do you have many many interests or hobbies?
then share!
i'm into too many myself. food, fishing, cars, any kind of scaping, construction, art(minus paintings), technology, finance/economy, business, anime, fashion, martial arts, games(but decided to quit, can't afford time), and a bunch of other stuff. and all of those branch out into more detailed areas.
i've done a lot, but there's whole lot more on my to do list.
edit:
also, where could i meet people with multiple/many interests and hobbies?

I'm mostly into listening to classical music now. From time to time I'll paint/draw landscape type stuff or maybe even portraits. I still play piano and guitar...but mostly piano. I picked up reading again, I find that TV makes me angry nowadays. I used to be into tech crap but that went away with puberty and into fashion and whatnot.

It's hard to meet other people with as wide a range of interests. I only know two people who are like that, and meeting them was purely out of coincidence!
I'm into: fashion, architecture, digital art, international relations, the global water crisis, languages, travelling, culture, different forms of dance (house, lock, breaking), electronic music genres, and literature, and writing. It's hard to find someone to connect with on similar points when you have too many though.

My main hobbies are photography, playing flute, watching movies, and playing tetris (as sad as that sounds, it is my favorite game ever and I am quite good at it). Other interests include travel, toy & figurine collection, gaming (PS3, wii, PSP, DSi), food, anime, manga, manhwa, Korean music, reading, bowling (badly), golf (badly), rollerblading (badly), and cars and driving. I don't think I have a wide range of interests/hobbies.

i think another interesting question was how people ended up with their interests or hobbies..because I know for me it was kind of like a step-by-step process, lol..
i was interested in languages..which got me interested in traveling..and traveling around to different places got me interested in history, other cultures..which got me interested in food, etc etc. also literature, economics, politics are other big ones
i'm more of a social science than physical science (suck at math) person but have always been interested in astronomy too..not sure why
i'm actually surprised i'm not one of those people who changed their major half a dozen times
QUOTE

besides online..hmm..clubs (the non-alcoholic kind), different social groups..work, if your job is the type that attracts intelligent co-workers..really I think it's just random so the more people you meet the greater chance you have

Some interests: photography (I own several slrs and also a tlr), daily sketches in my moleskine sketchbook, disease & pathology as it's related to my career, military history, traveling, majorly girly stuff like handbags, fashion, skincare, and makeup. I also love the great outdoors and places seemingly untouched by civilization. Backcountry camping, roadtripping, hiking, landscape photography, you name it, I love it. Also love quiet time with books and reading light science magazines.
Other interests I would like to get into: cooking. I'm not very good at cooking

i want to know myself!
as for me, im into:
-outdoor stuff: fishing, hunting, camping, making bonfires, rock climbing, boating, mountain biking, hell even tree climbing
-building things.. anything from legos/knex to car parts to a tree house. even furniture is fun to assemble
-drugs(not exactly a proud aspect): mainly just pot, but i have been gettin a bit more experimental lately. i cant seem to find asian buddys who smoke bud!
-conversations while high... which covers astronomy, philosophy, religion, sociology, psychology, etc etc... along with random jokes
-debates while high... can last for days even... but surprisingly we come to an agreeable conclusion at the end
-cars. not too much into racing(yet), but i read automotive news.. and have my buddies who share similar interests/tastes
-recently got into reading books. been reading an autobiography on albert einstein
-poker.. or any sort of gambling, really.
-cooking every now and then. at least the eating part for sures.
-martial arts and sparring
-physics... def a new one
-love watching national geographic, bbc, history channel, etc... how can it not be interesting?!?
-huge into music. anything from hip hop to techno to country to classical. good music is good music.
-people. you can learn so much from others
-i still have this destructive urge.. i love breaking things.. lol
-sports. not too big into watching it on TV.. but im down to play whatever, whenever.
-shopping, usually only for my own stuff.
-movies
ehh i might as well make a shorter list of things i dislike lol
basically i seek adventure. been sorta failing at life as far as academics and success goes... but im workin on it

My hobbies are drawing, horse-riding, gaming (PS3, Wii, PC and anything retro), bowling, writing. I'm really into skin-care and hair-care products lol! I love wild-life documentaries and going to the zoo; K-pop and J-pop, languages and Disney movies!
I've never met anyone who shares a love of all these things, but it's okay, I can share some hobbies with certain people.

I guess I have a lot of interests and hobbies:
drawing (some painting, but I am too cheap to buy all the equipment for my new apartment)
singing (classic as well as pop)
reading and analyzing literature (I was an English major, so I need to keep my skills at top-notch)
watching and analyzing films
photography (I always have at least two cameras on me)
writing (poetry. I don't enjoy writing fiction or non-fiction)
researching random things for hours on end (a certain painting, historical event, etc)
guitar (4-5 nights a week)
piano (but I don't have a piano where I live now, so now, I do only guitar)
studying Korean and Spanish
fashion (this can also be translated into "shopping", but I enjoy researching it, as well)
bar hopping (go to an area with a few friends, find the weirdest looking bar, have a drink, and then go to another. Most of us do PR for different party/event groups, so it's in our best interest to know about the random and best places to go)
walking (this may sound lame, but I like to just take my ipod and walk around a part of the city that I've never been in)
club scene (this one is a new one. This year, I've become part of several event/party groups, so my weekends are packed with socializing with Seoul's "social elite"...hahaha...the kind of people you seen in all the party photos in a magazine and crap like that. Events like this dominate at least three evenings a week.)
kpop (um, it's fun to know about it...)

How did you get involved/part of the "social elite" in Seoul?
I went to a wine special advertised on facebook that a friend of a friend had set up, started hanging out with that crew on the weekends, then met this one guy who is really well connected (he's a producer in the Kpop music biz). Then, we met a few more guys (working for magazines or PR groups) at parties and we all got along well.
*I'm* not a "social elite", but it's enough to go to a hot party and know/be recognized by 1/3 of the people in the VIP. Connections lead to connections, which lead to connections. My friends and I don't really take it seriously, but it's fun to rub elbows with certain people and then laugh/talk about it the next day.

Here are a few of mine:

- playing sports (not very often, since I need to find people to play with!)
- comedies, documentaries, and psychological thrillers (movie, tv,...or youtube, hehe)
- creating my own sense of style (including discovering hidden gems in second-hand stores)

I think having too much of a wide range of interest isn't healthy FOR ME
I don't seem to focus. it's like having ADHD or ADD. let me clarify.
when you have one or two interest, you tend to focus and achieve the highest quality of knowledge towards that interest.
making you a guru, which in return, you will be noticed as a "skilled" individual.
I'll be honest. I'm into a lot of stuff and I've experienced this directly
I'm into photography, guitar, education, survival, electronics, medicine, literature, language, cars, working out, games and more.
I know about 1/3 of everything I'm interested in, and I'm utterly not satisfied. for ex: i've been learning the guitar for about a year, and i've learned a couple of songs that i like. but i still don't know fundamental knowledge about the guitar. (scales, rhythm, etc) Why? i'm not focused or dedicated. once i'm done playing one or two songs on the guitar, i start exercising. Exercising your biceps has nothing to do with guitar..
ya, so just a heads up, even tho i have broad knowledge about all sorts of stuff. it's useless in the end.
edit -
but then again i guess it's just simple everyday interest thread. i must be overreacting.

^ Yeah, the way people are posting would make them seem like they have ADHD. I bet they're just posting everything they're interested in.

Exactly how I feel. These past few months or so I've been indulging in these hobbies and they totally feed into my creativeness and that makes me incredibly happy, but honestly, spread out way too thin! I'm narrowing my focuses so I can be the best I can be rather than learning half-ass knowledge or techniques when I can polish my skills for a true understanding of the skill.
