TINTED WINDOWS

Not sure if you guys had this one on your radar, but if you're a fan of power pop, check it out.

Taylor Hanson (Hanson)
James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins/A Perfect Circle)
James Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne)
Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick)

The first single's video: "Kind of a Girl"
Another video: "Messing With My Head"

An interview of James Iha about the group's formation and sound. Basically, they wanted stripped down power pop--no harmony, no tricks, no super witty lyrics...just fun, garage-band music.

Aaaand...listen to all the album tracks here. It comes out for download/purchasing today.

Personally, I think the best songs are Can't Get a Read On You, Back With You, Without Love, Nothing To Me (really love this song), and Doncha Wanna. Really great summer album.

Some pictures of their recent performances:

Oh my God... I think my dream came true!
Hanson and the Smashing Pumpkins in one band (not too crazy about Fountains of Wayne though and I've never heard of Cheap Trick.)
I was disappointed that Iha didn't join the Smashing Pumpkins when they reunited a couple years ago and he pretty much took it low key after the Perfect Circle disbanded.
But this makes it up.

I like their music, after listening to the songs for some reason I have Doncha Wanna on repeat.

I found most of the songs to be really, really addicting. Cheap Trick was huge in the 70s. Their most famous hit was "I Want You To Want Me" which has been covered many times.
