Yup, it's coming up and I'm trying to have one for not-too-expensive, yet fun & crazy.
I can't do house party because I have absolutely no idea what to plan for.
VIP at some club since I like to dance, not so much into drinking but I guess that's for my friends (That should run about 300-400???)

I went to work at 2 AM - 12 PM then went to class .

^ Ouch. My 21st Bday was pretty much working alone in a lab all from 2pm to 12am. No exaggeration. But I had a kickass party that weekend in my apartment.

Anyways, a hotel party sounds nice. Remember to gets lots of alky. (Getting VIP at a club is a bit overkill when you're a girl. You're VIP just by being there.)

I think I was helping lananhcali18's parents figure out how they were going to celebrate her 1st birthday party.

Friends threw a karaoke party for me and they got me trashed, since I suck at those drinking games.
21 ppl showed up and I had to drink 21 glasses of beer cuz that's what they do for bdays.

& thats why I hate beer.

I had three celebrations cause that is what I tend to do. One with boyfriend, one with all friends, one with the family. Family is always going out to dinner, so that is nothing new.

Boyfriend we decided to be low key, we went to Plaster Fun Time where you pick an object molded out of plaster and paint it yourself. We decided to paint something for each other which made it more fun. Then we ordered a pizza, rented a REALLY crappy movie with 3-D glasses and made fun of it the whole time. Then I met some friends at a bar afterward for a short time just to celebrate me being able to get in. My birthday is the day before Halloween so the bar was crazy full of people in costumes.

Then I had a costume birthday party on halloween, my friends were nice enough to let me host it at their apartment. I bought a plastic pumpkin head drink dispense and filled it with spiked punch, bought pizzas, made gravestone cookies with everyone's name on it, pumpkin patch cakes, mini pumpkin cheesecakes (I like baking, and I like hosting parties) and we all played a murder mystery game where everyone was assigned a character and had to find out who the murderer is.

It is nice mixing in a very fun holiday with my birthday cause everyone can be silly My 22nd birthday lies on a Friday this year so it should be a lot of fun!

Went to a bar and had 1 drink with the boyfriend. I think I ended up getting sick. Yeah.. birthdays aren't really a big deal for me. lol.

I went out to the clubs with my oldest brother, cousin, and other people. I went in and 30 minutes later with 6 drinks, got me puking. All my food from Wendy's in the bathroom. I don't remember much after that >__<

Had dinner the night before with friends. Then went to the bars on the next day with my friends that were 21 and got buzzed and had class the next morning. Made up for it the week later and got TRASHED at a club to the point where I perfected the stair crawl and went to work the next morning! oh yeah! the life of the young!


Hotel party would be fun. But ahhah I like get my free drinks.

For my 21st i went out with 3 friends to the clubs, danced, had a pre party at home before clubbing. In all it was good.

WOW so large group of friends. I suppose you could hire a karoke machine for home, dance/sing along, ur friends if they wish to drink they want, also maybe a ddr mat thingy also for dancing..not sure xD

I went to an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and ordered massive amounts of Bulgogi and Soju. We then migrated to the karaoke rooms to sing along to the Backstreet Boys.

My best friend and I had a 21st birthday bash thrown by our two families. It was really cool because it was catered and decorated, and it was supposed to be a surprise but we found out about it.

I think just getting together with close friends and chilling is a good way to go.

Well my 21st birthday was January 2009, so... what did I do.. HMMMMMMMMM!
My sister bought fruit cake for me, it was delicious! It was like a family birthday,
I didn't invite any friends this time like I usually invites friends for my birthday.

But it was really nice, at least I'm thankful that my family still cares for me hehe.
And my boyfriend was there too! OHH now I remember! Before eating birthday
cake at home, we ate at Cheesecake Factory!! My mom, my boyfriend and my sister's
boyfriend paid some too. It was my first time going to Cheesecake Factory and wow
they had lots of foods there!! >__< I'm actually surprised that I went there for my birthday,
never imagined to eat there ever, but yayy

I guess it would be 19th birthday for me since legal drinking age is 19 for us here in Canada. When I turned 19, I took my friends paintballing then brought them over to my house for a house party. I'm not into clubbing to much for parties because you barely get to hang out with everyone invited and it just seems to be a time to cam-rainbow for the girls. Nothing special to me.

House and hotel party are pretty much the same, but hotel party you can get kicked out for noise...Why not have a house party instead? If you want to dance, you can set up good speakers and dance with people there

Went snowboarding with my family. No alcohol. XD I'm not much of a party-house person, I like going on trips, long walks, parks and arcades related type of stuff.

sunday-parents did a lil dinner for me and decorated the house, it was cute.

I think the most important thing is to spend it with people you actually like!!

Lol mine was spent at a fancy hotel lounge with an in house singer who sang like Michael Buble. Close friends, yummy food, presents and a hotel room to party some more

You should do that party bus thing where you go to a couple clubs all throughout the city and just party like crazy lol

for my 21st bday last year, i didnt get to do anything since it was during the week. but, i DID manage to start my new job that day, too! so i guess it wasn't too bad of a birthday =)

My birthday is during the school year and I had an exam the next day, so I didn't celebrate. My roommate took me out for Indian food, which was new for her and although the food was spicy and the aftermath...unpleasant, it was a really nice day for me. My roommate decorated our apartment while I was asleep because she's a sweety pie! My birthday is around reading week, so when I got home I got to celebrate with them. Nothing big, I like to keep it casual.

My 21st birthday last year was the most tiring but fun birthday celebrations ever! I partied three times. One, in our house with my family and relatives, second, on my friend's house who happened to be celebrating her 21st birthday too, and lastly at the office. It's unforgettable. I had a blast!

Lol, I turned 21 last week. At exactly 12 midnight on my birthday, my s/o took me out to the liquor store to buy my 1st liquor, haha. The cashier was all "Happy Birthday!"

His parents and everyone said happy bday and my friends got me a late-night gift. The following morning, he took me out to this really nice italian restaurant and later that night we all went clubbing with friends. It was a fun birthday

My friends took me drinking and bought me more alcohol then I ever drank before. We had dinner first which helped cover the stuff I took in, and by the end of the day I was spewing all kinds of inappropriate conversations and apparently asked an ex from 7 years ago whether or not she was still interested.

It was fun!

Got a manicure, shopping, went to dinner with friends then hung out at a desert place. The legal age here is 19 so 21 isn't as big as it is in the US.

i've been drinking way before 21 in the US and it's not particularly hard to get drinks or get into places that serve alcohol so its not that big for me.

My ended up on a Monday so it was School and work...after work my friends and i got drunk....hahaha (i wish)

I worked during my 21th birthady but i had a party the next weekend with my bestfriend who was also celebrating her 21th birthday! we went to a club with friends and finally to the beach and drank until 10.00 am XD
it was pretty fun!

Started the day with a nice pre-drink at home, followed by another pre-drink with a few mates at their house, then we all went to a bar where I met up with more friends to pre-drink for the 3rd time! By this time, i was totally wasted.
We then proceeded to go to a club and I was surprised i didnt wake up in the hospital the next day.

Good times.

First off godfathers pizza hut with the family. After two sisters and cousin took me out to three different bars. At the third one other cousin and her man joined in.
Kept buying me different drinks.Buzzed.
After sobering up decided no more drinking in the future. Stuff taste like hairspray.

same here! I'm in canada soo, my 19th was quite something.

Just like every other September... I had exams! *hiss* *boo* ... This time though, I might be going somewhere, as with the nature of calendars and years, the days get pushed back and forth (which direction I forget) and now my birthday sits right at the end of the breaks before exams. But it would be my 22nd birthday. Oh well, I don't think 21st's are that special anyway (insignificant number in my view...)

My 21st birthday is tomorrow, and I'm going to spend it going to LSAT class. Lovely. : (

I never threw a party for my birthdays after my 18th. Just the fact that I'm getting so old annoys me. So for my 21st, my parents asked me "what do you want for your big 21st birthday?!?!?!" I told them I didn't want anything, I didn't want to throw a party to remind me of my old age. (Gosh I wish I was... 16 again, lol.) But they wouldn't stop talking about how it's an important age, blahblahblah... so I said "ok I want to go Japan with my friend". Then it really happened, they bought me tickets for my trip to Osaka.
