Sorry if this was already posted; I just found this really interesting and wondered if I was alone in these kind of situations. D:

It's happened to me so many times, and I can't take it anymore.
I've been stuck on homework for the past hour, reading the book (which is no help), and people just won't help me.
I know they're smarter than that and I'm just fed up right now.
(I'm done with my rant. :x)

So, has there ever been a time where you ask a friend for help (on homework, etc.) and they just refuse to help you?

Yeah i hate it when i ask for homework and they get all scared and say like, "Oh the teacher might catch you because the answers are so similar, etc, etc"

I mean come on, obviosuly i'm going to change some answers around to make it look not too obvious.
And then there's those ppl that just won;t help me because they don't want to...

I don't do it because once I help one person, EVERYONE asks me... I don't have time for that.

Maybe I'm just a mean person though, hahaha.

lol well some people are busy. i will usually try to help when someone calls, but there are some times when i just have too much to do.

it's even more annoying when you're trying to study for a test and you ask them for help but they go: oh, idk. i don't understand it either. then they take the test and get 100% while youre stuck looking at your yucky grade. :/

That's not helping, that's cheating.
They are under NO OBLIGATION to GIVE answers.

I'm perfectly willing to help people, but I don't like to give out answers, especially to people who I'm not close with and just come up to me to copy answers.

i get really annoyed when people ask to copy my hw.
i think "wtf, why doesn't this person ever do his/her effin work."
if they dont want you to copy, then do your own work -_____-" the ones that say they're scared etc are the ones that are really annoyed but dont want to be straight foward & say DO YOUR OWN EFFIN WORK or STOP ASKING.

i hate cheaters -_______- half of my calculus class cheats & copies off hw EVERYDAY. pffff i wanna kick them in the %dajkfhjkdy#%^%^$&#^%#

When the real exam comes, they won't be able to cheat and receive the grade they deserve. In my AP Calculus class, my friends and the people that sit around us - we help each other out. We don't copy down one another's answers, but if we need help with something and time allows, we're willing to explain the problem step-by-step to get the solution. I can already see my future study group when the AP exam comes up!

You're implying that people are obligated to help you when you ask for it, which is naive and childish. In high school, its a survival of the fittest. The smart will go to their first choice colleges, and the not-so-smart unfortunately won't. In a competitive atmosphere like that, OF COURSE people won't help you. Rank and grades are so important. Think about it... having the only A in a class sounds so much better than having an A in a class where everyone has an A.

Oh god YES! It's absolutely annoying. I wish someone would just be so kind enough as to help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not asking for all the answers in the world, you know. I just sometimes get confused and I'd like to actually understand what I'm learning but people just don't want to do anything about it, sighhhhh.... It really is annoying.

I only help if its beneficial ie: they can help me, or I like that person. Lol. My teacher used to beg me to help.

When people usually copy my hw (usually bio) I give it if they're friends and I don't really care since they're the one's that aren't going to be so familiar with it come exam time.
As for actually helping with work and stuff, I try to help, only if they're not rude.
I've never really encountered someone who hasn't 'helped' if a classmate's asked for help. But then again, majority of the people in my classes aren't bad people, well, at least that's what I think.

It's so annoying when people ask you for help, and then they just copy your homework. It happened to me yesterday. I got so mad.. And then she wanted to ask for my number at the end of class, so I ran out of there. Ugh.

It's also annoying when you're doing homework and then someone calls you up asking for help.. I'm sorry, but I don't have time to help you when I barely understand the homework myself D:

This. Besides asking those around you, you can always go to yahoo answers or answers.com or something like that. Or google.

No one is obliged to help you with anything. If you don't understand how to do your homework or classwork, you ask the teacher. That's what they're there for.
