Actually, i just started going because I started getting into trance/dance music and liquid (which started my venture for other dancing styles, besides bboying). I don't really like to socialize around people because of: jailbaits and e-tards...I, at max, pop one though;).

So who still goes to these? Why do you go? Can't wait for tao?
Pogichinoy
I'm 24, and people around my age and much older still go. Raves are for the veterans, not for the teenie boppers. I remember seeing an Asian guy in his 60s going at it.

I love going to the likes of godskitchen and festivals which hold decent DJ's.

I don't do drugs, and I don't drink when going to these kinds of things. I go for the music. Oh yes, stone cold sober for me

Yes I still go to "raves"
derrek
I'm pretty sure if I went to a rave I would have a seizure.
Mr Boo Boo

No, that wasn't me.
YUNA!
I still go to clubs once in a while, but never been to rave~
Just to dance and to have fun with my girls ...

But the sad thing is..
I've been 20+ for a while
And I have to get past at least two bouncers.
One time I had to get my IDs checked by this really REALLY huge creepy bouncer guy and two others came.. and me being 4'11" and all, I was like.. mommy tears.gif
bekhi
I haven't been to a rave in such a long time, and honestly, I don't think I can last past my bedtime.
angelZ
The last one I went to was for Labour of Love in September @Toronto.
I mainly go for the DJs/music and to dance!! Have to pop at least once to last throughout the night though...
Gah...I missed out when Armin came to HK because....none of my friends here likes trance music ><
iamneena
been raving since i was 14... stopped when i hit 18.. recently went to nocturnal wonderland and thinkin bout going to tao.. haha when i go i see all these youngins and im like DAMN THAT USED TO BE ME HAHHAA
GooNiEGooGoo
lots of yougins go...most of them just go straight to the stage staring at the lights. i don't blame them because i go to the front as well and open up a dance circle by myself...all by myself. no one wants to dance wif me....except receive light shows n shiiiz. well...let me know if u want to meet up with tao. just 2 of my friends are going cuz the rest are feeling "old" status.

It's basically a place where deaf people go and observe other people that have gone and acted totally insane for no reason whatsoever.

I'm 21 and just started going to raves this year...my third will be TAO in LA. I REALLY love everything about raves but I personally don't see myself going anymore after I'm maybe 23 or 24.
7thprincess
ugh...not a big fan of rave music. I'll stick to my dry humping, grinding, and ass shaking clubs.
precious4e
^ haha same here

I think I went to a rave once when I was 19. I saw some sketchy middle aged guys beckon to me with freaky dance moves. They also flashed some cash at me so I got creeped out and got the hell outta there.

I don't really care if older people go to raves/clubs or whatever. It just really disturbs me if they start hitting on underaged kids.....

IMO, that whole scene peaked in the mid/late90s then it was all downhill from there. i haven't gone to a true "rave" in nearly a decade. most of my friends are DJs/promoters/producers/etc, but they tend to stick to clubs and smaller one-off parties as opposed to "massives" (do people still call them that anymore?).

gawd, i feel old now rolleyes.gif

I'm still spreading the PLEASE, LOVE, UNITY, RESPECT !!! <333

Oh yeah, I enjoy going to raves. I love the electronic music scene, and the people involved within the scene are so nice and welcoming. I've never experienced any sort of unnecessary drama or hardcore bad vibes at the raves I've gone to.
I live in Michigan, so raves here aren't really that huge, and are usually smaller parties at warehouses and rented out venues. The bigger raves are out by Detroit, the most popular being DEMF {Detroit Electronic Music Festival}, which is none-stop three days full of dozens of different genres of electronic music.
The last time I went out to Detroit for a rave, it was for DEMF's after party, Fusion, which was also really cool. The entire three-story building was rented out for the event, and each room and each floor had a different genre of music.
A lot of times at these bigger festivals and raves, national artists and DJ's make an appearance, and that's always awesome too.
As far as the drug related aspect of raves, yeah sure, I don't really care. If people want to free their mind and take substances like acid, ecstasy, or mushrooms to enhance their experience at the rave, then I don't really see the big deal with it so long as those using are educated and not looking to become another moronic statistic. Many of my friends do it, and I'll admit that I have and do on occasion depending on how I feel. They're really not as scary as school and the media make them out to be, honestly. Lol.
Festar
i go to music festivals :S kinda same as rave just house music and better atmosphere!

however im goin to a rave with "showtek" soon.

mo.NeMo81
i went to my first one this past halloween. it was a very different experience from clubbing i must say. this reminds of me a old gentlemen who was there, i think he's around 50! he dressed up as meat and even have a vip pass! i dont think i'll reach that level, i'll be too annoyed by drunk/high kids.
Mattsanity
hardcore in the past but rarely now. it's the devil's night, and takes lives away
Dj_Bouncy
Man, I am suprised to see so many responses~~ but yeah, I been raving since 2000 and Djing since 2004. I love the scene, event though its gone done hill a bit but I much prefer a rave over a club. Way more relaxed...
GooNiEGooGoo
9 more days fellas...who else is going? just pm me or something.

Been to a few Dance Festivals the last couple of years like Latin Village [2005 and 2008], Matrixx: under the bridge [2006] and Awakenings [2004].
Not really my thing though.
1 Festival/party a year is good enough for me.
I'm not that partyhardy
falleneight
I've been going to massives since i was 16 (2000). Still love it biggrin.gif I can dance from 10pm til noon without any drugs and outlast my friends that are on something.

Can't wait to go to Bal En Blanc/ White Party in montreal, canada.

I find it funny that old farts go to these things. There was this one time when my friend bumped into his mother at a rave. it was hilarious!!
