Synopsis
A young freeter (Ikuta Toma) - the term used to describe freelance part-time workers - who has no interest in social issues gets embroiled in a baffling case when he is chosen to be a juror. A woman (Ishida Yuriko) is accused of a murder over an inheritance. She is surely guilty but why are the jurors votes leaning towards innocent? This is because a mysterious group is working behind the scenes to fix the verdict.

Popular young actor Ikuta Toma has a solo starring role in a drama series for the first time. The show, titled "Majo Saiban," will be the first drama to tackle the issue of Japan's new "saiban-in" (lay judge) system.

This May, Japan is reintroducing the jury system, which was previously abolished in 1943. Since then, only judges have decide the outcome of criminal cases, but under the new system, cases will be decided by a combination of judges and lottery-selected citizens.

In "Majo Saiban," Ikuta plays a typical part-timer with little interest in social issues. However, he is unexpectedly chosen as a juror in the trial of a suspected female murderer. While the mystery surrounding the case unfolds, an unknown group is secretly attempting to bribe the jury.

Actress Kato Ai plays a housewife who is also selected as a juror, while Higa Manami plays Ikuta's girlfriend, a newspaper reporter. Ishida Yuriko takes on the role of the accused.

Fuji TV will air "Majo Saiban" on Saturday nights at 11:10pm. The series starts on April 25, about a month before the actual jury system goes into effect.

Watching the first episode, reminds me of the movie Runaway Jury.
This drama's style is similar to Liar game.
There are some scenes quite scary and intimidating. Ep 1 was relatively fast-paced.

I like the first ep so far, I hopes that in the end they wont let the witch comes out innocent;P Toma looks differents in this serie than the others where I have seen him so far, it's good to see another side of him too^^

It's seems like Toma will have a relationship with the witch's daughter... I dont know but I somehow dont like it;S Just my opinion..

Finally, I had the time to catch up with the drama ^^

And it's awesome.
I love the way they play with the camera angles, the fast/slow motion, the music etc...


I love Kurokawa XD Suzuki Ryohei IS awesome in that role.

I love Toru. Toma is perfect in that role.
The way he goes from a shallow boy and become serious/more aware of people around him.
*sighs* I love this drama.
