I personally really adore this band.. Their music has an amazing symphonic metal style that blends together well, and you can tell that this band is not just about their looks- they care deeply for their music as well.

Most of their lyrics tell a story for each song. Some are continuous, some aren't.. but it's interesting to see music portrayed that way.

It's also nice to see a Japanese band that deals with great music, aristocratic European style, and vampires.




They've had performances in the US recently- first in Akon, and second in the LA Knitting factory.. here's my account on the latter:




THE LA SHOW. it was effin amazing.. best night of my life? quite possibly.


first of all, i ended up getting an amazing view- front and center on top of the speakers- it doesn't get much better than that. got to touch all of them, shook hands with all but Yuki(drum), made eye contact with Kamijo (at least once), hugged Hizaki(guitar),.. the list is endless.

The rose petal that Kamijo(vo.) kissed in the beginning but dropped down in between the speakers where no one could reach it- i stayed behind so i could pick it up ^^ Definitely worth having to buy the merchandise a bit late. (they ran out of T-shirts though! *sigh*)

Versailles had a lot of energy- Kamijo has an amazing stage presence.. not to mention the fanservice was orgasmic <3

Teru(guitar) is extremely adorable, Jasmine You(bass) is beautiful and has amazing twirling techniques XD, and Hizaki is super fan-friendly with also great stage presence.

Really, my words don't do the band justice so i'm just going to stop.

All in all, the night was bloody amazing.

I only started listening to their music and i really really like it! it's really unique hehe. i really like Lyrical Sympathy! i like how their music is like rock with classical and hard rock <3

OMG I love Versailles!!! I watched one PV, it was long but freakin' gorgeous and so creative. Their music is unique and very captivating. My favorite is Sympathia. Among the members of the band, personally i like teru the most hehehehe sooo cool!!!

I listened to some of their songs recently. The thing that weirds me out is how DEEP Kamijo's voice is. I love Lareine, especially that of the late 90s. But his voice is supposed to annoyingly high and nasal. This is just too much of a change.

The songs aren't too bad. I don't know if I'll really get into them though. My Visual Kei fandom kinda stops in 2003.

I love Versailles~! My favorite song of theirs is probably Shout & Bites.
And it kinda sucks that they have to change their name. =/ The name Versailles fits them so well.
And OMGOSH. They went to the US? How could I have missed it? >_<

I don't know them much yet--I like them so far (I'm a little behind w/J-rock), but the first thing I thought when I read their description is the manga/anime, Rose of Versaille, not that it has anything to do w/ their choice of name. Versailles=French nobles+ vampire angle. If they had the name first, she really has no reason to win any lawsuit. And if they write thier own music, why would they need hers? As for her claim that they're stealing her songs--have they ever played any of them, or done them on stage or CD, claiming they were their own?

maybe they'll deny her lawsuit. too bad they have to change their name because of this. It shows something that they're willing to do it even though the whole thing is wierd. People could tell the difference. (edited because i don't want to knock her)--I don't know how long she's been 'Versailles', but her attitude is -----. It's not like they stole it from her.

Versailles umm I really liked their first album! But uh after that I kinda really went... bleh... Cuz I'm a BIG FAN of KAMIJO! He's my fav singer! I loved him when he was in Lareine! But onw that he changed to Versailles it's such a drastic cahnge! I love it but... the music sympony just sucks... I'm very picky in music :/ Like their first album was great cuz it's new and all... but then it just goes the same :/ Haha well let's say I'm not a big fan of symphony harmonic metal rock XD They all sound the same... Drums go BOOM BOOM at like 250 bmp speed. And guitar TUTUTUUTTUTT! Mad solos. And the riffs are always the same. I tried to like Versailles but they disaapointed me ;_; So i just like their first album T^T

I'm kind of curious about their ages too--but I notice many singers/musicians have only their birthdate listed--which is actually fine, because some people are weird about age (some fans I mean -.-)... what they do matters, not how long they've been alive.

A friend of mine put me onto them a while back. Good stuff (nothing I've really been obsessed with so far; but I haven't listened to them nearly enough).
Must listen to some more of them x)

Versailles is one of my favorite bands! Hizaki one of the best jrock guitarists in my opinion although some of his riffs get repetitive.

If you guys like Versailles, check out Hizaki Grace Project. Its the exact same band minus Kamijo on vocals. Instead its Juka, who I prefer more

I'm not sure of your age, but some of us *cough* are already older *cough*. =D I thought maybe they were somewhere in the area past 30, but it's really hard to tell. It adds mystery, too--at least maybe more people would listen to them because they're curious? At least I know they're not little boys. lol (and yes they're all good looking . I never comment in public about stuff like that *embarrassed*. =p ) The more I see them, the more I like them. As musicians, and so far as themselves, too. I hope they don't change much. I was hoping to get their 1st from Yesasia, but they don't seem to have it...but I'm going to ask friends who are going to Japan about it.

I'm sure you've seen how obsessive some people can be about age (esp girls here), and sometimes it's SO annoying--that's the first thing they focus on. I've never heard anyone (esp. Japanese fans) say something like, 'Oh The Alfee are so olllld, they should retire', or whatever. [I've heard no brains say that about 'older' <<under 30+>> gasoo. So stupid.] -________- When I first read their ages, I was shocked--I never really thought about it--but I found out Takimizawa san is 9 years older than me. Their talent is the most important thing. Or it should be.

I read on their Myspace that they're coming back to the US, too. I wouldn't be able to go, but I hope someone gets to--and maybe take a few pics if it's okay w/ them.

i thought the copyright on the name Versailles was ridiculous as well.
i've never heard of another Versailles besides them. even when i google,
the only thing that comes up is City of Versailles and Palace of Versailles.

Man, I don't even know what to say.

I don't think anyone does.... I always knew he had 'poor health' but I didn't know it was serious enough to lead to death. I was really looking forward to seeing Versailles play in the V-rock Festival. He truly was an amazing person... may he rest in peace. I wish the best for his family, friends, fellow fans and the rest of Versailles.

I was glad because I noticed someone had finally posted in the Versaille thread--you can see the last time someone said something--and I've been waiting for reports about concerts and appearences...I felt sick when I read this, especially since the last time I saw anything was only a few days ago--and they said he was taking a break because of his health. Who ever expected this to happen. This is what I read from JaME USA; it's from their official site. I never met him, but I liked him because he had such a crazy sense of funny--they're all funny and dorky--but he was silly. I've read a lot of people have said how sweet he was, too. I feel bad for his family-including the other members. I've liked them since they first came out, and this is devastating for so many people..

Versailles announced on their official website that their bassist Jasmine You has passed away today, August 9th. The bassist had previously announced that he would take some time off the band to take care of his health, and furthermore the group would continuing recording their upcoming album without him.

The band states that further details about Jasmine You's death will be revealed to fans as soon as they receive permission from his family. With the members still trying to absorb the news, the group has also said that all their upcoming activities will be postponed indefinitely.

May he rest in peace.

I hope people send the Boys a lot of supportive messages.

I never paid that much attention to him before, but his death is totally shocking.
I didn't even know he had a health problem and never would've his guessed his poor health was this severe.

I honestly wonder how the rest of Versailles will continue on with activities.
