I wouldn't say it's worth it. Part of the money is from the name (Dr.Dre) and to be honest, the sound quality isn't anything mind blowing. My future shop has sound booths for customers to walk in and test out the Dre and compare your headphones/earbuds into the slot next to it to see how it fares against. My Sennheinsers produced the same sound quality but slightly lacked bass. Well, it's earbuds versus a giant closed cup. I've tried out the Boss and Shure headphones offered in the store and I say those ones are much more worth the money. Besides, MONSTER overprices everything. =/

I say they're HOT but not quite worth the cash...as what Sam_Sik said you'll be practically payin' the name...
I got hooked on buying those too since it looks cool & said to be the best... but im still considering though lol....on sound quality it is proven to be good... but I haven't compared it yet to other brands...

I have the Beats earphones and I love them because of the tangle free cord. I'm getting the customized headphones as soon as I save up enough money ^^

The reviews tend to say that the sound is good but you're basically paying for the style and the name. (But when they look that sexy, I definitely would not mind shelling out some money.)
The headphones that 2NE1 have on were customized at Colorware. They're the same people who made the exclusive designs that sell up to $799 and they custom paint it to whatever you want for $500.

I got the black and red one a while back
To be honest, for a pair of $300 pair headphones, they weren't the bang I was expecting.
I sold them to a friend after 2 months for $200 and I'm using Bose triport in-ears.
Less bulky'ness, and ear canals ussually give more sound quality

I would like to buy a customized version, but only when I get a steady job lol. But I heard that for a celebrity marketed product, they are actually really good quality. Many reviewers expected the sound to be cheap, and it wasn't. Many reviewers also mention how comfortable the headphones were, especially for it's weight and size. The only thing I don't like is the double a batteries it uses. Erure, how long do your headphones last on the batteries?

Were they worth the money compared to similiar priced Sennheisers, Shure and Ultimate ears?

They were to me, but I don't know if that's true for everyone. I love the cord because it's really hard to get it tangled -- usually in my backpack there is a mess of headphone cord because sometimes I carry more than one

For me, the Shure earphones weren't that comfortable but these are. I can't really say much on the sound quality since I'm no audiophile -- I don't think I'm competent to make a judgment

I love my beats!!! Before my beats, I was using vmoda and shure headphones and i loved them both...but they didnt have enough bass for me. My whole family loves the beats, my brother has a pair and my dad just recently purchased a pair.

OMG. SO THAT'S WHERE I'VE SEEN THEM! D:
So my mom used to work at Monster Cable (the company that produced these headphones) and her really close co-worker friend gave me a pair as a gift for painting two plates for her home.. *_*~ She most likely got a HUGE employee discount for them though..
I personally was in shock when my mom said they were $300 O_O but I think design-wise it's very sleek, trendy, and clean. They are VERY comfortable and it does a pretty good job at noise canceling. (I couldn't really hear myself talk when I had them on) The headphone cords are a little too bulky/thick IMO but as erure mentioned above, it doesn't get tangled as easily which is always a plus. For me, the bass and sound quality is good enough for me but it may not be for others~ I haven't owned many high quality headphones to make a good judgment ^^;;

They're meant to be really nice because they are produced to have the same sound quality as studio headphones, Lady GaGa lives by them, their in alot of MVs like Eminem's We Made You, Lady Gaga's Poker Face, Keri Hilson's Knock You Down and in PCD's Jai Ho. Also are they only $300?? If I get them on british websites its about £300!!!

They're pretty nice design wise, but I tried these out (my friend has a pair) and IMO, the sound quality wasn't amazing, just average. I prefer my Sennheiser headphones. Personally, I would find it inconvenient to bring out a big pair of headphones all the time just in case I wanted to listen to music, so the design isn't a big deal to me. They're not worth their price.

i used to DJ professionally for a few years. i myself have Audio-Technica headphones. cost me $1200. gerat headphones. ive used these headphones and let me just say, all you're paying for is the brand... the best i would compare them to is the new skull candy heaphones for 129 dollars... (forgot the name) but only slightly better.

i nver understoood why there were such a hype for theses headphones till i went to the mac store and actuallly listened to one in person.
it's AMAZING. it was really loud in the mac store with over 30 customers talking and yelling about the ipod 30g and bam! i put it on silence and when i was listening to like jason marz's song i felt as if i was in my own world. i really want to get one of these

hopefully!

OMG. THESE ARE FRICKIN. AMAZING.
idk if u guys know but they're putting out pairs of these at best buy for you to demo and i was COMPLETELY blown away by the sound quality of these headphones. i own a pair of skullcandy G.I. headphones, and although I understand they can't really be compared since the GI ones don't have noise cancellation, the sound quality is PHENOMENAL. especially the bass--which is good for me since i LOVE bass. and really the noise cancellation works wonders. i couldn't hear my dad talking to me when i had them on without even any music playing.
just by looking at them you'd assume they don't work well and its all just for design, but really, the sound is just as good, if not better, than the design.
the only thing i think is that you kind of need high quality music too. but that's not a problem for me since im OCD and only download super HQ music (which have never been able to show their full potential until that day at the best buy store when i plugged the headphones into my ipod). it seems that the sound also bleeds a little, so people can hear ur music when u play it through the headphones, but i think thats just one con over like billions of pros. although they are kind of expensive, im still going to save up and get myself a pair. definitely not going to be able to afford the custom made ones though.
and i heard that the ones 2ne1 got were gifts from interscope since they used to work with dr. dre or something like that??
and also does anyone know if theres a difference between beats by dr. dre and monster beats?
