hey guys, do yall know any hip hop songs that appropriate for kids because I am a substitute teacher and sometime I try to get them to behave by playing music that they like while they work (which is hip hop for these kids today) but I have to find some lyrics appropriate songs because I have to follow the school district rules and don't want to get fire...the only song I have right now is
NAS- I know I can be <--- this song is SOOOOO good

I was just going to say I Can by Nas .. but since you know that song already .. try these:
Dilated Peoples-This Way
Lyricks-Deliver Me
Kanye West Feat. Jay-Z-Diamonds Are Forever (Remix)
Nelly-Heart of a Champion

I missed the bus- Kriss Kross

(Sorry I just HAD to suggest it)
Nothing current springs to my head other than one Lupe Fiasco song, I'd suggest looking at older hip-hop for more kid-friendly stuff. Also maybe some current RnB stuff might be permissible for kids like certain Chris Brown and Rhianna songs maybe?
Me, Myself and I- De La Soul
Go Baby- Lupe Fiasco
Boom! Shake the room- DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
A Little Samba- Ugly Duckling
Lost Ones- Lauryn Hill

there are loooots of songs lol...and you can always bleep out the swears and twist the meaning around a little if they imply it's about sex

hmm...a few i can name on the top of my head:
upgrade you - beyonce.
go - mario (it's about sex...but I have a version where they bleep out all the swears so you can't really tell what it's about)
elevator - florida ft. timbaland
hate that i love you - neyo + rhianna
because of you - neyo (again, about sex but it's very subtle)
apologize - timbaland (does this count as hiphop? o.o not really huh?)
i'll update later xD

Nas - Dance
Blue Scholars - Bayani
Lupe Fiasco - Superstar
Atmosphere - Sunshine (ok, the very beginning of this one talks about a hangover and there's one incidence of the a$$ word, but if you can find a version with that one spot edited it'd be a good, appropriate, feel-good one)

Lauryn Hill, Common, Lupe.
i tried common, but he have too much cursing and he uses the "N" word a lot, can't have that especially the district that I work for is majority Africans
since there not a lot of songs, i think the best solution is go and bleep out the bad words myself, does anybody know any software that lets you bleep out parts of a song? or does anybody knows how?
