There are LOTS. Of household treatments. And I'd like for people to post and share them :3 of course, you can't just post something you don't trust of haven't tried out <.< cause imma just falcon punch you!

jk. But here are just a few that i have from experience, youtube, and many books:

Acne- You all want a remedy for this xD

Baking soda- Take a small amount, make it into a paste with water, then apply it to the pimple.
Or, if you have really BAD acne, then take a bar of soap that you use to clean your face with, and lathering the soap, add some baking soda to it and wash your face every night with it.

Witch Hazel- This doesn't clear so much of pimples, but it gets rid of oil in your skin. Just take a cotton ball and apply the witch hazel, then rub it on your face every night, or every other day.

BC aspirin [powdered aspirin usually found in drugstores or wal-mart]- Make a paste of this BC aspirin by adding either aloe vera or honey to it, and make a mask out of it. do NOT use this more than once a week. Because your skin will get used to it, so only use once every 2 weeks or one week.

For blackheads
- Instead of Biore strips, liquid glue is almost the same thing but just not as strong or skin-stretching. Very mild, but it gets blackheads out very quickly o.o

Blisters!- We all get them from high heels or monkeys. l:

Preperation H- [yes, the so called butt itching hemorrhoids cream] Preperation H helps keep the inflammation down, and
[/indent]lubricates the skin ,preventing more rubbing.

Aloe Vera!- Aloe vera heals everything <.< but what it does to blisters is it stops the swelling, and helps it heal [indent]
faster.

That is just of the few things i have in store for this forum-thread.

If you have questions, please ask. I'll find solutions.

I was checking out my forum and saw that there aren't any actual health tips at all!

So i'll add some=

To...

Make your legs longer- Use the old fashioned reach-your-toes technique, about 15-20 minutes a day. it's also good for the circulatory system.

Get healthier, ~glowing, radiant~ skin
- Skin Food skincare! And eat lots of dark green leaves. Like a giraffe :3 Or you know, kimchi, and dark sangchu in your salads

Getting rid of sore throat
- Gargle coca cola or any other very carbonated drinks biggrin.gif, or 2 teaspoons of Hersheys syrup. and yes, you have to swallow all of it like liquid medicine.

Cure Bruises- Vaseline!! Put it on immediately and there will be less or no discoloration, and minimized swelling.

Annoying Allergies- Altoids or any other strong mints O: Chew 'em up real quick and your congestion will ease up. -quick tip- If you are allergic to the little metal on your pants, coat them with some nail polish. It can be clear, or colored. But it stops the allergies from them.

Burns~
- For small burns, you can use Cool whip. (weird, but it works.) Tea bags [preferably green tea or lipton]
Dip the tea bags in cold water, wait about 3 minutes -like ramen- and then put them on the burn to reduce
swelling and that -im melting omg buurn- feeling.

Freckles and Unwanted Sunspots- 100% lemon juice. -lemon juice is a safe skin-bleach, which reduces the color of
the freckles. Other than that, not much can be done with Freckles and etc.

Make-up (once again it should be in beauty section)- Normal conditioner gets rid of make-up pretty quickly. Just
dab it on a cotton ball, and try not to get it in your eyes too much. For DRY skin, try using a type of
whipped cream, because it contains alot of essential oils. Not too much tho, you might get zits from too
much. Lipstick that's hard to get off can also be taken off with Vaseline.

Stuck Ring!!!!!!- Anything from chapstick to BUTTER will get that ring off quite easily.

SUNBUURN
- Ice packs of course, anything will do. And COLD tea bags and aloe vera will get rid of that nasty
sunburn.

And just to top it all off....

Wrinkles- Since usually wrinkles on young or maybe old people is because of dry skin, using hair conditioner, or
sunscreen works well. Apple Cider vinegar also works wonders when mixed with olive oil, then put
around the eyes. Good for when there's a mid-term coming up and your studying.

NOW, it belongs in the kinda-health section w00t.gif

OMG, that's genius thank you! I get allergic to those metal thingies in my jeans, and I have a pairthat I simply don't wear because after a day, I get 2 red-dark circles on my belly where it touches my skin.

I'm going to try the baking soda one for acne. Thanks!
Christinaisweird

thanks.
please do post more.
jaykidding
Ohh, I haven't heard some of these before. Thanks for tips! (: Sadly, I have none to share.. ^^;;
Dayae
Zomg yay! im so happy that its my first thread and im getting so many good replies x3!!!!!!!

I shall post many more o= and there are certain face masks for skin types btw~!

Face Masks!
For...

Dry skin/Winter Irritation-

Avocado mask- have avocado with either a bit of honey, aloe vera, or extra virgin olive oil and mix it together to make a paste, and then spread it evenly over your face. Wash off after about 10-15 minutes.

Banana mask which is where you just mash a banana, and add sweet cream (whipped cream) then apply it to your face, which softens it, and adds alot of moisture, vitamins, and smoothening. Leave it on for 30 minutes!~

And, the oatmeal mask. To make it, mix together in equal proportions raw oatmeal flakes, egg yolk, and honey. Keep the mask on your face for about 20 minutes, wash with lukewarm water, and pat dry. It should leave your skin very refreshed, soft, and it heals, also.

Tired Skin[wrinkles and eyebags from studying or etc!]-

DO NOT USE THIS MASK IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO DAIRY!!- Make a mask with natural yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream, or kefir(greek yogurt) on your face avoiding areas around the eyes. Relax for 10-15 minutes and rinse your face with cool water~

Large Pores, Or oily skin. -or both, you know.-

Egg white mask!- I'm sure you've heard of it before. But you smooth beaten egg yolk all over your face, let it rest for 30 minutes, then rinse with water. This mask will refresh and tighten your oily skin and will make it look much healthier than before. In the winter, it will create a natural barrier to protect your skin from harsh winds and frost!!

Tomato Mask-puree flesh of a tomato and mix with some potato flour to make a paste. -20 minutes-

Lemon Blackhead mask-beaten egg whites with a few drops of lemon juice (great for getting rid of blackheads O3O)

And last but not least, make a carrot mask of your own using aloe vera. -Helps to put in vitamins and great for oily skin.

Woot woot! hope it helps >.<

Thanks for sharing!! smile.gif

Have nothing to share though ;x

How to lose baby fat?

*sigh* It all has to do with exercise/dieting. But here are a few tips-Support this diet change with eight to ten glasses of water every day. Focus on eating right by ensuring you consume whole grains, cereals, pulses, fresh fruits, vegetables and raw foods. It is best to avoid oily, fried and high calorie foods.

Rashes- Usually, rashes are from dry skin, but if that isn't the case, then here.

Baby Powder- Stops the itching
Apple Cider Vinegar- Soothes the area
Baking Soda and Mustard- If you take a bath with either of these,-half cup or a full cup of baking soda, and a whole
bottle of Heinz French's Mustard- soak in the tub for about 15 minutes. It sounds gross
but it gets rid of the rash much faster.

Here are cures according to Brand-

Hot Sauce- Keeps cats from scratching wood furniture [apply the hot sauce to a cloth and rub it over the wood]
Helps if you rub it over an Arthritis spot
Take 12 drops of hot sauce and tomato juice, mix, and drink. Relieves congestion and asthma.
Apply some hot sauce to a backache, a bruise, over a foot aching spot, on neck pain, or the gum of a tooth near a toothache to numb the pains. -all of the listed-

Steak Sauce-(preferably A1)
Treats insect bites very well. -Do not put it onto an open wound-

Baking Soda- It's used to clean the following:
Bloodstains- Mix the baking soda with a little water, apply it to the cloth, then brush it off after it's dry.
Contact Lenses- Mix it with your regular solution, and dip in your contacts. ONLY FOR HARD CONTACT LENSES!!!
Onion and Garlic smell on your hands- Use the baking soda as a soap and rinse off. The smell should be completely gone biggrin.gif
Dirty Brushes and Combs- Mix 4 tablespoons of Baking Soda in a glass of warm water, and soak all your hairbrushes and combs into the glass of water (use a tall glass) for 30 minutes.

Tip!!!- For taking that grime off of your straightening and curling irons, unplug them, take a cotton ball and put nail polish remover on the cotton ball and rub the grime off. Then take a wet cloth of water and clean the iron again.

You don't have to share, but if there's something i haven't covered please feel free to x3!!
crap
i'm very curious how the glue one works for the blackheads haha
Dayae
Well if you know how a Biore strip works, glue does almost the same thing.

It pulls a small layer of dead skin, and along with it, the top of the blackhead which pulls the rest of the blackhead out, also.
LoveeTrish
My biology teacher last year told me that she uses vinegar to treat sunburns. Her family would go to the beach and they forget to wear sunblock and get burns. Luckily my teacher always have a jar of vinegar when they are out. Rub the vinegar on the skin. She said it's suppose to cool the skin and not make the skin peel
Ramen-C
For a sore throat:
1/4 cup of honey + 1/4 cup of vinegar (or apple vinegar).

You're meant to have a teaspoon every 6 hours but I got impatient and had the whole thing. My throat stopped aching immediately but it did feel dry a lot throughout the day.

It didn't stop laryngitis but I got my voice back the next day (after 5 days).
Dayae
Well i heard vinegar if taken too many times is bad for your teeth and throat O.O!

And i posted one for sore throat; hershey's syrup.
My friend had a really bad throat and i told her about it, and she said that it tasted kinda gross as just syrup but got
rid of the dry feeling and coughing.
bubblegum-chum-cherry-bum

Yep :3 the yogurt should be PLAIN yogurt with no flavoring or anything!
Don't go and use like, yoplait whipped yogurts and stuff! Dx

Just spread it evenly over your face, let it dry for a bit, then wash off :3
Dont' worry if it's not on for over 15 minutes your face should be fine and refreshed/softy softy!

XD LMAO don't smash it into your face! That would cause so much irritation..O.O
Use either honey, aloe vera, just a bit of water, and mix the sugar with it. then put it on as a mask and abooot, 10 minutes later when you wash it off your skin will be very soft. Oh and you have to massage your face JUST A BIT [not too much!] with the mask, so that it exfoliates as well.

Well i recently found out they now have like Colgate toothpaste with baking soda in it, so i advise using that toothpaste.
Cause i wash my teeth with it and it's very salty and stuff...So minty would be much better :3
But if you're old school, then you can do just baking soda, and don't worry your breath won't smell at all after the baking soda.

Just tastes really funny..e-e!
porcelain
you can also put some baking soda into a glass of warm water and gargle (like you would with mouthwash) after you brush
Dayae
i warn you firsthand, that when doing anything with baking soda....BEWARE!

Tis very salty...and feels horrible in your mouth.
But EXTREMELY good for your face, teeth, mouth overall as a rinse, and pimples.

Oh for the lemon you need to put it ON your face. Ya' know, squeeze then apply and let dry for a bit? biggrin.gif then of course, you're going to wanna wash it off and maybe apply lotion if you have dry skin.

Caution caution- when you use toothpaste, lemon or baking soda for pimples or a mask or w/e mostly what it does is it

usually just dries out the pimple. So mostly recommended for people with oily or combination skin.
renax3
uh.. for the lemon/freckle thing.. do NOT put the lemon juice directly on your face. you always have to dilute it with some water, or else itll be too harsh for the skin.

Does anyone know any good remedies or tips for painful menstrual cramps?

Sick above the throat ~ cold, fever etc

Workout intensely but pay attention to your body and beware hurting yourself ~ could be a lot of intense running. Drinking water as well to kick up your immune system and help it out.

You can snap fevers in half and go from feeling like mini cooper to feeling the fever break and suddenly feeling many times better.

In the case of any premonition of a cold coming ~ buying 1-2 gallons of water ~ some fruit - and popping 5-10 vitamin C pills also would be pre-emptive action.

* and drinking those 1-2 gallons of water same day. not necessarily in one sitting!

wow...i've never heard of these remedies before!..

thanks for sharing! X3

I'll NEED to try the Baking Soda cuz i need to clear my Acne! im tired of having bad acne!
tinatran_
i've read in a magazine, that if you have a red pimple(s), you should apply Visine. it apparently works? but i wouldn't know cause i've never tried. XD
hyele128
i love all the baking soda ones!
i heard that if you want to whiten your skin, then taking a bath in baking soda helps.

For clear and glowyy skin..
make a sea salt paste and use it as a scrub/facial. i read somewhere that models use it to keep their face clear. I love using it as a scrub but it can be rough for some sensitive skin. You can apply it directly on a pimple and the redness goes down overnight.
dead sea salt is the best but you can also use epsom salt. but dont taste your face. epsom salt is gross. haha
dorothy.rah
For Sty(the red bumps on your eyelids)
Get a used teabag while it's still warm and gently place it on the infection
It reduces the swelling and if you catch it early, it's gone
greeenkiwi
Canker sores : Get Listerine mouthwash (other brands might work too; never tried) and gargle it for minute while making sure that it touches the canker sore. Spit out. You'll notice within a couple of days the sore will dry out and heal faster.

Dry elbows/knees : cut a lemon in half and rub it on your elbow. Pretend like you are juicing the lemon with your elbow. Rinse out and viola, any white flakes/dry skin gone.
wendee
FOR BLISTERS: Apply Vaseline on parts of the heels that normally gives you blisters on your feet
Dayae
OOH found out somethin' very interesting.

Vaseline on your eyelashes makes em longer apparently.
On lots of beauty forums, the vaseline has worked very well :3
XoAznDorkXo
^ oooo lol ill be sure to try that smile.gif
so do u just put it on your eyelashes? Kinda like mascara or something tongue.gif?
