Hey everyone :] I am required to present a speech tomorrow in my speech class on one thing i am passionate about, and one pet peeve. for what i am passionate about, i have decided to talk about korean underground hip hop/rap. i remember falling in love with double k's voice in lee hyori's song toc toc toc, and after looking him up online, it was all uphill from there. though i am still always on the search for new songs, new people, i have for about two years now been an ever supportive listener of many mc's and rappers. on that note, my pet peeve will be on what korean mainstream music industry is becoming, no thanks to all the crazy fans, netizens, and antis.

i feel like i have sufficient information on the current underground scene. but i just wanted to get some more feedback that anyone may have on the general, or specific, history/background of korean underground hip hop/rap. and just some opinions on why you prefer underground to mainstream. if you also can think of any songs off the bat that have particularly strong messages about society or government i'd love to look it up and let the class listen to it with translated lyrics. i have a few in mind but the more the better. thank you so much! & i will most certainly not forget to attribute credit for the help to all you wonderful soompi users :]
