Zhou Mi sang for Leehom while Leehom lip-synched?!

I know it's already posted...but!!! He was good enough to sing for Wang Leehom ?!!! Leehom is the second most popular Chinese artist, right after Jay Chou, and my personal favorite. Yay, Zhou Mi! Someone, please, tell me which concert it was that Zhou Mi sang for Leehom!

sidenote, if you can't understand Chinese, Zhou Mi said that due to Visa problems, at a concert 6 years ago, Leehom couldn't sing another song, so Zhou Mi sang it backstage while Leehom "sang" on the stage.

Also, to everyone who thinks Kissing You and Ai Ni Ai Ni are the same song... ^^; They sound similar in a way, but they really aren't the same song. I think the OP might have meant that jokingly? Iono. In any case, the writer's style might be the same, but the songs themselves are very very different. The melody is, in any case! That aside... if it was just a remake, wouldn't Ai Ni Ai Ni's Korean version have the lyrics to Kissing You? ^^;

Also, it says Lee JaeMyeong composed Ai Ni Ai Ni, but wrote lyrics to Kissing You -- and that Kwon YoonJeong wrote the original lyrics to Ai Ni Ai Ni, but composed Kissing You. ^^; If it was really the same song, shouldn't they match up...?

(Excuse me if I sound too harsh or excited, I just wanted to clear it up. Keep in mind that SM has a team of composers and lyricists who contribute to a number of SM artists' songs across the board.)

No but since people are mistaking that Leehom is lipsynching over Zhoumi's voice, there will be people (eventually) that will be assuming that Zhoumi and Leehom's voices are similar. And when Zhoumi was singing Leehom's song, he was imitating Leehom's voice.

According to what Zhoumi said, it wasn't a visa, but Leehom had a limit of songs that he had to sing according to a contract he had signed. Leehom couldn't sing anymore so Zhoumi took his place instead. Leehom didn't lipsynch over Zhoumi's voice, or however Zhoumi stated it.

V actually I'm not sure anymore. Zhoumi might not have been exaggerating?
Because according to what I remember of that fanmeet, there were certain lucky fans that got a chance to go on stage and performed Leehom's songs, with Leehom doing random accompaniment to the music. Zhoumi was one of them. He may have gotten a chance to go backstage and sang for Leehom. If that's the real case, the fans are probably aware of it because... 1) he already sang on stage and fans could probably recognize his voice + 2) his voice does not sound like Leehom's voice at all, even when he was trying to imitate his voice, lol.

Zhoumi said he sang backstage for Leehom because Leehom couldn't sing anymore songs due to some problems with a contract.
That didn't really make sense to me though. Leehom rarely lipsynchs, and when he does, its under some certain contract circumstances and it's always under his own voice, and never someone else's. Realistically if it is because of contract problems, Leehom wouldn't sing at all.

Zhoumi met Leehom in late 2004, which doesn't represent the year he started his training. I think Zhoumi was referring to ever since he started training, not ever since he met Leehom.

this whole leehom controversy..eek. let's hope it's just a misunderstanding. i haven't watched the interview myself yet, so i can't really comment. leehom's my favourite chinese artist, so he wouldn't do and i don't think zhoumi would...ahh bleh..i'm gonna stop now cuz there's no need to stir anything.

I, as a SNSD fan who listened to Kissing You first before Ai Ni Ai Ni was released, personally think that both of the songs completely different
When I listen to Ai Ni Ai Ni, it doesn't remind me of Kissing You at all, so doesn't the opposite
And when I tried to find the similarities between those songs when I read this, I still couldn't find it
I think Ai Ni Ai Ni sounds different with Kissing You, so does the opposite
Just IMO =)

just caught the sina interview, it was cute as all they're interviews are. but there was one part where i heard henry speaking ENGLISH to hae. i think he said "i'll tell you later", with that loverly accent of his.. did anybody else notice? i must've watched that part about 5 times, listening out for it and also watching hae's reaction.. it'd be awesome if they've been brushing up on english!! then china's not the only country they're gonna break into. maybe they'll pop by the little city/state that is singapore. we'll see. *crosses fingers*

I made a friend of mine translate what he said for me and this is what she said:

Zhou Mi said that a couple years ago he met Leehom during a concert and he sang for him backstage. He didn't say that he sang a song backstage while Lee hom lip-synced. Zhou Mi explained that because of Visa problems he had to shorten his set that's how he got to sing for Lee Hom.

Yeah I watched that and he definately was not lipsyncing nor was he backstage nor was Zhou Mi backstage although Lee Hom did leave while Zhou Mi was singing. And I highly doubt that ZM got to meet WLH another time. That being said Zhou Mi needs to watch what he is saying regardless if this is true or false WLH is one of the biggest stars in Asia. I can already feel a wave of antis.

In the interview I don't recall that he specifically said that WLH was lipsyncing. However he did say that he was backstage or behind a screen singing.
Also I think the two voices are completely different ZM voice is pretty high, while WLH has a deeper huskier voice.

Super Junior M Sina Interview Stir Up a Mini Rumor, Tuesday May 6, 2008 China



During a recent interview with Sina, Super Junior M Member Zhou Mi stated that he has once helped Singer Wang Lee Hom lip-synched at a concert a while ago.

According to Zhou Mi, 6 years ago, Wang Lee Hom had a visa problem and could not sing live, therefore Zhou Mi sang the song backstage and Lee Hom sang it on stage.

It is said that Zhou Mi had worded the situation wrong but Lee Hom fans are not buying it since they started attacking Zhou Mi just hours after the video was uploaded on the web. Meanwhile, ZHou Mi fans are counter attacking with insults towards Lee Hom for supposedly lip-synching.

So far there is no word from either artist or their companies.

Personally, I believe all those people making a big deal out of it are exaggerating. It was a misunderstanding a mistake whatever, get over it.

I don't like the fact that they started attacking Zhoumi w/out waiting for an explanation, which is plain absurd. Maturity wouldn't hurt.

And although I love Zhoumi and am proud to call myself a fan of his, I believe his fans also took on a strong approach to soon as well. But whatev, the first throw was already delivered, so I guess it's a reflex to throw another one back.
