yeah i have no idea what it's formal name is (google didn't work for me either). i'm assuming it's release has been fairly recent.

i found information on it :)
"LG, Korea announced the release of another clamshell device aimed at users in the country, namely the LG SV800 / KH8000 / LH8000. Also known as LG Lollipop, the handset is obviously targeted at young mobile users, and it comes in three color versions: Cutie Pink, Aqua Blue and “Boyish Titanium”. This fashionable clamshell phone features 220 LEDs on the outside that can display pixel animations. Additionally the Lollipop phone can light-up in 35 color shades that can be associated with specific callers. Another highlight of the new LG phone is the self portrait camera with software that helps to make a good photo of you.
Here are the handset’s main specs:
• CDMA and HSDPA connectivity
• 2.8 inch TFT internal display with 240 x 400 pixels
• Media player
• 3MP camera
• 1.3MP secondary camera (for video calls)
• MicroSD card support
• 106.5 x 51.5 x 13.4 mm
• 92g
The LG Lollipop is expected to become available in South Korea starting this month, and it should be added to the offerings of all major carriers, including SK Telecom, KTF and LG Telecom. There are no details on a possible availability of the new handset on other markets at the moment."
so yeah, it just came out in korea .. i don't think it's gonna be available overseas for a while.
i personally think the ice cream looks better ;P the outside looks weird >__O
the inside looks NICE though. it would be perfect if the inside of the ice cream had a long screen like that!
anyway, some pictures~

I have to admit that they're going a bit to far with this whole "food" themed stuff..
And the most pathetic thing is that I want the phone *head desk* Seriously why do they keep throwing great design at me that aren't unlocked yet! What to do now? icecream 1? Wait for icecream 2 (hoping for a better quality phone) Or wait on this cutesy thing? Why is lg only bringing these out in Asia? They're cruel!
Just to torment us some more:

Those models are annoying! Why don't they just use bing bang all the time?

I agree that I wish the inside of the ice cream looked like this instead lol.
The buttons look nicer and the bigger screen is a definite step up from
the small ice cream screen.

on the contrary i think that the buttons look uglier than icecream. reminds me of american phones, ewww.
the LED thingy is bigger though.

How much do you think will this lollipop phone cost?

Ice cream is made by LG. Lollipop is made by Cyon. They look similar, but there not

Cyon is just like a branch, the name of the LG korean branch.
Cyon makes lollipop and the ice cream. It's just that there's the Cyon's
in korea and the GSM versions with the LG logos on them.

The LED lights are way bigger but for some reason I don't think it's as cute. It doesn't have the whole chunky cutesy thing going on
This is what I found on a site:
The Ice Cream phone is currently available only in South Korea, for a suggested retail price between 400,000 and 500,000 KRW, meaning about $400 - $500. No details about a future availability for other markets, but I guess Europe and America will also want to get some mobile ice cream.
We'll have to see if the unlocked version comes out fast.. I think we'll have to wait for quite a few months.. And then the prices won't be low..

Have you guys seen this clip? Big Bang plays with the phones! Apparently you can
customize all the lights (exterior LED and the lights at the tip of the flip)! It's pretty unique!

We all know everybody LOVES customization!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yALynWlmVNoEnjoy, Cr YT and the uploader.
Edit.
Notice that it's a CDMA phone, so it doesn't use a SIM card, which in unfortunate for almost everybody. The only way you could use it is in the situation where a company like SPRINT or VERIZON. I highly doubt they would pick up this phone in the near future. Sorry

CDMA carriers in the U.S. require proprietary handsets that are linked to one carrier only and are not card-enabled. To upgrade a CDMA phone, the carrier must deactivate the old phone then activate the new one. The old phone becomes useless. (cr. wisegeek)
Although you CAN technically hack CDMA phones, it's a real challenge. Not only do you need to hack the phone, but you also have to get the phone freed from the original company (this will not happen unless you have a connection working at the company who is willing to bending policy for pals). So all-in-all...
Generally the answer is "no, CDMA phones work where they're sold." I usually just forget about getting the phone if it's CDMA.

Since the phone is CDMA , you wont be able to use it outside of Korea since its with certain service providers and different frequency then what Telus and Bell use ,unless you find or someone else finds a way to hack it but usually its a pain in the butt so a lot of people dont do it and hard to gaurentee that it will work . So unless they come out with a GSM version in the future or make a variant of some sort with the LG badge thats the only way I could see it being able to use

Its all programmed within the phone rather then in a simcard itself. Id say probably most phones in Korea work this way since you don't see a lot of them being hackable to be able to use outside of Korea . I have heard that there are some providers that use GSM though.

It wont be sold outside of Korea since its CDMA , therefore not useable outside of Korea.
