I'm going to apply there and I'm curious about what current students think of it. I went to visit it for a tour and I mostly liked it, although the campus did seem extremely small. I am also wondering what grades and test scores people got in with. And, do people mostly dorm and live in an apartment or commute?

Here are my stats:

2.5 gpa
taking SAT next week. expecting 1850 - 2000

Ummm, your GPA and expected SAT score are quite um...different?

I'm currently a freshman dorming this year there. (:
It's an awesome campus; people and classes are great from what I hear and can tell.
The campus is actually pretty big to me. o_o
It may seem small, but it's beautiful.

I got in with a GPA of 3.6-3.8? My SAT score was 1680 or something.
Fairly easy school to get into.
It's known for being a large commuter school, and the dorms fill-up fast.
37,000 students registere approx. and there's limited suites.
There's also currently still a waiting list for the rooms. o_o!
There's also alot of shared apartments across the street from campus, which isn't so bad I hear.

I think everyone I know that is attending enjoys the school pretty much. (:

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I absolutely love it!
Dorming is also an experience that you wouldn't want to miss if it's possible for you.

Well the thing is I received a 1.0 my sophomore year (I know I know horrible) and a 3.3 my junior year which averages out to about 2.5. I also went to SAT school.

Oh wow, that's still major improvement!

I think you still could get in okay. (:
It's not as hard as a UC, and plus...you avoid essays for application.

hows the asian population there? if i want to live in an apartment is it more expensive; how hard is it to get a dorm?

There's a pretty large amount of asians here lol.
I'm not sure about the statistics, but I'll say there's alot because of the area the campus is located. (:
You've got Little Saigon and the Korean District about 25 minutes away, and in the other direction, Chinese and more Korean areas!

I'm not sure if it's necessarily expensive to get an apartment.
I just find it more of a hassle to pay bills for electricity, internet, cable, gas, water, etc.

Dorms aren't really hard to get.
It's basically mere luck if you don't turn in your housing application/packet on time.
That's the important part! Mail in the stuff as soon as you get it!
I was #21 on the waiting list for dorms...and by mid-July they notified me that I got a spot!

Theres a big asian population in so cali. So the majority of schools in so cali will have a good amount of asian students.

i am currently renting a room in a house for $580. though i have to ride my bike to school in the freakin heat. BLAH! ahhah

IMO csuf is a really easy school to get into. Dont really know much about the school because all of my classes are in the new business building.

i attend there and it's currently my fifth year (sadly)
i think it's more populated by caucasians due to the bordering cities of placentia and yorba linda
and yes the campus is small
parking can be a pain due to the overcrowding of the school (especially the first week!)
you'll probably get in with those scores.

people usually commute
i get shocked when i hear that they commute from temecula, san clemente, and so on
i think i read in the daily titan that the school is building new dorms
you might wanna check up on that

CSUF first time student here
Well, CSUF is somewhat small but I guess the distance from the dorms to the campus is quite long!
I have to take that distance everyday and it's so sad =( Especially the heat.. can't wait for winter!
Fullerton is really friendly and it's been a great experience dorming here. I met lots of great people & have became quite close
This year I heard they accepted 10,000 freshies!

i didnt even buy a raincoat yet. i felt out of place being one of the warmest dressed person at school.. especialy when it got all hot! wtf

tell me about it. yesterday i tried to talk on the phone in one hand while steering with my other hand. it was a painful sight to see. after a while i got off my bike and just walked hahahah

is the courts always crowded? hows the competition compared to 24hrs? i mostly play at the south coast 24hrs and people say its the best competition for 24hrs around this area.

If you're a student, all you have to do is register your CWID and get your hand scanned...then you can go in right after.
Takes about 15 minutes? ^.^

usually, i play on thursdays after 1
i play till like 5
i play on the first court which is the "good" court then i play on the third which is the "d league"
the reason for that is because my legs get really sore after a few hours because i have a bball class at 8 am.
there are some really good people at the rec center
they usually come after 5
i'll probably be there this tuesday and thurs
come by and we'll play

It is good for business majors.
They recently built a whole new business building. It looks great.
Anyway, IDK if the accounting is good... I am not towards that kind of major.

The new construction for the 2011 dorms are annoying! I live in the dorms, so randomly I would feel thuds in my room now. Apparently, other people are feeling the same thing too. It is so bad, especially for commuters who have to find parking... really HARD now.

Ah, this is one of the schools I'm debating to go to. Can anyone who goes here tell me if there's any nearby stores, restaurants, and other stuff a college student would enjoy there? I don't really like driving too far to find something to do since in San Jose everything's close.

Well, there is an OCTA bus that takes you anywhere from Fullerton, Downtown Fullerton, Brea & Downtown Brea. It also takes you all the way to Irvine too. It's all free too, you just need to present your Titan ID (:

There are PLENTY of stores around CSUF. Really close rest. are mainly fast food. I'll name some on the top of my head. KFC, Jalapeno Grill, Burger King, McDonalds, In &* Out, Chipotle, Baskin Robins, Starbucks (many), Yogurt Land, Yoshinoya, Pinkberry, Pho places (a lot), 99cent store, Big Lots, CVS, Target, Albertsons. It's endless. The Brea Mall is only like 5 mins (driving) and by bus 10 mins probably... and there are a lot of restaurants in there too. Hopefully this helped!

The ACCT program is actually really good, and really competitive. If you join ACCT Society you get to go to a conference in Irvine called, "Meet the Firms." Bring a resume, listen to a lecture from different accounting firms including the big four, it's a good place to network and get your resume out there. My boyfriend just graduated with a degree in ACCT. After watching him tutor me, and then my friends who go to UCI and UCR, our textbooks and professors are a lot more articulate, structured, and knowledgeable on this subject. But it's definitely a tough subject. Many accting majors end up taking 1 - 3 lower/upper divisions over. So you better study.
