SUMMARY:Three Rivers is a medical drama that goes inside the emotionally complex lives of organ donors, the recipients and the surgeons at the preeminent transplant hospital in the country where every moment counts. However, dealing with donor families in their darkest hour and managing the fears and concerns of apprehensive recipients takes much more than just a sharp scalpel. Leading the elite team is Dr. Andy Yablonski (Alex O'Loughlin), the highly-skilled workaholic lead organ transplant surgeon, whose good-natured personality and sarcastic wit makes him popular with his patients and colleagues. His colleagues include Dr. Miranda Foster (Katherine Moennig), a surgical fellow with a rebellious streak and fiery temper who strives to live up to her deceased father's excellent surgical reputation; Dr. David Lee (Daniel Henney), a womanizing surgical resident who's broken as many hearts as he's replaced; Ryan Abbott (Christopher J. Hanke), the inexperienced new transplant coordinator who arranges the intricately choreographed process of quickly and carefully transporting organs from donor to patient; Dr. Sophia Jordan (Julia Ormond, unaired pilot), the head of surgery and a dedicated medical professional; and Pam Acosta (Justina Machado), Andy's no-nonsense operating assistant and best friend. In this high stakes arena, in which every case is a race against the clock, these tenacious surgeons and medical professionals are the last hope for their patients.

Kate looks so feminine, Justina looks so much like eva longoria, and alex and daniel looks hot.
I hope this is good. I'm not really into medical shows, I even got sick of House and Scrubs after a while. I do hate it when actors I love become attached to uninteresting projects.

I'm interested in seeing how this plays out.
Hopefully it won't turn into another Grey's Anatomy(which I DESPISE).
And I'm also hoping that the show seems realistic as well like ER and House.

I will be watching the premiere. Besides having Alex there is Daniel! Double score! I'm curious to see how Daniel's acting will be like. His role in Wolverine was a bit stiff, so hopefully he's got more advice to improve his acting. I'm extremely excited, hopefully it's good like the promo!

I agree totally. It is a decent medical drama and I will need a little time to get invested in the characters. I hope this will be a great start for Daniel Henney on American tv and movies. I really want to see more of him!!!!

I finished watching the show and likewise to what other have said you need to invest in this show.
other thoughts...
-WOW I never saw a technologically advanced hospital like that! Producers must have spent a lot of money on this!
-Daniel Henney really grew. His acting wasn't as stiff as Wolverine and Sam Soon. Love that he is the comical doctor in this.
-Alex and Daniel are really good eye candy... like... REALLY GOOD... ;]
I'll give this show another shot.

i think i expected too much from the previews...cuz i didn't find the 1st ep. extremely good...compared to grey's and house.
but it's only the 1st episode. so i'll keep watching to see how the show goes.

I visited my daily downloaded series forum, n i saw this new series. And then i clicked, and i was so surprised what i saw. Is that really Daniel Henney? and then i checked in wikipedia and Daniel's thread, and damn, i was right. haha...
I'm downloading it (since i'm not in USA i cant watch it on TV). I hope it's good. The medical series that i like the most just Private Practice (i dont into Grey's) coz I like all of the casts. I hope this will be my new fav medical drama.
n e way, this series is competing with Desperate Housewives in time slot right?
I hope it wont affect DH's rating. hehe.. coz DH's rating already down on its premiere. I dont want ABC axe DH soon. i still love my girls in DH. hehe...

I watched it last night. Yes, one of the reason was because of Daniel, BUT... also because organ donating i think is very... interesting. My dad is on the waiting list for a liver donor, so when i heard about it, it caught my eye. I can't wait to see more.

Rating for this series released already.
And yeah, it's bad for the premiere. It will be axed after 13 episodes if the rating keeps low like that.
here:
Tvbythenumbers Time Net Show 18-49 Rating 18-49 Share Viewers Live+SD (million)
9:00 NBC Sunday Night Football: Chargers v. Steelers 6.5 15 16.375
ABC Desperate Housewives 4.9 12 14.267
FOX Family Guy 4.9 11 9.668
CBS Three Rivers (series premiere) 2.0 5 9.171
Note: The important to keep the show is not the total viewers. But the Demo. Usually, if the demo below 2.5, the show wont be last. It'll be axed after the 1st season.
NBC’s Sunday Night Football delivered the ratings win to NBC, but showing surprising strength, Fox’s animation lineup was close behind. CBS’ Three Rivers debuted with a DOA 2.0 adults 18-49 rating.
ABC, NBC and Fox were all up vs. last Sunday night, only CBS, without a football overrun and saddled by the Three Rivers premiere was down. Sunday has turned out to be CBS’ biggest problem this fall by a longshot.
CBS’ Three Rivers premiere limped in with a “cancel me now” 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. It’s a goner. Let the fan lamentations begin!
The season premiere of America’s Funniest Home Videos could manage only 0.1 adults 18-49 ratings points more than a repeat of Extreme Makeover’s repeat last Sunday at 7pm. And while the TV media loves to tout 60 Minutes staying power/strength, without a football overrun it sank to a very mortal 2.3 rating.
Even though it was a blow-out, the Sunday Night Football game was up in the 18-49 in every half hour vs. last Sunday. Scheduling the Super Bowl champions = ratings bonus.
Fox’s animation line up did quite well, challenging NBC for the 18-49 demo and winning the 18-34 demo outright. The Simpsons was up a tenth of a ratings point vs. its premiere last week, and the rest of the animation line up settled down a few tenths from their premieres.
The epitaph for Desperate Housewives may have been a bit premature, it tallied a 4.9 18-49 demo rating up 0.3 ratings points in the 18-49 demo from last week, and Brothers & Sisters was up 0.2 points.
CBS has conveniently loaded up its biggest losers on Sunday night, although Cold Case fell a tenth of a ratings point down to just (my bad, I looked at the timeslot which had some Amazing Race time in it) from last Sunday was up from its rating last week to a 2.2 18-49 demo rating. As far as I know it aired at its regular timeslot everywhere, what will its fans blame this week? (Ah, of course, the Three Rivers lead in!)
No football overrun seems to have hurt The Amazing Race as well as it fell 0.6 ratings points from last week to a 2.8 adults 18-49 demo rating.

I just saw the first episode and I have to say it's kind of disappointing. It's very focused on the medicine part. Unfortunely, that does not make a very thrilling story. I suppose you could say it's also kind of interesting, but ... yeah.. kinda boring to me. The drama was kept very short (wrapped up really fast) and sometimes a bit cliche, there was no romance and it was not funny. There were a few jokes, but not something I would laugh at. I find the characters a bit bland. And then there is the weird camerawork which keeps moving as in trying to make the scenes more dramatic, but just made me more annoyed. Okay, I sound quite pessimistic, but I suppose I had high hopes.
I did like the futuristic screens (like Bones) and there were a few nice scenes, but on the whole it was kinda blah.
I will still watch the next few episodes just for Daniel Henney, but if it does not improve, I will drop this.
HearMeGoRAWR
Oct 6 2009, 02:29 PM
^ I agree. The episode was very bland, it just focused on the patients which was boring.
Hopefully they can balance out the doctors personal lives and the patients out a bit like they did in ER and such within the next few episodes.
And my mom was complaining about the medical scenes being unrealistic, like shocking people with their clothes on and when they did the c-section, you could tell the baby had a diaper on coming out of the womb.

But I am watching "Ryan's first day", and I think it's pretty good. Daniel & Alex are HOT as ever! And man, I love Katherine since Young Americans....and I really like her feminine look.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Katherine and Kristen Stewart look so much alike?!

how's the rating for this show?

Its not technically called episode two because last week episode was suppose to be episode two but CBS decided to aired that episode because in the first episode (pilot) they replace Julia Ormand with another actress and then they filmed that episode all over again, it was not edit in time to be aired so they decided to put "Place of Life" in episode 1 and today episode called "Ryan's First Day" so the first two episodes got swap with each other. When I watched it I was like o.O... didn't Ryan got introduce already? but I read that they swap the episode so probably the viewers are a bit confused =.= as for the rating it has not been released yet. we have to wait till tomorrow to find out

Like many others, I only watched this for Daniel Henney. The show isn't particularly exciting. It's heavily focused on the medical side, which is a good thing, but I would like to know more about the doctors. I'll continue to watch it only because of Daniel. I think if the show was on a different night, the ratings would be higher. It's competing against two powerhouses in its timeslot, Desperate Housewives and football. Obviously the key demos would be lower because Desperate Housewives is stealing away the 18-49 women and football in the men.

I'm watching "Ryan's First Day" right now, pretty interesting. I like the concept of transplant specific...also I love how medical the show is.

Makes it somewhat more realistic. Also I like being able to think more about it...good for health field students. Probably not good for a general tv show though...haha

Just watched the "Alone Together" episode. This show is definitely growing on me. I love the introduction of Rena and a little more insight into the character's back stories. It's dramatic, but not as crazy coincidence/dramatic like Greys. And the stuff they deal with is definitely true in terms of the medical field - time, learning to love patients, etc.
LOVE IT!!!!
