I'm not sure but are most car batteries 12V now?
I want to buy a trickle battery recharger for my car battery but it comes in both 12V and 6V and I'm not sure which to buy.
The battery I have is a Duralast and it's a 24F-DL.
Some other information is:
600 cold Cranking Amps
750 Cranking Amps
110 Reserve Capacity
It was bought no more than a year ago.

Actually, most cars should be using a 12V battery that has been standard for many MANY years now. 6V batteries are not found in modern cars.
Unless you are storing the car for long periods of time, you don't need a trickle charger. Then again, if you do short trips around the town and the battery doesn't charge fully, you should invest in a full blown battery charger.
Alternators are not designed to charge a battery from deep drains (lots of starts), and the alternator voltage regulator can fail due to this. Lots of short trips with all the accessories on tends to drain the battery faster than the altenator can top off the battery with power.
Because I do fall into this catagory (i've killed 4 batteries like this, and i've just killed the alternator), i'm investing in a full pledged charger for the car. I ordered a voltage regulator and will refurbish my alternator in the coming week. Glad I can do this work myself and save the $$$. I already coughed up money on a Optima Red Top.

im pretty sure you dont need one if you are gonna be driving it on the weekends only. Is it a old car? also even if its a weekend car, starting the car and driving it around the block for 5-10 minutes once a week is more than enough to keep the battery going.
but im pretty sure it is a 12v

it's a 1990 z32
i haven't driven it in a few months, so it definitely needs a recharge.
since i don't need to drive it, i don't really need a powerful battery charger, which won't fall in my budget.
actually how much did you spend on your charger?
i plan to get a 40 dollar trickle charger.

next time you store the car, just unplug the negative battery terminal.
when a car isn't in use, it goes into "standby" mode, so voltage is always present to the ECU, stereo and ignition. if the car is unused for long enough, the battery just drains.
so yeah, drive it for awhile and recharge the batt, then unplug the negative terminal (the black one) and call it a day.
i do this all the time at my shop whenever i dont drive the cars.
