Haruma Miura stars in "Samurai Seventeen" drama

Popular young actor Haruma Miura (19) is set to star in an NTV drama series, tentatively titled "Samurai Seventeen." The show is based on an original script by writer Yumiko Inoue.

Miura plays Kotaro Mochizuki, a private high school student who is normally a mild-mannered, unmasculine guy. But after coming across a mysterious ancient document, he finds that whenever he gets into a difficult situation, he becomes imbued with the heroic samurai spirit of his ancestors.

The character of Kotaro will normally be seen in his school uniform, but for his first transformation, Miura will reportedly have a scene wearing a samurai outfit and engaging in a sword fight.

"Samurai Seventeen" will air on Saturdays at 9:00pm, beginning in October.

A new drama series titled ‘サムライ・ハイスクール / Samurai High School’ will start in October, with Miura Haruma playing the lead character! Actor Shirota Yu will also appear!

In the popular drama ‘ROOKIES’ Shirota played the role of an edgy high school student. But this time he will become a ‘hetare’ high school student!! [‘Hetare; ヘタレ’ is a derogative way to call people who are timid, cowardly.]

It is Shirota’s first time to play the role of someone being bullied. But he seems to be looking forward to the drama. “My character is the direct opposite of what people would think of the actor ‘Shirota Yu.’ I’m happy to be given such a role!”
In the first episode there will be a ‘mind-boggling’ scene where the 188cm tall Shirota is carried on the shoulders of 178 cm tall Miura!

The comedy drama takes place in a high school, and is about an utterly nondescript student (Miura) who in times of crisis changes into a samurai and fights the evils of this world. Actor Kimini cooperani Goro will also appear, along with the drama’s heroine played by model/actress Anne, and many others! This drama is bound to attract lots of attention.

I really like Miura Haruma and I heard that there'll be a new drama with him this fall but WOW this is just better than I expected!!! High school drama with samurais?! Sounds so awesome and hot guys in samurai outfits is just what I need to see Especially if it is Mura Haruma who wears such an outfit!
Can't wait to see it and I only hope there woun't be any cheesy transformation sequences (please on!). Anything else goes!

I don't really like Haru's hair (as a school boy), but it makes sense for his Samurai character. It looks hot in that picture. Will definitely see this drama. Can't wait for it to come out ASAP

LOL The drama looks funny

can't say that the story line is all that appealing but if Miura's in it ... I don't even care, hahaha. Buzzer Beat initially wasn't that appealing to me even though I love basketball, but I watched it for Yamapi and it ended up such a great drama...so for the people who judge dramas from the get go...DON'T! sometimes you'll end up missing out on some really great dramas!

Is it me or does Shirota's promo picture look well...not like him?

But yeah ... Miura's gonna be the reason I'm watching this!

just saw the first episode, & wow this drama is kindoff nuts,
in good way, especially the dad, what an airhead lmao
the first epi was okay. but the ratings went down already... not sure what to expect

miura is bloody fine ofcourse as samurai
and i love Yanagis hita Tomo, but he prob only makes cameos

Just finished episode 1. It's quite.. interesting. The only thing that bugs me is Yuu acting like a sissy. He's like a girl.

I thought Kotaro was going to transform every episode whenever he's in trouble or smth, but now he's stuck at way? I guess I have to watch the raws. I didn't want to continue until I saw the preview.

I watched the first episode. It's pretty ridiculous lol, but it's enjoyable. I am quite impressed with Miura's acting. It's amazing how he can isolate the two Kotaros' personalities so well. I had a Inuyasha flashback when Samurai Kotaro asked Nagasawa a certain question. I lol'd so much. xD

Oh, Shirota Yuu, you are such a pansy in this drama. It makes me sad and laugh uncontrollably at the same time.

I laughed so much in the first episode, it's pretty funny. I'm not used to Shirota Yuu acting shy. In all the dramas i've seen him in, he was so...manly haha xD However, I really do like miura's acting. He's great as a 'weak' student and as a samurai

i like episode 02 better because Kotaro was way funny whenever he transforms into the samurai, it totally cracked me up when he started talking and walking like his ancestor and shirota yu.. a totally different role for him.

Pinklett: yeah I love tomo too, but I think he only makes cameos.. oh well least he's there, hope we get to see him act.

Woah...talk about eye candy to the max! Haruma and Shirota Yuu for me to gaze at lol. Definitely going to look out for this then hehehe
