I've been looking over the verizon wireless site and that thing is just plain difficult to understand.

I'm with verizon wireless and have unlimited text messaging. Will i get charged for receiving and texting someone in canada?

thanks.

I don't think so. My friend's ex lives in Canada and she'd text me sometimes.

I believe they charge you for international rates but I'm not sure, they will say it on the text messaging page at Verizon.com. Not sure then call customer service. thats what they are there for.

No you won't not from my experience.
My friend went to Canada and we kept texting each other back and forth. She got charged a heck of a lot, my bill didn't change at all. So if you are texting from the U.S. to Canada you won't get charged.
But on the other hand, if you are texting from Canada to U.S. you will.

I text with a friend in the US who is using Verizon as well. Her plan has 250 SMS included but when she texts me, she gets charge 25cents per text (those are NOT included in her plan).

Then again, it might depend on what Canadian carrier you're with.... I'm Telus.

i text with a friend on a daily basis and he is in boston for school. i'm in toronto. it's $0.25 a text even though i have a texting plan. there are options where you can pay more to get unlimited international texting.

25-35 cents per txt msg canada to usa. Most companies give an add-on to pay 5-10$ more for unlimited.
