Hello, I'm not sure if this is a topic already... and if it is, I couldn't find it and I'm sorry in advance.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody who owns/uses iphones or ipod touch if they know any cool applications they recommend putting into their phone?

Thanks biggrin.gif

Edit:
Free applications please smile.gif & my iphone is jailbroken

Free or cost money and if money what is your budget.

do you hear those catchy songs on commercials and wonder what on earth the title of the song is?

well then. you should get Shazam! you just like, stick the bottom close to the music and it'll pick up the song title and artist. it's friggin AWESOME.

i also have...cycorder, winterboard, fb, palringo, and some games. my iphone is jailbroken.

Oh I'm so glad you came up with this thread because I was gonna make one. Over the past two nights I've been exploring many of the options as far as iPod Touch applications go. Here's what I have (I'll try to explain what they are)

[Main]
Music - Videos - Photos - Remote
(Remote) - This is an awesome program that allows me to control iTunes located on my desktop with my iPod Touch from anywhere in the house. Since my desktop's sound system runs my music for the whole house that means at anytime anywhere, while in my house I can control what music is playing. If I'm reading and I don't feel like listening to Linken Park then I'll change it through my iPod Touch instead of having to walk upstairs to the computer room and jumping on the desktop. I absolutely LOVE this application.

[Tab 1] - I consider all the things here things I use quite often for regular personal stuff.
Safari - Mail - Contacts - Calendar - Weather - Calendar
(Nothing to explain really)

[Tab 2] - Now we're getting into the helper kinda stuff. Everything I need to assist me on the day to day. I usually check this stuff once a day.
Clock - Notes - Maps - YouTube
(Stocks) - I love this application. Everyday I check what my stocks open and close at.
(i.TV) - This application is pretty sweet. Basically it's a TV Guide. You plug in your Zip Code & Cable Provider and it will tell you what's showing on TV, what time, channel. On top of that it'll even show you what's playing in the movie theatres around your area. Love this application.
(Drinks Free) - Pretty much shows you how to make thousands of different kinds of alcoholic beverages. Awesome for me cause we have a lot of alcohol at the house.
(Yelp) - If you've never heard of Yelp.com, you've been very deprived. I've always loved the website and the fact that they made this into an application was AWESOME... No more having to browse yelp through the website.. The application serves its purpose beautifully. Basically, Yelp is a Social Review/Critique website for a variety of resturants, clubs, bars, lounges, shopping centers, anything around any location. This application was vital when I was in New York looking for whole in the wall places with good eats.
(Big Oven) - Pretty much a giant cookbook. I use it often. If it's almost time for me to go home from work and I haven't decided on what to cook, I'll have it pick a random meal for me to attempt. I'll stop by the grocery store on the way back knowing everything I'm going to need.. Very handy.. Also neat if there are stuffs you wanna know how to cook but don't have a clue how.
(Stanza) - Basically... this application turns your iPod Touch into a Kindle of a sort... it allows you to read e-books. I'm not going to say how here, but you can actually download many of the popular titles out there (Twilight, Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code, Conversations with God).. Of course it's pirating but hey.. you can also buy the e-book versions and you can import it to your iPod.. Pretty sweet.. I now read.. a LOT.. Also there's mannnnyyyy free titles to download and read. I just got Sun Tzu's Art of War for free on there.

[Tab 3] - This is where all my games are.
(Soduku) - Self explanatory.
(Tap Tap Revenge) - It's kinda like... guitar hero (in a sense)? but for the iPod Touch. Stuff scrolls down that follows the music.. and you hit the colored dots when it gets close to the bottom and it goes along w/ the music and stuffs.
(Characters) - This is my means to track anyone's World of Warcraft characters... In the race to level 80 I gotta keep track of all my guildmates and cousins and friends characters to see who's ready to go raiding and do heroics and stuff. Helps me monitor who's progressing towards lvl 80 and what gear they have, their professions.. everything.. Hella cool if you're a WoW Head.
(TapDefense) - This is basically like tower defense.. Little minions and critters and stuff follow a trail and you gotta build these arrow towers and stuff to try and kill them all before they go from point a to point b.
(Tangram Pro) - A game where you have a silouhette of a particular figure. You get a bunch of pieces and try to rearrange it so that it fills in the shadowed figure.
(Labyrinth LE) - You tilt the iPod Touch to roll this ball around holes and walls and stuff... basically trying to get from point A to point B while avoiding all the obstacles... forever aiming for record time.

[Tab 4] - This is all my setup stuff.. Rarely do I mess with this section.
iTunes - App Store - Settings

//Whew.. that was a long type... I must note that ALL OF THESE ARE FREE... Yep. I'm a cheap skate, but I love the App Store. You don't have to pay for the nicer applications because it seems to me that there's always a free alternative. I hope this information serves useful for someone.

@duykato.
your list DEFiNATELY helped me!
thanks for that list!

my itouch apps consist of a lot of random things. but some of my favorites are:
[facebook]
[aim]
[pandora] this app lets you listen to music based on a music genre. i like it a lot because it exposes me to new songs that sound similar to the ones i like :]
[urbanspoon] if i can`t decide where to eat, i just give urbanspoon a shake & it gives you recomendations based on the info you put in. it will recommend places based on location cost & food type.
[backgrounds] it has a lot of cool pictures :]
[tap tap] similar to ddr.
[trace] fun game. basically there`s an obstacle course & you use the things you draw to help you get to the goal line.
[superpoke pets] i have a panda named roy ^^

Go on to cydia and put in the source for hackulo, i dont really remember it right now, okay and then just download installous and bam free paid games, and with that you can download directly from your ipod or you could go to a website and download games from there and put it in through itunes but make sure you have installous in first for the games to work. If you want the website to get the games PM me and i'll tell you

These are the apps that I downloaded that I find the most useful.

textPlus: With a wifi connection, you can text anyone for free. There are no catches, it really is free.

IM+ Lite: Supports msn, icq, aol, yahoo and other types of messengers on here. Simple to use, you even receive offline messages that other people sent you too, so you don't have to worry about disconnecting from wi fi, you can just retrieve messages when you log back on.

Remote: Basically a remote control to access and control your itunes library. You need wi-fi to use this.

Cubes Lite: I love this puzzle/strategy game. I've had this almost a year now and I never get bored of it.

All of these are free btw.
