I've had no experience with Philips mp3s but I already had two creative mp3s (Zen Stone and Zen Mosaic). What I can say about Creative is that they're pretty good snatch for a cheap price. smile.gif The only thing I don't fancy is the small memory. Well, I don't know if 4GB will be ok for you, but it seems lacking to me. But anyway, I'll pick Creative any day.

Get the zune.
You can 'steal' songs from other zune users and it's features are nice & pretty affordable.

but if i'd have to choose between these two, it would be the creative zen wink.gif
the last hour.
I had that exact creative zen and it doesn't work anymore. A month in to it it just stop turning on. Frustrating thing. That wasn't the first time I had used a zen, before I had a mp3 zen years back, it had some sort of malfunction and i couldn't hear anything from it. I don't know if it was just my bad luck, but I haven't looked twice at a zen after those two incidents. I don't know much about the Philips. I would personally use either the zune, or ipod.

The Zen has multiple problems:
1. The SD card does not integrate with your main library
2. White screen of death gets really annoying especially with the black zen =T i owned a black zen and exchanged it for a red zen and had no issues
3. The entire player is plastic therefore not very durable
4. Battery can run out quick fast
5. Screen can be scratched easily if not careful

Overall, I was pretty impress with the Zen's sound quality and customization.
