Have you guys ever had childhood traumas with certain foods and never touched them again afterwards?
As an example:
When I was in elementary school I LOVED corn on the cob to the extreme that one time I was eating a corn and I remember throwing up so badly that I never touched corn again, until yesterday (about a good decade). Needless to say, I couldn't chew the corn and had to throw it away haha.
I was just wondering if this was normal >.> haha~

haha, you're normal ;p
not me, but my friend's cousin (5th grade) ate broccoli one time
when she went to the bathroom, she saw a worm wriggling on her braces.
probably never touched the stuff ever again, i assume. haha...

My elementary school's bean and cheese burrito! It was the nastiest thing I've ever tasted in my life. I threw up right after I ate it. For a while I was even telling people that I was allergic to re-fried beans. I love burritos now but I still always order it with no beans.

I remember on a school orchestra trip we went to a Greece restaurant, and guess what I ordered... Pancakes/Eggs/Sausages/Toast/Bacon (regret!) even before that trip I hated breakfast foods, but I still got it anyways. Well once I got home after the trip, I threw up straight onto the carpet, to this day the smell of breakfast food lies (?) on my carpet. DAMN BREAKFAST FOODS I HATE YOU!

I was 'bitten' on the tongue by the pineapple when I was young and it hurt like crazy.I refused to touch pineapples after that but there was once when I was about 8 or 9,my mom convinced me to give it another go.She guaranteed that it wouldn't 'bite' because she had done everything to prevent that from happening,or so she said.I ate it and it 'bit' me again!! I never touched pineapples ever since unless they're those that comes in a tin can.

I was 7 and saw a poor cow get butchered in front on me with giant machetes and a gun while tied down. o_O
Henceforth, I don't eat red meat. Only thing would be ground beef patties =(

One time I hate like two boxes of those chocolate things, whoppers I believe. And that night & the next day I was SO sick. I was laying on the couch crying because my stomach hurt so bad. That was 3 years ago and now just thinking about whoppers makes me sick. Blaaaaah.

Canned green soy milk, possibly pandan flavored. When I was 5, I came back from the grocery store with my mom and cracked open a tall boy of the stuff. I loved it so much I drank 3 more cans and eventually threw up my stomach's contents. To this day, I can barely stand the smell of soy milk much less drink it.

A lot of the posts involve vomiting @_@; (including mine)
I remember one time I was participating in this fasting thing at my friend's church. After 2 days they gave out snacks, but all they had were Choco pies. So that day all I had were those Choco pies.. Barfed like hell after.. I can't stand to look at them now lol. Just looking at them makes me cringe. -sigh-

I used to always drink milk when I was young. Probably 3~4 years old. Then one day, my parents gave me a different kind of milk and I puked after taking a sip of it. Stopped drinking milk ever since that faithful day.

Seafood.
At the time I was like 5 and living in China, one day at school during lunch, we were served rice with fish and other things. I was eating the fish, and I swallowed a tiny bone. I started choking and crying cause it hurt so much.
It was such a long time ago, but today I am still wary of any seafood, unless it's 100% boneless

I'm allergic to them, so we freeze them (somehow it helps) and.. somehow my mom got garlic (it's not garlic, but it's something similar-ily nasty) in it and I bit into it
UUUUUUUUUUGH. GROSS
even after I spit it out and brushed my teeth and tongue for like 10+ minutes I could still feel the taste
and smell it

When I was younger. My aunt bought for me like a huge packet of jelly beans. I took like half of the packet and it made me so sick. I felt so sick and I refuse to see and eat jelly beans again. But now, I only take like 2-3 and eat them. Thats the maximum.

I hated mascots and clowns back then.
I remember I was in sixth grade, we went to an amusement park, and I peed in my pants because my teachers forced the class to take a picture with Tweety. lol.

This is not exactly a childhood drama, but 2-3 months ago, I decided to have milk for breakfast.
So I poured myself a cup of milk, took a sip and found it not as cold as it usually was.
So I asked my aunt if she left the milk out, and she said no I shrugged it off and continued drinking.
However, when I was almost done my cup of milk, I looked at the bottom and found this NASTY black BUG!!!
Ever since, I only drink clear liquids and I don't plan on drinking milk anytime soon.

I had to eat ramen for 4~5 days a week back then when I was peniless. Oh god, thinking about it still makes me barf. Now, I barely go close to ramen, only eat them occasionly, about once a month?
Another story, it was years ago from what I remember. My dad (or uncle?) went to a store nearby and bought these raisin bread with cream icing on the top. I was so hungry that I found myself finishing the half of the cake-size bread. After that, I felt extremely sickly and couldn't face foods for a while.

pudding i used to eat with congee. ever since i found out what it was, i practically throw up in my mouth at the very
sight of them .

peaches.

it's so sad because i still love the flavor of peach but i really can't eat them anymore. i start gagging because when i was kid, a LONG, white worm with a red tip crawled out of a piece of peach i was just about to stick my fork into. i remember screaming my head off cause i'm deathly afraid of worms of any type.

God. Nachos. Idk why, but the smell is
horrifying. And the thought of all that
cheese sickens me. My dad bought a
whole tin can of it from one of those whole
sale food stores and thought it would be a
fun family experience to eat all that cheese.
I watched all five of my family members
gorge that cheese in almost everything. It
was just gross. Kimchi as a whole doesn't
go well with me either. I can eat kimchi when
mixed with something else like kimchi pancakes.
By itself, I can't stand. Bananas as well. I'm a
very picky eater. I don't eat processed meat,
red fruit, sour fruit, or spicy things unless curry.
Yes, very picky.

i always tend to never eat again or not for a long time anything i've eaten recently before getting sick.
so there were this korean chips i was in loooooove with and i ate them all the time. well, i got a fever, and then i couldn't eat it again. it kind of gives me a headache thinking about eating it.
also, i got a stomach flu and threw up after eating a ton of these frito barbecue twist chips. it's been a year or two since i've touched those.
i think the reason i have this hate for sherbert ice cream must be because i got a headache when i was eating it when i was little. i've always told people that sherbert ice cream gives me a headache but i'm sure that's not the actual case, haha.
i don't know if this goes here too but this reminds me of how i hate looking at a certain restaurant. when i was little, this new cafe opened up and my family went there to eat. i only remember that my mom kept getting mad at me for a lot of stuff that day when we were there. now, whenever we pass by it in the car, i always feel mad or sad. it gives me bad memories, hahaha. XD and i had to eat there only one time since after that happened. but i felt uncomfortable in there and was cautious of what i did because i didn't want people getting mad at me. ._.

Not myself, but my brother ate a lot of peanut brittle one time and got really sick overnight (although we're still debating if it was the brittle or the undercooked shrimp

Chili Peppers:
When I was little, my mom was using the food processor to ground up chili powder. I looked into the tube as it was grinding and one chili pepper shot up into my eye. That stopped me from eating spicy things for many, many, many years.
Raisins:
When I was around the same age as the story above, I ate boxes of raisins without chewing them. Basically, I swallowed them whole. Well, during the middle of the night, I woke up with a nauseous feeling. I tried to get to the bathroom. But in the end I threw up all my raisins (most still whole), on the floor near the toilet. I still don't like raisins to this day.

Tenderloin:
In elementary school, I wanted to know what it was so I looked it up in the dictionary and read that it was the tenderest part of a lion. I didn't realize that that was the definition of tenderlion, so I honestly thought I had been eating lions lol. Even though I know it's not a lion, I still can't bring myself to eat it lol.

Back when our family was really poor, there was a huge sale on apples (i'm guessing) and my mother decided to cut them up and boil them into a sort of apple sauce. AFter every meal we were required to eat a bowl of this stuff for a good week (and a half?). By day 4 I was sitting at the table refusing to eat any of it and I had to sit there for 3 hours cuz I didn't eat it xD.
Now I don't eat anything that tastes like apples except the actual apple =)

Fish (bones).
When I was a kid, I ate fish and by accident a bone was kind of blocked in my throat. >.<
From then, I hate fish with lots of bones, so I always check first if there's any bones, otherwise I just don't eat.
That's why I LOVE sashimi!!

When I was about seven I was eating dinner at a banquet in a fancy hotel. I had a velvet dress on that I loved and I sat pretty far into the banquet hall.
I got some green beans on my plate from the serving dish, but it was touching ( yes, haha, just TOUCHING ) a piece of cauliflower and I tasted it. I quickly ran for the bathroom but I threw up before I got out of the hall. It was embarrassing and I ruined my beloved dress. D : and I still can't stand cauliflower. It makes my stomach churn.

For me, it's balut eggs.
I used to like them...
Until my cousin and I (when we were foolish young kids),
decided to take care of one, hoping it would hatch into a cute duckling.
After about a week, we became disappointed that no little duck came out,
so we decided to crack it open to see what's inside.
We saw a very disgusting sight. I don't even wanna describe it xD.

Haha no need to worry because it is normal.
It's called a taste aversion in psych terms.
It is a result of one trial learning where you've eaten something that resulted in you feeling nauseous/ill and afterwards you'll tend to avoid the food as your past experience was so powerful.
I think i tend to avoid orange juice ... but i mean it's not as bad but yeah i just don't drink it like i would back then. i sorta hesitate haha. xP
