i was wonderin if you folks wanted to start a pinned thread just on Fantasy sport talk. I figured since so many of us play and there really isn't a place to talk about transactions and advice, etc. etc., that we can make a place to talk about it. Of course, we can make one for individual sports, but that would be a ton.
Any takers?

What was your worst pick? which player in which round?

worst pick: j. smith (nba: atl hawks) 2nd round. he is a pretty nice fantasy pick but i shouldve waited till 3rd or 4th round.

Ben Wallace in the 3rd round. His stats are much worse than when he was with the Pistons. Hopefully he will get better.

anyway of the four leagues i have im trying to swing a deal in two. i have my personal opinions but id just like to double check
gotta put the thread into use, ya'know?
LEAGUE 1
PG - Gilbert Arenas (PG)
SG - Josh Smith (SG, SF)
G - Tony Parker (PG)
SF - Grant Hill (SG, SF)
PF - Elton Brand (PF)
F - Richard Jefferson (SF)
C - Dwight Howard (PF, C)
C - Mark Blount (PF, C)
Util - Mo Williams (PG)
Util - Deron Williams (PG)
BN - Brandon Roy (SG, PG)
BN - Jason Terry (PG)
BN - Andrew Bynum ©
Pending trade...
Tony Parkers + Jason Terry for Yao Ming
i like the trade, xcept maybe terry's play of late makes me wonder if i'm giving up too much here. plus, this would seriously glut my 3pt production. but then again i dont like the idea of depending on mark blount or andrew bynum to be a consistant 2nd center.
LEAGUE 2
PG - Tyronn Lue (PG)
SG - Jason Richardson (SG, SF) <-- picked wayyy too high

G - Luol Deng (SG, SF)
SF - Shawn Marion (SF, PF)
PF - Tim Thomas (SF, PF)
F - Tayshaun Prince (SF)
C - Andrew Bogut (PF, C)
C - Dwight Howard (PF, C)
Util - Mehmet Okur (PF, C)
Util - Andre Miller (PG)
Util - Kendrick Perkins (PF, C)
BN - Chris Duhon (PG)
BN - Andrew Bynum ©
BN - Luke Walton (SF)
Pending trade...
Dwight Howard for Paul Pierce
I have no point guards which made me consider throwing Howard for Kidd plus Smush or something, but i couldn't resist the chance to grab pierce. the thing is this would ruin my blocks/rebounds since okur isn't exactly the greatest rebounder and perkins/bynum are inconsistant. and i still have no second PG since i expect lue's numbers to crash when claxton comes back in full strength and duhon is on and off. also worth noting... this league is really deep. REALLY deep. 14 teams with an extra util. pretty hard grabbing a dcent PG out of free agency. best PGs there are Kyle Lowry, Gary Payton, and Antonio Daniels

He will be great under Don Nelson.
I had a chance to pick him up but I already had 2 other Warriors on my team (Davis and Murphy). I did not want to load my squad with too many players from a single NBA team. But now Davis and Murphy (been back since) had both missed some games, I am regretting not picking Monta Ellis up.

I agree. I like the way kwame is coming along since his return and I guess he'll put up a good fight for starting position. I'm going to see how he does tonight and that will seal the deal.

i have a similar problem like that too. i have like six good PGs; i find it a waste to drop a good PG to get a marginally beneficial center
i found it better to resolve holes through trades so i get something back for those PGs
EYJAYJAY
Nov 29 2006, 11:02 AM
the reason why i dont like brown is because he's sharing minutes, and jackson just declared bynum as the starting center. no matter what, until one of them gets major min, neither will do any good. imo, sammy has more potential (but also more risk) by not having to share any minutes

Someone drafted Pau Gasol in the first round in my league...hahaha. My worst pick would have to be Dan Gadzuric because Bogut was supposed to be out for about 2 months or so, and Dan would be starting. So Bogut started the season and I just dropped Gadzuric, but luckily someone dropped Andre Miller and I picked him up filling up some assists.
Now someone is asking me for a trade, Michael Redd for Dwight Howard. I don't have any true SGs. I already have Garnett, Udonis Haslem, Antawn Jamison, Jeff Foster, and Nenad Krstic. That should be enough to make up for Howard's rebounds right? Brandon Roy is my only other SG and he's injured. Should I give up 13+ rebounds and 1 block for 3's and fg% and ft%?
