Hello!
This is a challenge on how much we can lose in 30 days. I encourage anyone who have the desire to lose weight to join. I know that sometimes it's hard in the beginning or a start of a diet, but I hope this thread keeps going so that everyone who participates can get some daily inspirations or motivations.
I was thinking that each day (depending on whether you have the time to) each participant would either post what they eat and how they worked out that day, or just post and update on how you're doing. And if you screw up, its okay to post it and tell us about it cause, don't worry, I'm pretty sure I'll understand how you're feeling and help you through it! Overall, just post what you feel like posting up.
The challenge (if it happens, so let's have to participants!) will start tomorrow, July 15, 2009

I would like to join but I might not be able to start tomorrow, because I'm kinda sick right now. I'll post when I do start and I'll update at least weekly if that's okay. I'll edit later to add what I plan on doing.

I'd love to join!! If I had a scale........ -__- Does anyone know where to buy one or can recommend a good/cheap scale? I've been dying to get one for a long time. I couldn't find any at Walmart, but does Target or Bed, Bath, & Beyond have one? Once I get the scale, I'll probably start this, but I'll do my best to lose weight until I get a scale.

yeah i think target has some
i do recommend them because i think they have better quality products
but i think its a bit pricey, like $30 or maybe the cheapest is like $20 -25
i'll let you know if i find out any other cheaper scales(:

i would have to rename this to '24 day challenge' for me. i need to lose at least 10 more pounds before going back to Canada to see my family.

currently standing at 56.5kgs... i'm aiming for 53kgs.

All the extra hours at work and ridiculous sleeping schedule has made me a pig this summer. I haven't had time to eat so I've been eating dinner past 8.. sooo I'll start tomorrow (7/16) b/c I'm in Korea at the moment and the 15th already started XD
I want to lose as much weight as possible before going back to the states... let's see how we will do!

Cool, I'm in. I've been exercising and whatnot recently, but this week we've been eating late the whole time so it's T_____T. I want to lose 15 pounds by the end of summer.
Height: 5 feet
Weight: 115 lbs
Goal: 100 lbs
Starting Thursday, since I won't be having summer school, I want to aim for at least 1 and a half hours of exercise everyday.

I have one suggestion about this challenge:
It should be about percentage of weight lost.
A 200 pound person losing 10 pounds loses 5% of their body weight.
A 100 pound person losing 10 pounds loses 10% of their body weight.
Oh, and please keep in mind that doctors recommend you should NEVER lose more then 2% of your body weight per week (unless you're morbidly obese).

kay, so my weight doesnt usually change, so ill just try to lose inches.
name: tasha
height: 5'6 (well, a teensy bit shorter)
weight: 120 lbs
goal weight: 115
measurements: 34-24-36, with legs that are 21 inches.
goal measurements: 18 inch thighs, and a 23 inch waist.
but basically to lose fat. and change my lifestyle.
so today, i had a small bowl of cheerios for breakfast, an everything bagel (yuck) with cream cheese and a peach for lunch, and half a granola bar.
im gonna try to drink a lot of water too.
i try to do at least 30 mins of exercise every day (either running, biking, or swimming) and go faster or farther each day.
will update.

yes! i like your suggestion. i think its more interesting than just trying to watch the pounds drop
and like everyone's been saying, i also think it's more about to toning up and losing inches too.

Actually, I've been trying to lose weight since may. I had my grad during the last week of may, and so I needed to shape up for prom which was on June 26th. Anyway, in the middle of may I weighed a whopping 136.8pounds. That was my peak. And so fast forward two months later. I had lost 14.2 pounds. I'm proud of myself, and would like to continue shedding the excess weight off.

lunch - egg, rice, and steam vegetables (321)
dinner - egg, steamed vegetables, and spicy kung pow chicken (394)
snackk - pear (81)
workout
i had a crazy morning practice for my badminton team LOL i was dripping sweat for like 2 hours
and i'm about to have an evening jog and do about 200 crunches and some weight lifting

I was at my best last summer at around 123 lbs... then the school year went bleh on me and I started gaining lots of weight.
Day1
-Tae-Bo workout for ~30 minutes
-Power walking/treadmill for ~10 minutes
-Swimming for ~30 minutes
-Ate less for lunch and dinner, snacked a bit on Chex Mix <-- boo.

I started working out last week.
Jogging a mile every other day.
And on days that I don't, I ride my bike around.
Stats:
Height- 5ft 4.75 inches.
Current Weight- 127lbs
Goal weight- 110lbs
I'm size 5 currently.

Yeah, The food I ate today wasn't so healthy.

I really wanna lose weight by the end of August, before I go shopping for new school clothes.
I want to lose all the weight before I clothes shop, so I don't waste money.

Breakfast - Soymilk (70)
Brunch - Japchae (300)
Snack - Nori with rice (160)
Dinner - Rice with beans, fishball, bitter melon &radish (420)
total calories : 920
exercise : one hour power walk, 10 jumping jacks, &10 mins. of pilates.
extra notes : my eating schedule is all whack! Both of my classes starts around my eating time so it's hard to adjust...

I don't have a scale right now but the last time I weighed myself, I was 46kg, but now I think I'm over 48kg. T_T
Planning to lose about 2kg or so and maintain my previous weight. (:

Last year I went on the treadmill religiously ^^
It's important to pace yourself and take 'small steps' each day to get better [:
At first I was really slow... went on about 3 mph
Then over a few months i increased to about 5.5 mph, running about a mile everyday.
For me, it works to start small and make small adjustments each week.
If you really want to push yourself increase the incline~ I'm at about 3.5 incline right now?

Since that is the case - I'd love to cook up some healthy but good things. Just not sure on what exactly
As for the treadmill, is it good to warm up for a certain amount of time and then get to it?
I love hiit, but if there are any other programs that are good, can you suggest a few?

IKEA has a great, cute little scale. It's pretty small, about a foot x afoot? It cost about 7 bucks at most.
I'm 4'11" and 3/4 at 103 lbs.

I want to be 95 lbs :/ But I eat a lot. hahaha. I already lost 2 lbs.

well, start by buying more fruits and veggies you can make a lot of meals with just vegetables and fruits.
for example, fruit smoothies with fruits and vegetables just to fillup a plate.
cereal is good too, like for breakfast
as for dinners or lunches, sandwiches (try whole wheat) and just get some chicken from the supermarket and cook them yourself, pairing it up with your veggies can be good too

This is a great idea~ And hopefully I can tone up a bit as well
It's summer and all my meals are up to me to cook since my mom isn't here
So hopefully I can get some interesting and healthy recipes from you guys =]
I am female, standing at 5'2" and weighing in at around 110lbs. I'm aiming to lower my weight to maybe around... 100lbs.
And the only workout I get right now is the treadmill + dancing XD
Occasionally I walk around the mall for a few hours or I jog/walk to the park, which is like... a mile away x]
