Can a man not appreciate films that have such sappy and hopeless stories!?

I can't believe I forgot about My Best Friend's Wedding.
Some day, when I'm awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you...
And the way you look tonight.
Does High Fidelity count? I don't know if it's a chick flick per se, but it does have Cusack and he's in two other movies I mentioned lol.

I'm surprised none of u peoples mentioned the Korean hit
My Sassy Girl and I'm sure all of you have already watched or heard about it.
They also made an american version of it, but if I were u, I'd skip it for now and watch the Korean version first.
Somebody mentioned
The Lake House up above, which is also an americanized remake of the Korean movie
Il Mare. Stars the same Korean actress as My Sassy Girl (Jeon Ji Hyun, she's so fine too). I'd watch the Korean one first if u haven't seen the Lake House yet.
And one of my favorite chick flicks,
The Hot Chick because Anna Faris is so hawt

and the movie was funny (at least to me).
PS: I'm a guy

I second that. Definitely watch Il Mare first. I liked it much much better than the Lake House. I just felt that Il Mare seemed much more magical, and I liked it's slower pacing although some of my friends complained that it was sorta boring at part. I found it fit right with the overall mood of the story. I took it as more of a subtle magic touch to simple ordinary life vs a full on out fantasy or just plain contemporary romance movie.
Also try:
27 Dresses - for some great chemistry between the leads
Ensemble C'est Tout - for the same as ^, and just for a really feel good type of movie
Jane Austen Book Club - for Austen fans and for a greeeeeeat geeky male lead *cough* Grigg *cough*
Pride and Prejudice - because who doesn't love Lizzie and Mr. Darcy?
Becoming Jane - because I seem to be on a roll with all these Austen themed movies. lol.
10 Things I Hate About You - Heath Ledger

, great modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew

Hahahahaha movies based on Nick Hornby books kind of are like.....sorta chick flicks? They kind of fall in the middle. I never saw High Fidelity but I did love About a Boy.

"27 dresses" was really good, but I couldn't really sense the chemistry between the main character.
"10 things I hate about you" is my ultimate FAVORITE chickflick. I think I watched it over 30+ times. Love love love it.
"Drive me crazy" is also pretty good. I might be bias... because I love Melissa Joan Hart
"She's all that" is probably one of the "cliche" one out there. Popular guy betting his friend to go out with geeky girl, then end up falling for her.
These are all pretty old... but still, love them!

I recommend the following:
1. Pride and Prejudice - great adaption..even the 1995 version with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy was great..I think that was a made for TV movie for BBC.
2. Ever After - romantic and funny...the "real" Cinderella story.
3. Never Been Kissed - gives hope to geeks in all of us.
4. Love Actually - love in all it's form
5. Becoming Jane - I just love Pride and Prejudice so I want to think that Jane Austen is really Elizabeth
6. A Walk in the Clouds

I know a lot of these have been mentioned but I'll list them again because they're just that good...haha...
Becoming Jane: omg...James McCavoy equals everything you want in a man...lol...
Just Like Heaven: its so good that even my dad (who is so NOT romantic) likes the movie...actually he likes it more than I do...lol...
Ever After: LOVE how he falls in love with her cause of her mind and personality...not just looks...plus I love the wardrobe and setting...
Hitch: funny romantic comedy...I loved Kevin James in it...he was adorkable!
Casanova: another playboy falls in love with a girl cause of her mind and personality...love that...haha...
Moulin Rouge: one of my all time favorites...its so funny, romantic, and tragic...and Ewan Mcgregor singing...um...hotness!
Tristan and Isolde: I enjoy when a man loves a woman with such intensity as the character Tristan did...James Franco is so sexy!
Penelope: very cute movie but I mostly watched it cause of James McCavoy...he's just too drool worthy!
Pride and Prejudice: I enjoyed ALL versions of these...they're all worth checking out!
Singin in the Rain: not sure if this counts as a chick flick but its such a good classic!

I'm very picky when it comes to chick flicks because some are very very cheesy or just plain stupid.
The ones I recommend for sure :
- Little women (1994 version) *great actors and definitely a wonderful adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's classic.
- Pride and Prejudice but also Sense and Sensibility *Jane Austen the queen of romance novels.
- Romeo and Juliet (1968 version) *love this one more than the recent one.
- 10 Things I Hate About You (funny as hell and quite good for a teen movie)
- Penelope (cute, cute, cute and a gorgeous James McAvoy = totally worthy of my time)
I need to watch "The Notebook", it seems to be a great movie loved by many people.
*Off topic*
Some mini-series as well :
- North and South (BBC mini-series) *very good with a very talented actor,Richard Armitage that I've discovered in BBC series "Robin Hood".
- Jane Eyre *one word : excellent.

I've seen The Notebook once and may be I just need to re-watch it cause I think its way overrated...
I may be stoned for saying that cause every other girl in the world seems love that movie and think its the best romance film ever...
Its worth checking out but I don't think its as great as some people say...but again maybe its one those 2nd time watch movies...

OMG, somebody mentioned Jane Austen Book Club! Yay~ That's a really good movie.
If you can bear with Diane Keaton for most of the movie, Because I Said So is pretty good too. The male leads are so cute. 8D
The Devil Wears Prada is awesome too.
I tend to like chick flicks with substance, if you know what I mean.
