Waddup peeps!

As many of you know, there are some major changes going on here at Soompi-->State of Soompi Address. Thanks everyone for voting and sending us your feedback using that little red "Feedback" tab, and big thanks to the FRIENDS OF SOOMPI who have been responding to all our polls in the Exclusive FOS Beta Testers forum.

We are hoping to do a BIG relaunch this summer, followed by regular feature updates monthly from then on. And since we can't fix everything at once (oh, we wish we could, but we do not have a team of programmers yet), we have to prioritize and schedule the changes. Sooooo....here is what we hope to have in the first BIG relaunch and a rough timeline of things after.

The "new hotness", as julanrouge has been calling it, will include:
- single sign-on for main site and forums (building this has been a GIANT headache, but it must happen)
- one profile page to rule them all (your profile page will track all your activity in both the forum and main site, and there will be some cute new features in the profiles that we think you guys will love!)
- new and improved fan clubs which will hopefully address some of the housekeeping issues the larger celebrity threads have this is being pushed back in our developments schedule so this will come later
- photo galleries (for users, celebs, and fan clubs)
- improved member blogs (and ability to have your regular blog display in your soompi profile if you want)
- improved PM system where you can PM more than 1 person at a time (but no spam!)

We know that some of these features are not at the top of the feedback list, but we chose to implement these first because they rely on the same code base as other core features, so its easy for us improve blogs now as opposed to building out a reputation system for S/T (which will happen, but takes much more time). Also, the forum will stay intact as is, so no need to worry about that.

Right after we relaunch, we will be working on the fanfic library (with the ability to subscribe to and rate a fanfic), followed by reputation rankings for S/T, etc, etc.

Housekeeping:
When we move to single sign-on, your email address will be used to log in, so it is CRITICAL that the email address in your FORUM account is current. If not, go update it now! If you run into problems updating your address, please email info@soompi.com with your USERNAME and the exact error you are getting. Also, if you have a MAINSITE account, please be sure that this email address matches your forum address, as that is the only way we can match up accounts.

We will be doing beta testing on the new features before we launch it to everyone. Beta testers will include staff, moderators, admins, and all FOS. FOS also have access to the Beta Testers forum where we post polls asking for feedback on feature decisions, etc, so if you want to participate, you can become FOS here.

i *think* we are trying to get a "thumbs up" or "i like" feature for posts in the main site done in time for launch - hopefully! its a really good tool for people to help each other find good content and posts:)

Wow, I'm excited. A way to manage the artist threads would be great! It would be good if you could makes official masterlists for the "Other TV Books Movie" section too, so the non-Korean actors get recognized. ;P

Oh, I'm ecstatic! So far, this is the best news I've heard all day =D. I can't wait until the new Soompi finally reveals itself. : D. MID MAY? Early June? heh heh :0? Possibly even earlier than that? I'm trying hard not to think that everything will be finished after Mid-June. LOL. Gotta keep hope! haha. But even if it does take longer than I expect it to be, I'll still be waiting patiently 'cause that's much I <3 Soompi! Thanks for the little notification! i dont want to run the fun but.. i have a Question
i have the same e-mail account in the Main and Forum site
BUT. different username. what do i do? i used to have the same username but then changed my forum username last year.
can i request a change in my username in the Main site?

I don't think this is a good idea. starforme and I (fanfix mods) have discussed this at length and we both feel a rating system for fanfics has too much potential for abuse. We really hope it's not going to be part of the relaunch.
