I watched that show as well. I think one of the reasons they lost is because Xue Zhi Qian was there. (I love him) His style was similar but he executed much better than Hit-5.

i think cotton candy was good and all, but i felt that over half of the votes they got were because of xue zhiqian
plus, they don't stand out for me...not even a little bit
the judge was also kinda rude because he was like "too bad it's not hit-3, because only 3 of you guys are great singers" (how do you think the other 2 wouldve felt?!!?!?!?)

Who were the three guys that the judge was referring to? I'm guessing one of them was Duan. I think it would help if the judge mentioned who

I don't understand why the other two are in the group. It's not like they are bad at singing because they're dancers. They don't add anything. I know they said they wanted someone who sings in the lower and higher range, but they can get other people who are just as pretty and sing better.

I'm disagree with you. sorry but i think they shouldn't kick out yang fan or any other boys. Even though yang fan + dyf are not great singer i still prefer them. Gao xiaochen is cute though but i dont have any sensation feeling toward him and his voice. I think yf + dyf, these two boys look really cute and not just their look but they have something that the fans attracted too. I like yang fan voice though. And also i don't want there to be a new singer to replace any of them. They have been together for quiet long and also they kinda new in the industry, but they still young, they still can practice.

but yeah one thing on the dance performance , i didn't see any part where they have to be on their knee though. but whatever i believe they did tried their best.
Why the judge so mean. His job is to judged based on their performance which is hit5 vs the Taiwanese band ( i forgot what they call) he don't have the right to tell them who suck at singing and they should form hit3 whatsoever. . gosh. I think this judge is old and picky. the boy still young geeze. give them a break.
@cfensi: Though I think he sings really well o_o, I don't think it would be right, or fair, to kick any member out (even if they were horrible) after they've trained and had their debut. Think of it as leaving more room to develop...?

err, they obviously got into hit5 for a reason. are you talking about meidao and yufeng? i don't think many people can be the judge of their voices yet because people haven't actually posted a lot of their performances or when they've been on game shows. and even if there is, it's fancams that aren't the best of audio quality. unless you've seen them on tv then i guess that's a different story. plus, they don't have much of vocal time in songs because they obviously aren't main vocals.
and they may not be talking much because it may be of their "appearance" their company told them to hold when they debut. for example when dongbangshinki first debuted, jaejoong had to be really quiet. so even if he wanted to talk -- he couldn't.

Cfensi, Yang Fan might be the weakest link along with DYF but anyway, we r already attached to this group. I think some of us like the fact that YF is kinda a good looking nerd (and he was hot with his first hairstyle)..cause he seems to spend a lot of time on the internet ..lol a quite guy ( and not a big money spender, a big surprise for me)...maybe some fans like that kind of personality...not everyone has to be as vivid as Gao Yu.
And DYF is a pretty boy, I mean, his fans are called Barbie, even if he is kinda awkward with his dance...I feel that he is what he is and he reminds me of male version of Lady Gaga (the new red hair lol)..nothing wrong with that.
I listened other boybands live singing, even the non mandarin ones..I do think Hit 5 are quite ok with their live performances, there are worst boybands in singing skills and the ones that I thought really good boybands, are not necessarily amazing in singing live either.

About Yang Fan, some people said that he is half korean....I think both are just rumour. I mean, he is from Xuzhou (Han Chinese majority) and it's situated near Shanghai area which is way up north from Vietnam. Plus, Chinese names can be translated to Vietnamese or Korean as well, I think they need more proof like DNA test or something, then I might be buying it.

Actually, I just remember reading few months ago when they first debuted, there was a person in Malaysia using Yang Fan pictures and pretend to be him, cause as u know, he is an ulzzang and many people tried to use his pics, so I believe it's the same case with this vietnamese blogger or and maybe korean as well.
I went to YF blog months ago, and he wrote several list of his official blogs while others are not HIS REAL ONES..and all the blogs he mentioned are Chinese blogs like ifensi, sina etc.
So...to all YF fans, please don't get tricked by these random bloggers pretending to be YF or other ulzzangs

the judge mainly gave out the points...but then the audience(i think they're the audience) will go through one of the 2 doors (one for hit5 one for cotton candy) and for every person who goes through, their points go up by 0.5.
Hit-5 was behind by A LOT but tons of people walked through their door, but in the end, they still lost by one point =(
On the positive side, it shows that hit-5 has a lot of fans =P

Not quite my TW friend, it seems that majority of Taiwanese think Mainland Chinese talk like Pekingese (Beijing) or Northern Chinese (accent with "er"). There are a lot...i mean a lot of dialects in Mainland alone (ex canton Chinese, Xiang Chinese, Gan Chinese, southwest mandarin, Pingese, Jin Chinese, Min Chinese, Guanxi-canton, and...etc *). I am from Fujian coast area (directly facing Taiwan) and we speak variety of Min Chinese (閩語), and people from southern Fujian (閩南) can understand and speak 台語 Taiwanese, we all have min accent which is same with TW. Most of Southern Chinese doesn't have "er" accent but straight lol. And YES It's really irritating to hear a northerner speak but i can manage. (hope no northerns here :x)
Anyway aside from accent explanation. I think most of the members are from Eastern China (Jiang Su, Anhui , Henan , Zhejiang).

Gao Xiachen is too pretty for A-One, so image wise I thought he would have fit HIT-5 better. And also because I don't think Gao Xiaochen can dance (he's really tall) and he wouldn't be able to catch up to the rest of A-One, which I'm starting to see as more of a dance group now. *headdesks* Such a waste...A-One could sing Chinese minority ethnic songs very beautifully.
Hmm...I like how all the Chinese boybands so far all seem to have different styles.

I don't even think it's widely available in China yet.
I think really at this point the only one who's actually girly is Dong Yufeng (edit: who doesn't want to be girly?). Yang Fan is the least effeminate in my opinion. The rest all dress well. Duan Huangwei is my favorite style-wise.

*sigh* and It'd be hypocritical of me not to help after I keep getting frustrated at Chinese people for not subbing their own things enough. Plus i liked the interviewer, and this was one of their best interviews. She made the atmosphere comfortable, and she actually sounded interested in what they had to say. She picked on people, but got a lot of info out of them. Yang Fan actually volunteered info and sang part of one of their songs solo.
So the gist/highlights (I have no idea how to sub)
They talk about the EP, and how much they would rank it:
Gao Yu - 90 , 10% left for improvement (host says he is too modest)
Guo Ziyu - 95
Dong Yufeng - 99, what Gao Xiaosong (CMO at Jie Jie Gao Sheng) gave them and everyone laughs
Guo Ziyu says everyone got really excited after hearing the two songs, their choreographer did too and immediately got to work, and Gao Yu started practicing right away.
The two electronic songs, I Want You to know and Say You Love Me Again they decided as a group (the five of them) they want to film as part 1 and part 2, two MVs with one story. They will be involved creatively in the story.
The host makes an interesting statement - she feels that Top Combine appeals to the 90ers and HIT-5 appeals to the 80ers. Which confuses everyone because they are mostly born in the 90s. HIT-5 sings they want to appeal to everyone, but the slow song Dong Ai De Gu Du probably fits the 80ers best. Duan likes that song best because he likes romance songs.
Dong Yufeng is unhappy with his tall looks because it makes people think he needs protecting, but he likes to do things by himself. He wants to get fatter. Yang Fan wants to get fatter too. The host asks Yang Fan if he has the same reaction from people and Yang Fan says not the way Dong Yufeng does.
Dong Yufeng says when he goes to the places where you can bargain on clothing prices vendors see him they think he's a rich kid and try to raise the price really high, but he's thrifty so he laments that.

Dong Yufeng is unhappy with his tall looks because it makes people think he needs protecting, but he likes to do things by himself. He wants to get fatter. Yang Fan wants to get fatter too. The host asks Yang Fan if he has the same reaction from people and Yang Fan says not the way Dong Yufeng does.
Dong Yufeng says when he goes to the places where you can bargain on clothing prices vendors see him they think he's a rich kid and try to raise the price really high, but he's thrifty so he laments that.

The interviewer said both YF and mr B got small face (v shape- girl shape)so they look a bit girly, but YF said he and mr B r not the same, he said people never thought of him as a girly person even though he is skinny and has a small face.
YF talked more over here and he said people is worried cause he is too thin, but he actually eats a lot (but still skinny). He doesn't (like) to speak, but he likes sports (ohhh manly YF) like basketball.
