First- I know there's a similar Japanese Music Recommendation Thread... but it's not JRock so I decided to make my own..
But go ahead and close if it's too similar to something else out there! ^^;
I'm new to J-Rock- well duh xD- but I was wondering if anyone could recommend their favorite bands...
I'm interested in all or most JRock, but I currently listen to songs like these:
Nightmare- Alumina:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yo65RFCDpwGlay- Verb:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BBwoaN-AJgI'll take all suggestions though! :]

D'espairs Ray...no comment. they're just bombin'.
Gazette, a lot of their songs are catchyy
Alice Nine, they get kind of weird sometimes...took me a while to like them..
Plastic Tree check them out, my eyes are drooping...gahh..
Porno Graffitti...heavenly stuff...gahh maybe I'll just edit some other time.
Night. Hahhahha.
Forget VK bands. Go for One OK Rock instead.

I'm trying not to repeat any bands that have already been recommended, but definitely try out the GazettE. I'm assuming that you're not just looking for visual kei bands.
ONE OK ROCK - Et Cetera, someone else recommended Keep it real which is also good
Matenrou Opera - alkaloid showcase, honey drop
Versailles - The Love From a Dead Orchestra
If you like Versailles, you can also try Lareine, a band that Versailles' vocalist Kamjio was formerly in.
Janne Da Arc - Carnation, Vampire
Plastic Tree - Namida Drop, Snowflower
MUCC - Libra, Ryuusei

You'll love it. They have a touch of jazz style but still jrock-ish. Mao's voice (vocalist) is so soothing and he can sing so well.

I used to listen to a lot of J-rock back in during my early high school days, so I'm not too familiar with some of the newer bands. But I've always wanted the chance to recommend Janne Da Arc, one of the first bands I ever got into. I rarely ever see them being mentioned in threads like this one, so I was surprised to see their name up there; maybe people just don't like them, but please give them a try. :]
Janne Da Arc - Lunatic Gate, HEAVEN, Mobius, Neo Venus, Mysterious, Dry?, Kasumi Yuku Sora Sei ni mini coopere, 7-seven-, etc.
Acid Black Cherry - Yasu's (from JDA) side band

If you haven't listened to Luna Sea and X-Japan, you should try it. If you like gothic style, try Malice Mizer and Gackt. If you want some pop rock, try Uverworld and Glay.

try Awakening Emotion 8/5 by Wentz Eiji who is a member of WaT. This song is a soundtrack of the movie GeGeGe no Kotarou, in which he plays the leading role.
TAKUI's songs are good too, especially those from around 2 or 3 years ago.
OLIVIA is another one who i knew recently. Her songs seem to be good too.

But, honestly, the majority of the new Visual Kei/Oshare Kei are absolute trash. (SID, Versailles, and Phantasmagoria are my only exceptions, though.)
I suggest you forget trying any of the new Indie bands.

OLD SCHOOL Dir en Grey is good stuff... i'm talking about before their most recent album Marrow of the Bone and Withering to Death... i'm not really into the new stuff they've been putting out lately... just don't feel right...
Baroque (which is disbanded now i think) had some good, fun songs...
L'arc~en~ciel is GREAT... they always have good stuff in my opinion... even Hyde had some good solo stuff...
old school Gackt stuff is good...
Art-School, Triceratops, Doping Panda, Ellegarden, Shiina Ringo (? lol, would u consider her jrock???) and that's all i can really think of off the top of my head right now... if you want to check out any of these bands, i'll be more than happy to send you some mp3s or whatver, just PM me... for right now, i'd say your best bet is to look them up on wikipedia and youtube
