Mr. Chan
I'm currently 21, and will be 22 next month. The thought of me becoming a year older has sadden me. Has anyone ever felt this way or is it just me?
kennesu
quarter-life crisis here. i'm turning 24 next week and it seems like my time after graduating college has zipped by. it just helps me realize how much freedom you really get while in college.

sad.gif
yeah
I only felt like that when I was in college, with no direction, and no real plans after graduation.
IwishIwasKOREAN
People say, if you complain about feeling too old...perhaps you haven't done much in your life. That's what people say though, who knows.

I agree with that. Maybe my perspective might change after I finish college.

Quarter life crisis, go out there watch 80s cartoons and play super nintendo.

Recommend me a good 80's cartoon.

Age is just a number. What matters is how you feel on the inside.
How you interact with others, the people who surround you, the activities or sports you take part in.
All play a role in influencing the way you think -
the feeling of getting the most out of life and still feeling youthful.

who isn't getting older?

It's normal .... and eventually who cares, right?

an almost 32 guy tongue.gif

ha! I'm 30 but I'm still enjoying myself like i'm still 23-25. I've done uni twice, travelled a bit, moved countries, nearly killed myself a couple of times and I still find that I haven't seen or done enough. My advice is, do things while your young... while you still can.
sp4078
Yeah, a lot of times. Turning 21 in a month here. I keep seeing younger people around, makes me feel so old. But good side is that ... I make decision to do whatever I want to do when I'm still young. No more "buts" or "wait until", "later on".

Maybe things will change.
Irysinon
I'm 26 and I feel old. The reason for me feeling old is that I did a lot of things too quickly. My dad used to always tell me that I should do whatever I wanted while I had time, so I did. Now I feel like one of those old gramps sitting on front porches playing chess and talking about the good old days. Things just seem so boring now. It's stuff that's been done before. If only I had good eyesight, I'd probably take a run at pro wrestling 'cause man I've loved it since I was a kid.
Tuffcore
For men, 30 is a great age. Because for some reason, women think boys magically turn into men at 30 although that cannot be farther from the truth. Not that i'm complaining lol.

30 kind of sucks for women though... obviously.

Transformers, GI Joe, TMNT, Teknoman smile.gif

I wanna go back in time to when I'm 16 too laugh.gif
Unfortunately, that's not possible. At least not yet, anyway! tongue.gif

So just cheer up and try to look at the glass half-full instead of half-empty. Instead of thinking that you've lived 20-something years, see it as having 40, 50 or 60 more years to live your life to the fullest.

That's how I comfort myself, anyway tongue.gif laugh.gif
mo.NeMo81
Sometimes I feel sad when I think that I'm getting *older* but then to be optimistic I think *older--> wiser*, and remember all the stupid stuffs I did back then lol.

Right now, I just do all the stuff I want to do while I can so I would be satisfied in later life. NO "WHAT IFs.." biggrin.gif.

cartoon rec: voltron! laugh.gif

I am also on the same boat. Twenty-one this month, twenty-two the next. But then again, I lived in a household with two people who are in their 80s...honestly, even if you are feeling old - just one look at them and that thought will immediately vanish. sleep.gif

By the way, how come nobody mentioned "He-Man"?

I'm more of a 90s cartoon watcher, so I would recommend Captain Planet, Darkwing Duck, and Batman: The Animated Series.

Those were them days. Were any of you ever into power rangers when it first came out? I think I was in 1st grade around that time.

Seriously? I'm 24, if you're old then I must be ancient!

You're just "old" compared to a lot of people who post here but in the real world, you're still quite young. And anyway, you're only as old as you feel wink.gif I do sometimes long for the days when I was younger & more carefree but that's a toxic way of looking at things. Everyone's going to age at some point. It's inevitable.

I do agree that you're only as old as you feel. I'm also 24 and used to be gerontophobic. In fact, I almost had an anxiety attack when I turned 20. I think sometime last year I realized it was a waste of time to worry about age. Time will pass me by no matter what, so I do my best to try to enjoy it.

lol TMNT was probably my favorite. Then Ghostbusters.
I liked the Transformer toys more than the actual cartoon itself though.

Oh yea, there was also Dragonball.

If you want old cartoons, go back to the original Looney Tunes ones. Bugs bunny and all them. Then there's silver hwaks, thundercats, defenders of the earth, MASK, Xmen, ... now THOSE are old. lol some of you guys and girls weren't even born then XD

The one I watched was in the early 90's.

Yeah, getting older sucks.

No more innocent, wide eyed fun.

But there's classy or decadent fun now, I guess.

I LOVED Sailor Moon. Had the biggest, biggest crush on Tuxedo Mask! He was probably my first TV crush tongue.gif
First saw it when I was in what 6th or 7th grade? Then later on, they started airing it on USA network and I'd watch it every morning before going to school. Wow! Feels like a lifetime ago laugh.gif

I also watched the old X-Men, Captain Planet (tottally adored it since I thought the "wind power" and "earth power" stuff was cool and the "saving the planet" message totally went over my head), Power Rangers when it first started (still remember the episode when Tommy-what's-his-name finding out he's the white ranger). Didn't notice it then but now that I think about it, they had a black guy playing a black ranger, an Asian girl playing the yellow ranger, a white girl playing a pink ranger wacko.gif laugh.gif

Non-cartoon shows I always, always watched after school were Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, Full House....

Can't believe I'm saying this but I miss the 90's! laugh.gif
God, hate going everywhere and people addressing me as ma'am now! How dare they! mad.gif laugh.gif

Compared to most of the soompi members, you may be "old," because the majority are teenagers, but in the real world, you're still young. I'll be 29 in February. I'm dreading it because it'll be my final year as a twentysomething, which is why I'm going to go all out during that month, haha.

I stopped thinking I was turning old after 20. I only think age is a number now. When I'm 60, I'll still be looking 20ish and feeling 40. Oh yea!!!! I have a kid's face so I can pull it off, lol.

i just reached 21 not too long ago>> actually 2 days ago

n i felt so sad n desperate, i was thinking "deeply" abt stuff like how i havent done much with my life n how i have wasted a lot of time just doing nothing, but after awhile i felt my old self again and talked myself into all of that talk abt how youth is not an age matter but its actually all abt ur heart and beliefs...i think it works when think this way!

Sometimes I feel old too....especially since I entered school late since I was born in decemeber so I'm usually older than everyone else in my grade. Also because sometimes I forget my real age and think that I'm a year older than I really am (happened twice and I was so embarrassed and shocked when I realized! laugh.gif)

But I think I feel old because I haven't accomplished much in life and wish for a more fulfilling life....Now I'm like eh....

Oh yes, Thundercats and MASK but does anyone remember Visionaries? Just turned 25 and still get asked for ID to enter a bar/club so they must think I'm 17 LOL. I don't think it will hit me until I reach 30.

Sometimes I feel old...especially when I look back at my 25 years of life and feel that I have accomplished nothing. Just sitting in an office everyday pushing paper. The feeling really come and goes...
Rikku22
I'm 22 almost 23 and I feel old and unaccomplished most of my friends are graduating college and I'm still kinda figuring out what/where I wanna go. But I'm sorta growing up still even now I've given up my dreams so that I can actually get a job in. I've slowly stopped going to things that I loved going to. yup I feel older.
