An edgy, contemporary spin-off of the iconic drama "Beverly Hills, 90210," the new "90210" looks at life through the eyes of Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes, "Degrassi: The Next Generation") and her brother Dixon (Tristan Wilds, "The Wire"), whose first day at West Beverly Hills High School leaves no doubt they're not in Kansas anymore. The Wilson family, including dad Harry (Rob Estes, "Melrose Place") and mom Debbie (Lori Loughlin, "Summerland"), has relocated to Beverly Hills to keep an eye on Harry's mother Tabitha (Jessica Walter, "Arrested Development"), a feisty-but-faded former television star and a charter member of the Betty Ford Clinic.

For Annie and Dixon, the awkwardness of being the new kids is made worse by the fact that their dad has taken a job as the high school principal. The school is one big culture shock for Annie, a sweet and friendly girl with a passion for the theater, and Dixon, a star athlete and scholar who was adopted by the Wilson family after they took him in as a foster child. Annie and Dixon have a close sibling relationship, which they'll need to help them cope with all the new cliques and classmates, including Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord, "Nip/Tuck"), a hot, spoiled, rich girl; Ethan (Dustin Milligan, "Runaway"), a popular jock whose abilities rival Dixon's; Navid (Michael Steger, "The Winner"), an aspiring journalist who heads up the school's daily newscast; and Silver (Jessica Stroup, "Prom Night"), a rebel who produces and stars in a YouTube-type video series.

It seems like the typical sweet naive country girl gets thrown into a
fast paced,back stabbing,fashionable world.

I'm actually excited for this show! The cast looks real good.
Hopefully it will be somthing different and interesting.

I heard that too! I watched the re-runs for soooo long. (my babysitter would tape all of the episodes and then watch them at my house- she was OBSESSED!) I still love them of course but I am excited to see new story lines and the clothes look AMAZING!! and that Ethan dude- totally adorable

Oh I actually liked Brenda. I assume you noticed that Aunt Becky from Full House is the mom, right? I heard in an interview that she is "a modern mom" in the show-- I wonder if that means she get into some scandalous affair or something equally wonderful

I know the cast is really hot! I like that it's a lot of new cast members actually. As much as I loved the original - it got kind of boring to watch re-runs only. I looked through a bunch of images of the cast- I wonder if there will another Brenda/ Dillon love saga???

Tori Spelling has changed her mind about returning to Beverly Hills, 90210 as Donna Martin.

"At this time, there are no plans for Tori to appear in the 90210 spinoff," her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

(A rep for The CW told concurred: "The CW has no deal with Tori Spelling to appear on 90210 at this time.")

The confirmation comes after DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com reported Monday that Spelling, 35, pulled out after learning that co-stars Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were earning $35,000-$50,000 per episode compared to Spelling's $10,000-$20,000 per episode salary.

"She thought she deserved parity, and she's got a point," an insider told DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com.

In May, The CW announced Spelling's involvement with the new show as a guest-star.

According to the statement, Martin is now "the owner of one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills, a shopping hot spot that is frequented" by the new characters.

"I am excited about it," Spelling told Us in April when asked about the new version.

"In some way, every show that followed 90210 was a remake of 90210," she added. "For the fans' sake, I am really happy for them."

Spelling — whose late father Aaron created and produced the original series — gave birth to daughter Stella last month. The actress, husband Dean McDermott and son Liam, 1, star on Oxygen's Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood reality show.

She recently signed up to write a sequel to her best-selling memoir.

Character Info: A lacrosse star and a top athlete who’s known as the “likeable jock” as well as being Naomi and Adrianna’s boyfriend. He will fall out of the popular crowd, and eventually befriend the 90210 crew. He rivals Dixon at first, and will catch the eyes of Annie.


Michael Steger as Navid Shirazi
Character Info: A Persian descent who is the West Beverly Hills High’s politico. Known as the one who runs the school newscast, and gets the juice on the his fellow classmates. He does not drink alcohol because of his Scientology religion. He is also rumored to be closeted-homosexual character further on.


Ryan Eggold as Ryan Mathews
Character Info: A cool English lit teacher at West Beverly High whose unorthodox teaching style puts him at odds with his fellow teachers and sometimes too close with his students. Will be Kelly Taylor and Brenda Walsh's love interest.


Lori Loughlin as Debbie Wilson
Character Info: Wife of Harry Wilson; was an Olympic athlete, but is now working as a personal trainer.


Rob Estes as Harry Wilson
Character Info: Son of Tabitha Wilson and Kelly Taylor's old neighbor, a graduate of West Beverly Hills High, decides to move back to 90210; accepting a position as the principal at his old high school.

This promo has a quick flash of Shannon!!! I hope there is some serious love triangle drama with her, Kelly and Ryan. BUT Harry Wilson was Kelly's neighbor and if this show is anything like the O.C. the parents tend to get VERY friendly with the neighbors...
either way I can't wait for this show to start!!

Don't know how I feel about this
I don't expect it to be anything like the original because it's a different day in age..but I pray this is something
youngsters can enjoy the way I grew up watching the original.

I loved Shenae Grimes in Degrassi!
I think her role in this new 90210 spinoff would make her a breakout star in the US!

i think i'll be tuning in for curiosity's sake.
i wish the rest of the original cast would at least make cameos ... especially Luke Perry

I wouldn't mind meeting Ms. Grimes again haha.

the cast is good looking but the ones supposed to be high schoolers so not look like they're in high school! they look so old.... to be in hs.. they look like college kids... is it that hard to cast people who look like the age of the characters they're to portray???

Since there's really no other interesting shows on television at the moment (other than the new Heroes although I haven't watched season 2 yet) I'll give this a go. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Love it!! The teacher is such a cutie but I get the feeling that I will like Dixon the most cause it sounds like he and his sister have a really caring relationship, just like Brenda and Brandon

I'm watching it now..looks OK so far..Naomi is so b*tchy that it's almost cheeseball..but props to her for the slap and making out with that jerk teammate of Ethans haha! actually I think most of the acting and story arcs are pretty cheesy so far..seems like Annie and Ethan are gonna get together later on? the ending was sad/cute when he brought over that "pentapus" to her house but the fact that the cast and scenery look gorgeous is almost forgiveable lol..the only characters that look really natural and fit right into the show are Brenda and Kelly haha and they're the orginal characters which is sad xD Oh well I'm sure it will grow on me (hopefully)

p.s. What happened to Shanae's character on Degrassi? did they write Darcy off the show? o.O

So I watched the 2 hrs of the show, and eh, I guess it's okay so far.
The drama .. idkk? not that exciting and predictable? lol.
But, the ending defin. gave them some brownie points... so I'm just going to watch next week's episode and see what happens. hahaha.

Ah I know this is late but for those that wants more picture of episode one here it is:

meh... i only watched half hour or so of the premiere, and i ended up turning the TV off. i had high hopes for this show because the original was good. but it was just a bit too predictable and cliche. the acting was mediocre too.
but i'll try and watch a few more episodes before i make a real decision on the show. but as of right now, i don't really like it =s

I didn't really like it. I mean, it was OK but wasn't all that great. I'd probably check out a few more episodes.
The acting from some of the /actorsactresses are quite.... bad IMO.
And the storyline was too messy. The introduction is too confusing. I can't digest all the characters in all at once.

Some people are saying that a few of the girls on the show are WAY too skinny.

And why is there like 1 token black guy in the show? Where's the diversity?

When i 1st heard that they are going to make a spin off of 90210 i was like WHATTTT....and i was totally excited about it just becuz Jennie Garth is in it and some other ppl from the original cast. I watched the premier and i wouldnt say it was amazing but it wasn't crappy like many ppl have claimed it to be.

One thing i dont like about the main girl, Annie is that she is so SKINNY....like ANOREXIC skinny.

I think Silver (Erin) is really gorgeous. Love her eyes.
