I had Halo Halo (sp? I think that's what it's called) for the first time about a week ago!

Now, I'm not Filipino so it's the first time I've tasted any kind of Filipino dessert/food. And my, it was so good! The corn was kinda weird to me at first, but yums!

Anyone else like Halo Halo here? And can anyone else recommend any other Filipino desserts/dishes? I want to try them all now! (:

I love Halo Halo, specially during summer. The best thing ever.

Halo halo's great. My parents have been making almost everyday this summer. haha. Personally, I don't have other Filipino desserts that compare to halo halo, but something I like is puto. It's kinda a rice cupcake?

I used to eat halo halo every single day at around 3pm it became a family tradition

i like halo-halo but not those bean-like things in it. i like the leche flan of course. people usually order this when it's summer time or when it's too warm outside.

If you enjoyed halo halo then I suggest you try the other cold desserts.

My personal favorite is Buko Pandan. It's made of coconut and pandan-flavored jelly

Mais Con Yelo( sweet corn + condensed milk= super sweet and yum)


If you're ever in the Philippines, try Razon's halo halo. They're the best I've ever tasted. 10x!
It doesn't have as much "ingredient" as other colorful halo halo, but don't be deceived by it's dull/plain appearance lol, they put a special coconut syrup that makes the taste heavenly.

i only like halo halo when the ice is finely shaved.

but in hawaii we have a place called golden coin where the ube ice cream is a soft serve... like taro yogurt.

and i'm not filipino either but i grew up with them and i love babinka, and that's butter mochi.
not too fond of the fruit cocktail and shreded coconut in evaporated milk but it's good sometimes.
and you can't forget banana lumpia and leche flan.

I love halo halo. My mom used to make it all the time. It tastes really good on a hot day. (: You should try leche flan, puto, and babinka too. They're all really tasty.

Woah..I've never heard of Halo Halo before.
Judging from the pictures, it looks really good. I definitely want to try these someday.

I am a filipina and I grew up in Halo-Halo, I love it specially in summer. Sure don't forget to taste leche plan, bibingka, puto, palitaw, banana que, sweet tomato que or kamote que, and a lot more. My american in laws love leche plan.

I love Halo Halo!! I've only had it once though while I was in Cerritos, at a restaurant called Goldilocks. My favorite part of it was the Ube Ice Cream because it's not too sweet

As suggested above: get yourself some leche flan! Mmmm.
Palitaw, puto, & turon isn't so bad either.
... I suddently have a new wave of cravings.

I usually just eat the purple ube ice cream and the carnation milk (or whatever that milky liquid is lol). YUMMM.
Then I would give the rest to my parents or pick out all the jello looking pieces. Lol.

LECHE FLAN, BUKO PIE (coconut pie),
GINATAAN (I don't really know the English translation for that.. it's with glutinous rice, jackfruit, small tapioca (sago) pearls, sweet potato, banana, and many more. It can actually pass as a hot halo halo, imo.)

i haven't tried halo halo, but in Vietnam, we have something similar called "che". 8D

I recommend Brazo de Mercedes (it's pretty much a sponge cake roll that creme filling ^__^)
