Driving on the freeway is a little more difficult at first because you have to watch out for signs. You also have cars on your left or right or both. And you have to be able to react faster and know when to brake.

I dunno, but I don't really think the freeway is that hard. The hardest thing about the freeway (or scariest) is entering/merging onto the freeway. Otherwise, when there's a lot of room, its nice and relaxing.
When there's a car coming while you're trying to enter, you need to decide if you have enough room to speed up and comfortably get in front of it, or if you need to wait and let it pass. Its just that sometimes drivers will try really hard to get in front of you while you're entering and other times drivers will slow down really bad to let you in when it would have been easier to just drive by. But most of the time, there isn't too much trouble getting in. Once in a blue moon ^^.
Otherwise, freeway is easy. The only thing is that you're going a lot faster. And do look around (at mirrors). Pay a lot of attention to whats in front of you, but do glance around to see whats happening around you. You never know when a police/ambulance going to come along or when a motorcyclist is driving by. Or when you're in someone's blind spot and they don't bother to look there and tries to merge in...

no the freeway is pretty easy once you get used to it. no traffic lights or stop signs
the only part that might be frustrating is merging when you enter or exit especially during rush hour. also if you drive in the right-most lane then there will be people merging into your lane at the entry points. don't be an idiot and speed up when the other person is obviously going faster than you were before.
slow people go on the right lane, fast people on the left lane, and if you're in-between-ish then go in the middle lanes. this is how it generally goes. there's usually a lot of passing and jumping on the left side of the freeway so if you're easily scared then stay more on the right half.

It's easier then driving in the city. It's more fast paced. Goodluck!

It's nice cause you can actually use cruise control. Lol.
Just don''t hesitate too much. It's a lot more likely that you'll
want to speed a bit more on small roads after going on
freeway/highway.

the only thing that suck about driving on the freeway is entering the freeway or changing lanes (: that's all, make sure you go 65 though (: and nothing slower than that or you'll fk another drivers up : D

It has it's up and downs.
I think it's easier to drive than the city. However.... here on the freeway, speeds are much higher and one little mistake can be devastating. So, always pay attention, don't talk on the phone, stay in your lane, ALWAYS signal, ALWAYS look over your shoulder to check out your blind spot (unless you have one of those GIANT rear view mirrors so you get the panoramic view)
When you merge, look over to the lane your merging into, and GUN IT.
Check over your shoulder, and if there are no cars, SPEED UP.
If you go slower than oncoming traffic and they hit you, it could be potentially worse than if you sped up and matched their speed.
Best advice I can tell ya..... always keep alert, know where you are, know when cars are coming and going in and out of your lane.

Merging would probably be the hardest and the scariest part of highway driving but after you overcome or know how to drive correctly, it should be easy.
Highways and city drive is totally different. I hope you realized this by now.

You should figure out what you can see from the use of your mirrors and what you can't. A lot of beginner drivers don't understand their blind spots and most of the accidents that happen on the freeway are due to improper lane change. A car can be in your blind spot at any time on the freeway. And be aware to stay out of anyone else's blind spot as well if you can help it.

Freeway is much easier depending on your engine.
If you have a V6, you'll experience absolutely no issues on the freeway. Drive as normal, and gas up when your speed falls. It pulls wonderfully on hills, and accelerates lovingly on passing and merges.

driving on the freeway is really easy and fun.

its a lil nervewrecking at first cuz you have to merge and make lane changes,
but you just gotta be careful, make sure you look over ur shoulders, check ur mirrors, all that precautionary stuff.
its really a pain when ur stuck in traffic but when its not too bad, you'll love it.
i was a little effy about driving on the freeway at first, but now i prefer it over city driving anyday.

I used to fear the freeway. It was because I was paranoid of getting into an accident. Especially on a freeway. It's worst than local accidents. Most of them, anyways. I pretty much love the freeway now because as long as you're careful and aware of your driving and other cars, you're fine.

When I use to live in SF I tried my best to avoid the Freeway, iono I hate the 180. But now that I'm in China people here drive... crazy. I'm afraid to drive here, I mean people cut lanes here and there all the time. It's a bit scary.

the only crazy thing about freeways are the drivers LOL.
You need to lookout for motorcycles.
You need to make sure you know what freeways you need to merge into and what exits you need to get off at.
Other than that it's pretty relaxing except if you live and go to school/work in LA -.-

Well not necessarily. If youve got a big a$$ car with a v6 *ahem, base model Explorer* or some sort of ghetto old V6 *ahem, OHV older Taurus* youd still have problems. Yeah, i really dislike ford : D

Just drive regularly. Not much of a difference but pay attention to oncoming cars and such especially when switching lane.

for the love of GOD, dont slow down the left lane. i john teshing rage when there are slow people on the left.
stick to the middle until u learn to go with the flow of traffic + since u are learning to drive, stick to the right side at the first sign of your exit coming up.
