Vampire Knight's Kanon Wakeshima to Sing in California



The Maru Music label has announced that visual-kei cellist/vocalist Kanon Wakeshima will travel to California for two July performances after her Otakon guest appearance. She will first perform and sign autographs at the Amoeba Music store in San Francisco on July 20. She will then travel to the Royal T Cafe in the Los Angeles suburb of Culver City to perform on the next day. Also on July 21, Royal T Cafe will hold an art exhibit for Wakeshima, who is known for her Gothic Lolita art and fashion sensibilities. Wakeshima's Shinshoku Dolce album debuted in the United States on Tuesday.

Wakeshima wrote and performed the "still doll" ending theme song for the television anime version of Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight manga. Wakeshima then contributed the "Suna no Oshiro" (Sand Castle) ending theme for the anime sequel, Vampire Knight Guilty. She also made a cameo in the first anime series by playing a maid in the eighth episode.

The Tainted Reality organizers are bringing the Japanese visual-kei rock band Suicide Ali to the Nekocon 2009 convention in Virginia Beach in November. The band will perform two concerts and hold autograph sessions during the November 6-8 event.

i forgot that she released her first album.. so today i remember and decided to preview her album.
and i absolutely love it. she did a wonderful job with the album. i can feel hints of mana-sama's style.
one of my favorite songs has got to be Kagami. it was beautifully done.

i want to go to her little music session in culver city!! but it'd be such a far drive for me..
would love to see her artwork and her performance.. i wonder how pack it'd be.

^I also went to her concert at Otakon, and she's absolutely brilliant live. I'm not really familiar with her music, but she sang around 6-7 songs. I'm guessing they are from her album. She talked to the audience in mostly English to give some bio about herself, though she had to read off a piece of paper. She has a very cute personality! I swear, just watching her made my eyes bleed sugar and rainbows. Definitely captured the audience's hearts. XD

Kanon was in Paris in early july, for the 10th Japanexpo... and I was there with my friend. She's very good on stage, we been only at the showcase, but she sang two songs and we got a little french speech. So cute, so good, incredibly good appearance ^^
