So, the music industry is pretty much flooded by a bunch of artists, many of whom are definitely great singers. However, I think I only know a few who are TRULY talented on all spectrums of the song-making process (writing lyrics, composing, singing... the list goes on and on).
From my foraying back and forth within the realms of the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean music - I think I can pick out three artists/bands who are actually great in every aspect of making music. Of course, they all have their companies to back them up. But for these people, their success is definitely not a stroke of luck. Their raw talent in music-making truly makes them great artists.
And... drumroll... I would pick these people:
- China: Jay Chou
- Korea: Epik High
- Japan: Utada Hikaru
Who would you pick as the most TALENTED musicians from these three countries?

And of course... feel free to recommend any artists that are non-Asian too.

A bump for this thread? Not sure if this is allowed.

But on a more on-topic note, Goo Hye Sun is a REALLY talented composer.

I'm not that familiar with Chinese music.yeah i know I should try to find out more about it.
American:Lil Wayne, that's right a hip hop artist. i just feel he is reminding me of BIG and 2pac been a while sense anyone could dominate the mic and keep it real.he is also bringing diversity back into hip hop.there is nothing wrong with mixing different genres with hip hop. That is making music in my mind.should never box yourself into one sound.
Japanese:Miyavi, I don't know why but his whole sound can have this unique and original feel to it. He blends jazz, blues, rock and hip hop together and really has no fear.
Korean:That is so hard to pick just one but few that gets me ears pop up.MC Sniper,Drunken Tiger,T(tasha),Dynamic Duo,Outsider,Skull of Stony Skunk.Yeah, without them Korean hip hop in my mind would be boring and suck bad. I like YG artist like 1tym,Big Bang,Masta Wu, etc...BUT what they make is very commercial. There is more to hip hop then just an image and record to sell there has to be some substance underneath.
