry. I acknowledge they are part of SJM.

i just want to point out that clip in which zhoumi cried. i know some people are saying that he's doing it for attention and that it was really unnecessary 'cause the mc only asked about their good points, but try to understand how he's feeling. the mc asked (to henry and him) "what good points about yourselves do you think the fans will like?", and, honestly, he probably doesn't think he has any good points the fans will like 'cause he's already been trying so hard to get them to like him and all he's received are criticisms and attacks on his character. he doesn't know how to answer and that in itself would be heartbreaking to anyone.

Out of all the members of SJ M, Zhoumi is the only one I don't like. Although most people see this and immediately assume I'm bashing ZM, that is not true. There is a difference between not liking someone and actively disliking. I'm indifferent towards him. I've decided to reserve judgment since I'm not impressed with what he has shown so far, but he might have some awesome points we are unaware of at the moment. As for the crying, he had to know what he was going to face once it was announced that he would be part of SJ M, a group that has been receiving negative comments since they were announced. Having said that, I know that as people, it is sometimes hard to control our emotions, whether in public or private, so he should not be bashed for being vulnerable. However, if his crying becomes a regular occurrence, I can see how some people will take that as being 'fake'.

As far as the banners are concerned, I think that the whole point of being allowed banners to begin with, was to display our individualism and preferences. Therefore, people's banners will reflect what they believe in and care about, that's why there are banners supporting SJ M & banners supporting Only13. If I have a group, whether it be this one or any other, and only like three members out of five, I will have a banner with those three members, simple as that. It is unreasonable to want to force people to like all members. Even in Super Junior, there are fans who claim they only like one or three members, yet they are still allowed to post in forums.

This is to everyone, not just you. I cannot bring myself to hate people who are working hard to achieve their dreams, that is why I accept SJ M, but I cannot be forced to immediately love people I don't know. Getting to know the boys, seeing their personalities and their interaction with each other is what made me love SJ rather than just like their music. So I don't think it's unreasonable for me to take my time and decide for my own whether I like the new members. Not liking them does not make me a horrible person or a bad fan. I think Henry is the most adorable thing walking and crazy awesome with the violin. These are opinions I can reach on my own, thank you. I don't need anyone shoving them down my throat.

About Henry, he is officially considered as Cantonese because his dad is Cantonese, from Hong Kong. His mom is from Taiwan. I do not think his mom is a native Taiwanese though. Since his mom speaks Mandarin, it is not a surprise that he understands more Mandarin than Cantonese, since mixed-language families usually blend more to the mother's side.

From what it seems to me Henry understands Mandarin quite well, it's just that he is still unable to speak it fluently.




Considering that SJM is still promoting and Suju are done with their promotions, it's not a surprise that we have more people reading this thread, lol.

SJM just has two new members, and I think Henry will be the popular one. I understand why he's more likable that Ju Myuk. I guess cause when he appeared in Don't Don, he showed everyone his talent and people like him. And as of now, I think most people accepted him in SJM already. But as for Ju Myuk, I still feel he has ALOT of negative comments out there. But SJ is a popular group, and since SJM is official, I think eventually people will start to like Ju Myuk. SM has his ways of making people like their artist. For example, SNSD, before debut, antis antis antis. Especially Jessica. and they are girls too. Look at them now. I would say the most popular girl group in Korea as of now.
