Yay Jay Chou's new album, Capricorn is out soon! Is anyone as excitied as i am!?



It appears Jay will be indulging in his interest of the magical arts for this album theme. The album entitled "Capricorn" (Mo Jie Zuo) has early promotional pictures of Jay clad in a magician's attire. The pre-order of the album also comes with a Jay Rubik's cube!

Singer Jay Chou will be releasing his new album "Capricorn" on the 9th of October, besides echoing his own star sign, it also shows his beloved magic, he appeared as a modern "smoky joker" look, mother Chou was amused looking at him, when he had free time she went up to take pictures with him.

Jay Chou, who has been concentrating on practising magic recently, created a new star sign with a tone and creativeness "Mo Jie Zuo", this is a mysterious star sign experts can't understand, sometimes it's the card Jack, sometimes it'll turn into the Joker, it transforms into different shapes and song styles; the poster for the new album especially used the idea of a card with the magician and joker facing opposite each other.

The record company expressed, as soon as the black Joker of spades was revealed, a lot of people thought it was very fascinating, it's a symbol of Jay Chou's limitless variety in his music, sometimes he's like a magician, he gives people a mysterious impression; sometimes the stuff he writes is very imaginative, like how a joker is funny.

Jay Chou has also written a "magic" song in his new album, there's also a song about the "joker", the two songs even reveal the exciting interaction between the magician and the joker, it's very dramatic.

He's taken 20 sets of pictures for his new album's pre-order events, he brings about a gorgeous and retro atmosphere, among them, in order to become a joker, he dusted himself and appeared as the "smoky joker", the audience were surprised.

I think I know what Wammie<3 meant about track 4, Jay shouldn't try singing at such a high octave. lol
LOL@Track 5.. it reminds me of Cowboy is Busy.
Track 6 失落非主流 & 9 達芬奇的畫布 are quite good.
Standout is of course the last track 稻香.. definitely going to be on repeat for awhile, the MV's so sweet.

Nothing compares to his classics, but this album is different, it's about a 6-7/10 for me. I felt 'On the Run' had a few more standout tracks than this one.

I downloaded his album today (but don't worry I already pre ordered it as well), haven't had a chance to listen to it but I already heard 稻香 and it's a really nice song.

This album was the first I heard over the weekend of anything Jay Chou. Now I like him a lot!

i think this theme really suits him. i've been anticipating new music from him for a while, so this is great!! it's amusing how there's a rubik's cube with the limited pre-order edition. *lol* i can't wait!! i read the lyrics to the 稻香 song that he penned and it's really got that nostalgic childhood feel to it. ^^

i've been listening to his new album the whole day today and 失落非主流 is my fave right now...but overall it's an AWESOME album! i think the ballads stand out more than the non-ballad songs though. 紅樓夢中 and 從新愛 are realllyyyyy good too!!! and that frog song...uh...it's like cowboy song #2 >_>

Jay chou is amazing, looking forward to this album

i actually like his new album... at first (when i was just skimming through... REALLY QUICKLY ) i thought the songs were a bit weird... then i listened to his album fully and i ended up liking it. u can really tell that jay's experimenting with his music but he's still in his usual boundaries. i really like his ballad-y songs the best (as expected). as for the more up-tempo songs, they're on the same lines as "cowboy is busy" song. i guess u can say that he's leaning towards a more mainstream sound with his up-tempo songs but the songs are still unique... there was this one particular song on his album that reminded me a lot of Rainie Yang's "hat trick" song (lol!)... i'm not bashing him but i thought the sound was very similar and his voice was all high and ALMOST cutesy (in a guy way) like Rainie's.

anywhoo, i recommend the album to any jay fan and to those who are bored and in desperate need of some chinese music

I can't say I'm a fan of Jay, I think my mom likes him more than I do haha
Anyway, I really like 稻香 from this album. I've always enjoyed his slow songs more than his fast, "rap" tracks.

My favorite song is definitely track7 (從新愛 or 兰亭序)! then comes 魔杰座 and 稻香. I'm not really feeling his new style atm but eventually it'll grow onto me.

I honestly didn't find this album as great as anticipation made it out to be. But he is still amazing to me.

There are a few songs that stand out, but I personally don't like him trying to go for a more mainstream feel. (referring to those.. unusual hip hop/country/whatever else songs.. they sound too odd and unfinished/messy)

I like 达芬奇的画布 & 稻香.
