Was wondering when I find a thread for art student.
I graduated from Art Institute of Vancouver - Game Arts program.
Now I'm heading back to school to SFU or Capilan University for their Traditional Art program.
Some of your sketches are really nice Charles. How many years you have left at Ringling College?

Lol, it's hard to get a job right now period. Good news is it's a great time to go to school, because the world should recover by the time you are out. Art careers tend to be challenging to get, but are also very rewarding.
If you read, "A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future" he argues that in the near future designers and artists will be extremely vital.
I am going to school for illustration. It's a VERY hard path, but everyone is only given one life so I am going to use that one life to chase my dreams :] and I suggest the same for everyone.
Reason I'm returning to school, no one wants to hire me. =( And people that actually gave me a chance, hired an animator instead.

Nice, concept art field is a tough one to get into right now. It has kind of become a popular thing since conceptart.org. My friend Dan just graduated (http://danieladrover.carbonmade.com/) and everyone is telling him he needs experience in the game industry before they will hire him.
Honestly, it's nice to hear some non-specialized colleges have good art programs, because the specialized schools have killer costs.
Also: nice painting, I like that a lot. Vaguely reminds me of Jon Foster.
That is so true, but hey, they ask that for any position when your applying in the game industry, well... for well known company that is. Smaller company expect that you are diverse from all range (animation-art-programmer)
Have to agree that those paintings are quite nice.
Bestest luck on all of us.
