Cellist/vocalist makes American debut at July 17-19 event in BaltimoreThe Otakon convention has
announced that
Vampire Knight theme song cellist/vocalist Kanon Wakeshima will make her American debut at the July 17-19 event in Baltimore, Maryland. Wakeshima wrote and performed the "still doll" ending theme song for the television anime version of Matsuri Hino's
Vampire Knight manga. Wakeshima then
contributed the "Suna no Oshiro" (Sand Castle) ending theme for the anime sequel,
Vampire Knight Guilty. She also made a cameo in the first anime series by playing a maid in the eighth episode.
Wakeshima
was one of the performers at Tokyo's Individual Fashion Expo IV, the most recent installment of the largest Gothic Lolita (Goth-Loli) fashion show, last September. The event highlighted the connection between manga, anime, music, and Gothic Lolita fashion with Wakeshima's performance and a sneak preview of the anime adaptation of Yana Toboso's
Kuromini coopersuji manga.
