Who do you prefer? Blair or Serena?



Personally I prefer Blair as she works for everything (to achieve her goals) while Serena gets everything without working for it. Everyone tends to forget what Blair did for Serena and what Serena did to her.

• Blair kept Serena's identity a secret as the person who had the pool keys (even when she and her class were facing expulsion)
• Blair helped Serena with the Georgina issue, sending Georgina out of town
• Blair spent all night looking all over NY for a drunk Serena
• Blair didn't judge Serena for the Georgina/Pete issue
• Serena slept with Blair's boyfriend Nate
• Serena unconsciously stealing the limelight of Blair (Photo shoots, school group...)
• Serena broke their symbolic tradition at the Fashion Show

My vote goes to Blair .

I didn't like Serena in the book nor the show . u.u;;
Sure , Blair can be bad at times but i pity her .

I have always like Blair wayyy better than Serena. Even in the books. I was crazy about Nate & Blair when i was reading the Gossip Girl series~
I know Blair is really mean but I believe she does have a good heart. She does everything she can to help her friends. (in the book, she bonded very well with Vanessa).
I still think Blake Lively looks a bit too old to play Serena. Plus Serena is suppose to be the prettiest girl in the upper east side. However, IMO, Leighton is so much prettier ^__^

blair. she can be the meanest girl, but she works for what she wants, and i like that i agree, serena and dan lasted WAAAAAAAY too long.

even though blair can sometimes be immature and self-centered, people can't deny that she has spunk and personality. i love her pinkberryiness. she says things that i wish i could say to people

wow, serena annoys me. blake lively is FAR from beautiful, she looks like a man and has a butt chin. and i hate how she always has her annoying blonde hair down that doesnt even look properly washed and always act like she's tired with that whining/tired/im so innocent and sexy voice. serena could pass for trans in the show, really i thought serena was supposed to be gorgeous... and she just isn't a good serena or whatever but she annoys me, and the last episode - serena can't pull off being a pinkberry. serena's definitely a better friend, but she can't pull off 'im hot and im going to get you' type of look.

blair, on the other hand, is a real pinkberry, i dont care, she's self centered and doesnt care about serena, she 'helped' her to help her social status. THATS WHY I LOVE HER. she's allowed to do that because she can pull it off. SERENA CANT.

I like Blair more, I was more on Serena's side in the beginning, but now Blair gets my vote.

I love her^^ I think her character is more well rounded and interesting. Serena is kind of annoying pretending like she is an example of morality when she's not any better. At least Blair stood up for her friend and helped her last season with the whole Georgina situation.

i used to like blair more. but the latest episode made her look so desperate... i mean COME ON, she gave serena the wrong dress.. on PURPOSE. that's NOT what you do to your BEST FRIEND.

and she constantly treats serena like mini cooper.

I prefer Blair. Blair is so gorgeous and Serena is just so...I don't know. After episode 5, I'm starting to dislike Serena. What's wrong with her? What happened to her nice-girl attitude? Blair did tons of things to help Serena and Serena is trying to steal her queendom?

Blair's sabotage is so satisfying to watch.

first of all, when did serena start caring about the spotlight? in the past season, she let Blair take the throne without caring. it seems to me that the only reason why Blair cares about being in the center of attention is because she doesn't have that in her own home. sure, her mom knows that she's beautiful, but does Eleanor give the same adoration to blair as she does to Serena?

If you guys really pay attention, Blair is the ONLY ONE who was against Senera getting back with Dan. Why? Bc she knows Serena and Dan are getting back with each other just for the sake of sex. They didn't work out their problems aka the reason why they broke up in the first place. Blair said it straight out to Serena's face. The day S worked out her problem with D is the day B will support their relationship.

That scene really suprised me because it shows how mature Blair really is.

I dunno what everyone's criteria is, as a character, Blair is the more dynamic, more interesting. But seriously objectively speaking, she's a manipulative, materialistic, simple-minded pinkberry. the type of person you wouldn't want to befriend in real life, which makes her a lot of fun to watch, but my vote goes to Serena, who at least has the semblances of normalcy.

Blair. Even though she was a bit immature in the last episode, I just don't like Serena. I don't know what it is about her, I just don't like her. Maybe it's Blake Lively's bad acting. Her mono-tone voice maybe?

But yeah, it's always been Queen B. It's just weird to have Queen S, Serena doesn't have that leadership quality. bean pie Blair is fun to watch too I love her pinkberryiness!

I love nice!Serena.. but she doesn't stand up for herself much when it counts and lets people do horrible things that make others *coughDancough* think she's horrible. And while certain other people (Dan) do jump immediately to conclusions she should still try to take responsibility more often. But mostly she's a really nice character that I love.. except for now since she's Queen S.. which does NOT suit her imo.

Blair.. is evil, cunning, and will do anything to get what she wants. And even though she may be sort of insecure whenever Serena unintentionally or not steals the limelight so to speak, Blair is the one who works hard for all her achievements, like Jenny said. Serena just glides by.

I think this is exactly what the writers wanted, a sudden flux of people on B's side this season, but that won't change the fact that Blake Lively is more famous and applauded for her acting in real life. Where is our beautiful Leighton on magazine covers and red carpets? Leighton is such a good actress (in the roles I've seen her in) and it's sad how unpopular she is in the media. People keep on bringing up that she was born while her mom was in prison for drug dealing... but just shows her contrast with Blake even more. Like Blair, Leighton has worked hard for everything.

I saw clips of her scenes...and it doesn't know a lot of versatility...
doesn't show me that Blake is a GREAT actress and can play many characters

character of Blair Waldorf.

The writers don't have to do much to make me like Blair..
I've always liked her...since Season One.

I used to think Blair was an evil b/tch until she and Serena made up.
She still scares me sometimes with her scheming and stuff, but I like it when she helps out her friends. I like Blair.

But I chose Serena, because I feel like her heart is in the right place most of the time. She never seemed as stuck up as Blair was in the beginning, she was openly nice to Jenny and Dan(even Vanessa) and always urged Blair to stop hurting others (i.e. Amanda). I also feel like she's only acting out now as "queen serena" because she's heartborken and wants to get back at Dan.

and isn't this thread about the characters of Gossip Girl? Why are people talking about Leighton and Blake Lively?
btw, this poll starter is SO~ biased it's hilarious but it doesn't really matter, I understand all of the points she made.

I prefer Blair because she's a really well rounded character and no matter how spoiled, evil and rotten she acts, you somehow always sympathize with her because you know what's her background, her story. It's like you can relate to her as a person rather than just see her as another selfish brat, she's human and makes mistakes.

Serena though, I don't know what's up with her character. It's like she's a puppet and needs people to set up events to make her act like how they want her to. She doesn't have her own personality. I don't even know if she's really horrid or pretending or is she really a good person inside but people influence her to be a horrible person. She flip flops all over the place. I don't know how she can replace Blair so easily as Queen cause there's nothing in her personality that makes me believe that she's so much better than Blair. It might be because Blake's acting is very subpar that I don't see any growth with her character.

I'm sorry but Serena annoys me with her "holier than thou" act. She judges Blair for the things Blair does, and act as if Blair is such a horrible friend. When if you look at the big picture; Serena is the bad friend. Did she not sleep with her best friend boyfriend? Did she not left town and not tell her best friend at all?
She act like she's the kindest person in this world, when her action shows the complete opposite. I wouldn't dislike her as much if she just openly admit her flaws. The thing about Blair is that, although she's a pinkberry... she admits it. Serena need a reality check and realize that she needs to drop the act because she's not fooling anyone.

And Dan have the right not to trust her, afterall... she isn't exactly honest with him about ANYTHING. She tried to hide the Nate thing from him, she tried to hide the Georgina thing from him... so what does she expect? If you're not honest, don't be piss when people doesn't believe the thing you say.

Blair. Not because I think she's a "good person" (she obviously is incredibly selfish, childish, and manipulative--those going "she's really sweet, deep down!" need a refresher course or something), but because she makes the show work. Serena is just too bland, too nice, too good at everything.
