So I've been deciding on my first car and I narrowed it down to 5 cars lolss

1. Subaru Outback 2.5i
2. Subaru Forester 2.5x Premium
3. Chevrolet Equinox
4. Kia Spectra5
5. Volkswagen Jetta

I'm not really focused on mpg and gas-wise
I just interested on if the car sucks and it's gonna break down and like performance wise i guess
Idk if that made sense but yeah
I can't choose on one car so I need to know pros and cons about some of the cars on the list haha

The Legacy is a reliable car, makes decent power for stop and go traffic. Only downside is that changing your spark plugs will be expensive. If you're going to do your own oil, it's the easiest oil change you'll ever do.

I'm with Mr. Chan, the Legacy is a very solid car.

It really depends on your price range and what you want the car for.

i think they always have, except the 2008/9 + dont quote me on that though brand new 2010 wrx starts at 25 if you dont mind used you can get a older one for alot cheaper.

the 06 for sure comes automatic

They all came in Auto.

I don't know much about the 08+ but in this article it states that they do come in automatic.

edit: oh you're right. WRX only comes in 5 speed manual now whereas the 2.5i or whatever comes in either stick or auto.

yeah, in the link I provided it stated that WRX only came in manual. Which is pretty stupid of them to do so. I personally think automatic WRX sold pretty well.

haha read my edit, i think 2010 = no more auto? idk why carmakers do that, when i was looking at g37s's the site says they come only in manual, but ive seen auto g37s's

Pre-08 WRX came in Auto. I think some 08 must've came in auto. But in the link I was reading, it stated that for 09, the WRX only came in manual.

Anyhow, I suggest:

Mazda RX-8 automatic
Mazda 3 Hatchback automatic
Mazda 3 Sedan automatic

Both are reliable, if you take good care of the RX-8 it can be an excellent car. That said, the RX-8 is a bit of a sporty car, although automatic shafts the top speed of it quite a bit. The 3's are an excellent choice, a little girly with their "I'M SO DAMN HAPPY" faces but still sporty in handling.

i'd go for a mazda3 hatch
the legacy is nice too

the spectra is going to be phased out..i wonder if there is going to be a forte hatch variant

if you like small suv's the new kia sorento is going to be out soon, it's pretty mean looking priced around 21k
hyundai's tucson will be out with a new design as well, which is kind of like a cross between the the CRV and those infiniti crossovers

idk where OP lives but if you live in a cold place, id advise against the rx-8.

Anyhow, I don't see why you don't want a Mazda? They're Japanese-made, highly reliable, and they look quite sporty. Plus, they're actually sporty.

But you could go for Japan's other "sport" car company, Nissan. In which I would suggest a new Sentra, slightly used Altima, or 350z... if the Z falls in your price range.

And don't worry Jake, Fullerton is far from cold. Haha.

If you really like crossover-SUVs, then get a Toyota Rav-4 AWD.

as far as wrx/sti goes they are rally cars, which means they are gonna get abused. This means subie has to make the car able to handle it.

Subaru transmission are horrible. Since the ver.1 STi all the way to the ver.6, their transmission has been glass-like. However, when the 6 speed came out, that was when the engineers did the work of God, and designed a very stout transmission which can handle the abuse. I remember reading somewhere that it wasn't even Subaru that designed the 6 speed. But yeah, all Subaru transmission besides the 6 speed STi are garbage when it comes to driving aggressively.



Normally when people say "bullet proof", it means it's very strong and won't break easily.

They're both nice cars, depending on what you wanna use them for. If you're really into the WRX, you should check out the 04-05 models along with the 06-07 models.

Ok, on a more serious note, get the Forester, stand out a little bit. Every boy and their male cousin has a wrx (although I want one for the huey chopper exhaust sound).

If you're going to consider the WRX, I suggest looking into the Saab 9-2x as well. It's the same car as the WRX, but I personally like how it looks much better, as well as some of the color schemes are beastly on it. However, it's also a rarer car and harder to find. On the bright side, it's a bit cheaper than the WRX since it was branded with Saab.
