i have to say the 80's and the 00's.
the 80's because i'm just in love with the 80's.
neon, flash, synthetic pop, new wave; goodies!
00's because there's more variety, more experimentation.
but the problem with that is sometimes it doesn't flow well.
AND most of the music sound similar. it kind of goes both ways.
HOWEVER, to be honest, i love ALL the decades.

50's that's where it started.
We wouldn't be anywhere without the artists of the 50's.
DEFINITELY NOT the 80's, 90's, or 00's, those have just been terrible.

I'd say the 60's has been the best for music as far as advancement goes... but as far as the decade that has the most music I listen to is definitely 00's.

I can't really say which is the best decade for music. There are songs that I forget about from each of them.

well, from an economic standpoint, 80s would have to be the best decade as the 80s was the most profitable decade

I'm biased because I'm still stuck in 1998.

I think 50s and 60s music has been able to stand the test of time better than any other decades' music.. and that's how I define the "best" decade.
I, like PunchNine, am stuck in the 90s and am partial to 90s music! But only music from the first half of the 90s. After 95, it was all bubblegum pop.

lmaos. one of the main reasons why music in the 00s isn't outstanding. Lot's of variety, but nothing memorable that comes to mind like the previous decades. I guess indie music is becoming pretty popular in recent years?
I'd say 80s. From the 80s, the king and queen of pop appeared. Michael Jackson and Madonna. Plus, Michael Jackson's Thriller is the biggest selling album of all time. ;D

80's were the most memorable and profitable =
Michael Jackson's thriller
But imo the 90's were the best
best in music, movies & tv shows

The 90's for me~ The best hip-hop and underground rock came out at that time imo.

I totally have to say the 50's - 80's. Mostly because I like how each genre that was popular has grown and changed from one to the next. I must say I'm a total fan of the late 70's early 80's music. 70's due to my love for Joy division as well as other punk music that came out then, and the 80's because I'm in love with new wave/industrial sounds that came out of that era.

Each decade has its ups and downs. But I love 70s cuz I grew up listening to my dad constantly play it. And the 90s because I still love my 90s, teenybopper songs, LOL. Oh, the boybands~ *heart heart heart*

I was born in 87 so I say the 90's
You had hip hop and rock at its best. Music had a message and it had a feeling now its just market like sheep. 70's had disco and soul i like both

I would say the 80s and 90s. The 80s because of New Order and Michael Jackson. And the 90s because a lot of awesome rock music came from that decade.

I would say the 80's and now. The 80's had some of the best artists in history. Duran Duran, Madonna, Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, ect. And we have some pretty amazing artist now as well. Utada Hikaru, Lady Gaga, Paramore....

Definitely the 90's by far. I really can't think of a song from the 90's that I don't like. Well, there's a few bands I didn't like much but all of the old grunge (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden etc) was pure brilliance.
But my favorite band in the whole world has put out most of their CD'in the 2000's, so it's a tough call.

90's. I loved N'sync, M2M, Billy Joel, Sugar Ray, BoyzIIMen, the Spice Girls...
Agh. I wish music like this would dominate the world. Instead of rappers rapping about dicks and boobs.

i think the 60's and 80's music influenced more people. although i'm more inclined to 90's and 00's music, the product of those genre influenced and contributed in the development of the current music now.

Although I'm an 87' baby, I just love the 80's music! Somehow I enjoy more of the new wave sound. I was exposed to a variety of music ever since I was young. I also loved the 90's as cheesy as some of them were, but seriously, without all those explosion of pop, there was nothing else to scream at the top of our lungs in the car! =p I do love the 00's, but sometimes they get too repetitive that I get sick and tired of it, that's why I always crawl back to old school. 00's certainly has style, but sometimes the trend is overdone and played.
But seriously, I just love music in general so as long as it's good music, I'll always listen to any kind!

Word!
Or oh well I'm born in 1990 (still made in the 80's though, so maybe I got influenced in my moms belly XD)
So I never "experienced" the 80ies, but I really like the music and music videos (and the choreography in the music videos, like MJ and JJ did at the time, you don't see that anymore!)
But also the 00's, because there are sooooooo many talented artists these days (also a lot of not so talented though). And a lot more variety indeed.
The 90's were also really good, haha that decade is my childhood so whenever I hear a 90's song it's really nostalgic

..
Btw I do check out the 70's,60's and 50's music sometimes, there's some really good stuff in there too!
Good thing we have stuff like youtube, I think it's rather refreshing to search old artists/bands hear their songs actually..

The Rolling Stones
&& U2.
I absolutely love U2 <3;

Agreed.
90s was definitely the best (pop, rock, rap?! tupac, eminem, good stuff lol). 80s was fine too, but sometimes it sounded too old
Love the bands of 80/90s tho.
Guns N' Roses, Metallica (still rocking <3 and my fave band), Black Sabbath, etc etc.
Now all I get to hear is some wannabe picking up a guitar and calling himself a rockstar T__T
