My friend just recently got out of a long term relationship and I know she loves listening to music whenever she's down so does anyone know any good break up songs that are uplifting?

girl..there's no breakup song with beautiful lyric.
Songs for breakup are usually sad.
Just tell her to find something else to do.

Paula DeAnda-So Cold
"When the one you love lets you go
And you got no one to hold, yeah, yeah
That's the way you make me feel
On the other side, yes I know
Now it's time to let you go, yeah, yeah
Love can be so cold
Ain't it cold
When the one you love lets you go
And you got no one to hold, yeah, yeah
That's the way you make me feel"
this one got me through it after playing 100x times ( a friend sent it to me then ) honestly nothing happy happy but changes your perspective

I know for girls, "Over It" by Katherine McPhee is a good one. I recommended it to one of my friends after she broke up with her boyfriend, and she loved the song. Made her feel a lot better.

lol, the first song that popped into my head was:
Jinks - Hope You Die (feat. Beautiful)but then again, it really depends on what kind of break up it was... the beat's pretty good though, but if she's the one who dumped him then this probably isn't the best song

Delta Goodrem - Be Strong
Delta Goodrem - Not Me Not I
both powerful and uplifting songs
'cause when you're in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong
Where taking each step one day at a time
You can't loose your spirit
Let live and let live forget and forgive
It's all how you see it
And just remember keep it together
Don't you know you're never alone
'cause when you're in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong
No you're not defeated
And soon you'll be smiling once again
Then you won't have to feel it
Let it go with the wind
Time passes us by
And know that you're allowed to cry

We might have different ideas of "uplifting" but listening to "Until I Met You" by Mest always made me feel better about a certain boy. Despite the angry words, the music is upbeat.

My friend just also suffered a broken heart/breakup and so I've been trying to get together a bunch of "uplifting" songs for her as well. These are just a few that I could find. It's pretty hard though!
MY ALL - TIME FAVORITE "I'll be okay without you and on my own" song is---
India Arie - Heart Of The Matter
And here are a few other good ones that should help
Amanda Marshall - I'll Be Okay

Clay Aiken - I Survived You
Katharine McPhee - Over It
Kelly Clarkson - Since You Been Gone
McFly- Bubble Wrap
Nada Surf - Always Love (very positive song- for any kind of life obstacle!)
Nickelback - Too Bad (The second verse, aweeesome song!)
Splendor - I Think God Can Explain
The All-American Rejects - Move Along
Vertical Horizon - I'm Still Here
Jason Mraz - You And I (Great song, very true words about how couples view "love" these days. Absolutely love it!)
Jason Mraz - The Remedy (I Wont Worry) - not really an "after break-up song" but it's uplifting in some ways
