Ok! So I didn't see any threads for this and I went bout 4/5 pages back into the thread.
I dont know much about the Zune so yeah.

I can find the zune cheaper but I really want the wifi that comes with the ipod touches.
Can anyone tell me what generation does the Zune start having wifi? I really want it with wifi. Thanks soompiers (:

Zune HD is not out yet, but from what they say it will actually have a browser like the touch. http://gizmodo.com/tag/zune-hd/ (just look at a few of the posts)
The other Zune models DO have wifi, except it is only used for music sharing and syncing.

Maybe wait for september? Dunno when apple will announce the next batch of touches but it might be then from random things I read. http://gizmodo.com/5319358/rumor-ipod-touc...crophone-coming

I dont really know a lot about Zunes but if you do get a ipod touch I say wait until September because that is when Apple usually releases new models or there stuff, and rumor has it the third generation of the ipod touch is supposed to be coming out.

There's a rumor that the new ipod nano and touch are getting cameras.

^Don't count on that though O_O who knows who's giving out that info.

But in my opinion, it really depends on which one you think looks better. Both of them are equalized. They have features the other doesn't.
Also, think of managing music. I personally find iTunes very easy to manage music. I'm not sure about Zune, since I don't own one.
Look up reviews online. Battery life, built quality, screen clarity etc.

The Zune is better than comparable iPod classic, nanos, shuffle.

However the current Zune cannot compete with the iPod touch, nor does the HD that is coming out seem to be able to. The Apple and third party support behind the touch is too strong.

The Zunes have better sound quality than iPods though.

I've used friends' ipods and I have a zune.
I prefer Zunes.
In fact I've owned 3.
The first, 30 GB, I had for a long time until the new 2nd gen came out so I bought that, the 80 GB.
I loved it, but sadly someone broke into my car and stole it about 1/2 a year into using it.
I have the smaller one now, 8 GB, and I'm waiting for the HD to come out.

There is suppose to be wifi with internet, can't wait.

Australians are urged NOT to buy the Zune until Microsoft properly port it in retail shops..so dodgy..I really want one haha

I've had my zune for 3 years now..the white first generation 30gig one. I love love love it. I choose my old sturdy zune over the ipod touch LOL. The wifi and all the extra cool stuff on the ipod touch is nice and all but the zune does everything i need it to and i just like how it looks better.

I'm waiting for the zune HD to come out on sept. 15. For 16GB, for approx. $220 (US) it is a much better deal than an ipod touch that has 8GB and is around the same price. If you're looking into wi-fi, the Zune HD will have it. Plus, it is nice to have and see something different from most people.
dudeilovefood
zune looks more sleek and cool like the i touch while as the ipod is more casual small and common

I had a zune and after a month it froze on me. I sent it to Mircosoft to which they told me that there was nothing can do to fix my Zune. So I tired fixing it and even getting a new battery. That didn't work so I gave up on it all together. Buy and ipod. It is worth the money you pay for it especially if you're getting the touch.

I read that Zune has better sound quality...so yeah I prefer the sound quality over anything else.

The point of having a Zune is to listen to music, why would you need other applications on it.....

In a week or two, Microsoft will be releasing the ZuneHD and new software/firmware and Apple will be having a conference which is speculated to be announcing a new iPod Touch (with camera and mic).

Wait a month. Check out the reviews for both.
I'm just excited that the Zune will finally support Unicode.

I highly doubt tsai's story. If it's under a month, they would repair it under warranty or replace it with a refurbished one. If it froze up, it's likely that the HDD went back or there was impact/liquid damage, hence the lack of coverage.

I'm definitely getting a Zune HD. I got two 32GB preordered. I had a 32GB touch and just sold it to make way for the Zune.

It comes down to what you're looking for.

If you want music first and foremost go with a Zune and get a Zune Pass.
If you want a micro PC, go with the iPod Touch and its every growing app catalog.

Zune's have a better DAC's than iPods, hence the higher fidelity of the audio. They're made by Wolfson Microelectronics.

I've never had an ipod but I've had a zune. It was that slim one in red. I don't know what model but it had the wifi. The wifi doesn't really matter unless you have friends who own a zune. What's great about it is that if it freezes and you can't fix it, you can request for a new one and they'll send you a box to send your broken zune. the process takes less than a month. The sound quality is really good too. If you save pictures on it you can use it as a background or the ones that they already put in for you (they look pretty awesome too. That's because the company is kind of artsy). Video is pretty good quality as well. In my opinion I think the Zune looks much better than the iPod but get one that doesn't get your finger smudges all over it. Too bad someone stole my zune TT-TT I'm getting a new one when I have the money.

Zune is also having their own little application shop, this might be very interesting since we do not really know what's in the shop.

If you are looking between Zune and iPod for pure music only, definitely Zune.

I am all for Zune, but Zune's don't work with Macs and since I just bought a new Mac there's no use in me buying a Zune. I love Apple personally for all the pretty stuff, but sound quality which is most important in an MP3 player (go figure) the Zune takes it.

I had the first and second gen Zune and I was fairly happy with it. But honestly, nothing beats the iTunes Store if you want TV Shows, movies, and music.

a majority of the people i know have iPods and i haven't seen a Zune in my group of friends. my cousin bought the first generation from the States and it looks pretty neat. i'm still wondering if i should get one, since i lost the cord to my Samsung YP-S5 with built-in speakers. -__-''

Sold my iPod Classic to make way for my (hopefully-soon-to-be) Zune HD.
I'm in Canada though, and the Zune HD isn't available here yet..
I might buy one when I visit family in the states, so until then, I shall wait. (:
