hey i just recently got the G.O.D. the last concert on dvd. my o my does it kick ass! the ending is quite sad though. made me all teary =T

Jess; Yeah, need time to get used to this kind of Danny. I take long time to digest TaeWoo solo image. From what I saw, Joon regularly be a guest DJ in a radio program. Then he also become a good uncle to his nephew. This all based from the pictures. Went for his nephew kindergarten graduation and then send of his nephew to school. OMG.... Joon get married soon.

kyesang was a guest on ahn jaewook and cha taehyun's radio programme "Mr Radio" on 17 april and it was quite funny. cha taehyun was talking abt how kyesang has a lot of ahjumma and nuna fans becuz of his drama - even his wife thot that kyesang was hot. kyesang said that his nuna liked the show, and ahn jaewook was like, "ur nuna is an ahjumma!" kekekeke.

they also talked abt his fanmeeting in japan, and how japanese halmonis liked his "my sister-in-law is 19" drama. kekeke. and how when he was in the army, any girl wld look gorgeous to him. >.< when he was in the army, he used to host stuff and when he knew he had to meet a female, he wld take a shower twice, so that he wldn't smell. ah ha ha ha ha.

god 3rd album and HOT 5th album came out at around the same time but god outsold them. but also HOT was kinda dying anyway but i say teenage fans can't get you that far. shinhwa can't sell albums like god cause all they have are teenyboppers but when guh jit mal came out EVERYONE loved it they had so many ajuma fans so lots of record sales. they're for everyone not just little girls, thats what i like about them.

i can't believe people would compare him to someone else! i've alway like danny the most and i still do. he was hot then and he is hot now! can u post a picture of the guy that people compare him to? i hope he don't let the rude comments get to him or affect his work! do anyone know when is solo album and his movie or drama comes out? i'll be in seoul from august 2007 to december 2007! i hope to meet him while i am there!! GOD was one of the best band out there. they didn't rely on their good looks like some bands. i love super junior and all but they are mainly for looks not really talent (don't want to be mean). only some guys can actually sing well in the group.

yea.. exactly. god's music was for everyone to listen to especially for the older audience. I remember when they were being interviewed on what kind of music they want to make or sing, Joon said that god was a group making music that everyone can just listen on a regular basis. Little kids, teenyboppers, even old ladies and men, were/are the targeted audiences that they would like to appeal. So that's why there are songs like love, hope, friends, uncertainty ... issues that people can relate to. And yea, i think that's what made them really big .... because "guhjitmal" really REALLY made everyone hooked. Haha just look at the numbers!

Like, yea, shinhwa is popular, but i dont think they can gather all the teenagers in korea to buy their albums and sell a million copies. I like some of shinhwa's songs, but i dont think it's the type my mom would listen to. I'm not korean, but when i put on god's music like "gil" or "guhjitmal" my mom hums along. Haha

i don't really want to agree with you and tomjones, simply because i think you guys are borderline insulting the fanbase of both H.O.T and Shinhwa. personally, i am a fan of both Shinhwa and ji-oh-di [sorry, i refuse to use god], and i find what you both said slightly offensive. likewise, i also happen to like h.o.t's music and i don't see a problem in a being a fan of the three groups.

i do agree though that ji-oh-di's music does attract a wider scope of audience. their songs are in that sense more successful. but please be careful when you mention other groups' fanbase.

while ji-oh-di is a legend in that they are coined as korea's boyband, h.o.t left a legend that has started [arguably] the trend of kpop boy bands and advanced their popularity to other parts of asia, and shinhwa is a group that has been alive for so long that they are slowly becoming a legend on their own.

so, even if you don't like or prefer their music. don't simply rub it off and say it's what teenyboppers' listen. they have greater value than that.

i don't too addict to music actually but when the first time i heard god i like it
and when i like one band i never look up to another
it's not that another band are bad but it is my habit
so if anybody ask me 'is god's music good?' i will answer them yes

but if you're talking about reality (at least in my country, indonesia)
i admit hot and also shinhwa more popular here than god
they only know hoi, kyesang and taewoo but they don't know god itself
i think all korean stars whether they are singers or actors or bands they have to thank you to bi
because of bi's drama 'full house' we, indonesian people, know about korean
too bad the time when korean was booming here (still now) wasn't god time

so the points is it's up to everybody whether they think god is good or shinhwa is good or hot is good or any bands are good, ok?

if you asked me to suggest another name for them, i wouldnt know what

well. my opinion on this matter is that i dont agree with any of you, but i agree with all of you on some parts.
like you said, HOT was the band that started the strend of kpop that lasted for over 8 years,
and, though their fanbase was not as eclectic as that of god's, it was as comparable.

but on the other hand, i definitely would not call shinhwa a legend.
the way i see it, shinhwa is on a completely different level as god and HOT,
no matter how long the band has been alive for or
how long the Shinhwa members have been building up their popularity.

and please,
this has nothing to do with purely disliking a band or its music.
people who call other fans "teenyboppers" should know better than to make connections like that.

i'm not saying anything is wrong with teen fans but that is the base of shinhwa fans. nothing is wrong about it i'm just saying teens will not buy CDs, they download half the stuff to their mp3s. i didn't mean to offend shinhwa fans at all. HOT is by far more popular than god but god can sell albums cause they can reach a bigger audience then teens. god is not popular on soompi and outside of asia as HOT, shinhwa or DBSG but they are one of korea's biggest groups ever. i think their popularity is overlooked here on soompi cause if theres like the best boyband or whose more popular in the korea poll shinhwa or dbsg will dominate. korean ajuma's and kids can't all login into soompi... sike someone might take offense to that. may i add god had the biggest number in the guerilla concert? shinhwa, HOT, SES, finkl, kang ta (solo), JTL, all huge names had one but they were able to bring 18,000 fans and i think kang ta had like 15,000 not sure? i just remember god set their goal over his and they were able to get it.

i dont think i was bashing anyone, just stating that god's audience is little bit more diverse than some groups. And i'm not even bashing fans of Shinhwa becuase seriously, if you look at it, most of their fans are teenagers. Maybe i should've used that term than "teenyboppers", sorry. Yea .... i didnt mean to hurt anyone's feelings. It's just amazing that god can pull it off, yet soo underrated outside of korea. I think people should know, i think they deserve the recognition.

i think you guys are making an immediate assumption about me. just because i jumped to defend shinhwa and h.o.t's fanbase, doesn't mean i am only their fans. i am as great a ji-oh-di fan as i am a shinhwa fan. i am, however, less of a choti fan than the two groups.

i don't think shinhwa only attracts teens these days. and the term teenybopper has sort of been used in a negative connotation for so long that i do find it a problem when others use it so loosely, as some of you have done in this thread. and no, i haven't seen the word teenyboppers in the other threads i've visited. i may not post a lot because i am tired of the ignorance on this forum, but i do go around.

yes, ji-oh-di is underrated outside of Korea, but this is exactly why i am saying shinhwa and h.o.t have their own successes. shinhwa's popularity outside korea is something that is very admirable. for those who say they aren't a legend i really couldn't care less. they aren't a secondary group to ji-oh-di and h.o.t. true, their popularity didn't start to rise until those two groups have came to the top, and they never sold as well. but remember one thing that shinhwa's popularity came high at the point where all sales fell.

and i am not looking to start an argument seeing how it's pointless. i am just stating my view. i am sorry that i've made some of you feel irritated.

while you guys may not see the value in Shinhwa's music. others have. likewise i see the value in both ji-oh-di and shinhwa's music. ji-oh-di does reach a wider scope of audience and their classics are songs that i will never get tired of, but shinhwa's songs have also touched their fans and non-fans one way or another. not all their songs were about loveydovey stuff.

i will just end by saying that no boyband is better than the other. there are things that we appreciate about that cannot be found in the other band. and while you may like one band, it doesn't mean that the other band is less significant. shinhwa is a group that has allowed many overseas (after 2001) to realize what Kpop is. if not for shinhwa i wouldn't be so in love with ji-oh-di that i actually bothered with some of the fans' comments. i think ji-oh-di would appreciate the love you give them but won't appreciate how some of you may have denoted other artists that happen to be their friends.

and after this post i really don't see a reason to post in the ji-oh-di thread anymore. and this "argument" as you like to call it, is over.

I agree the arguement ends now. Comparing such diverse boybands is pretty pointless and bound to irritate fans of all and any of them.
