Some teachers don't accept late work or incomplete work, so today I just decided to skip class. =_=

uhm. well. that was stupid.
if the assignment isn't done, tell the teacher why it wasn't done and ask if you can hand it in later that day. or if there's anything you can do to make it up.
i don't get why it's so hard for people to go to class or try and get through homework.
next time, if you think you're going to be late, email the teacher and tell them.
there's a lot of stuff that you can do,,,

Well if I don't get the assignment done then sometimes I do go to class. If the professor doesn't accepted late assignment then I'm skipping. haha

because they want the full credit?

most professors have strict no late work policy. and my other class takes a grade letter off everyday you turn it in late. you dont have to be sound so bitter.
i've missed class plenty of times either for sleep or unfinished work. sometimes that 40% of your grade research paper is just THAT important.

there's nothing bitter about it.
we just got into october, the year just started.
i've had plenty of strict professors, so, it's not like that's anything new. and i think that most schools have the same policy when it comes to late work.
if you think you're going to be late, you ask for an extension.
if something is difficult, you talk with the teacher or the GSI.
if you're paying $25,000 a year to a university, i don't get why you would even consider skipping.
and it doesn't even sound like the OP is skipping and doing the assignment.
heck, even if he didn't do the assignment, that doesn't prevent him from going to class.

Like skip so you don't even go to the class, or sacrifice a couple of classes before it so that you can make it to the class where the assignment is due (and the assignment is finished)?
If it's the latter, then yeah I have. But I mostly only do it when there's a exam so i don't go to the class before it so that I can study a little more.

just cause the year just started doesnt mean work is not piling up. some classes are just harder than others. schools dont have late work policy, its teacher's or TA's own policies. AGAIN, people want FULL CREDIT. asking for an extension still result in a lower grade. yes im paying that much, and i wish to get what i deserve and quite frankly i dont. a lot of teachers are HORRIBLE and some classes are not even taught by professors. so for me, the time wasted in those classes i can utilize it for something more important - like doing work for a more important class. of course as we get closer to graduation, all classes become equally important (the upper divs) so skipping them might not be a smart idea. but some professors post all the slides and notes online, some have podcasts, so that makes skipping one or few classes plausible. in a big university, lecture attendance DOES NOT MATTER. assignment grades are, however, crucial.

ahahhaa i did!! only if the class is worth skipping. ex: a lecture only class with boring teacher

I usually finish my work on time, even when it's at the last minute.
There are some classes with unnecessary attendance, like some professors will teach right out of the textbook, or depend on a slide show that can also be provided online. So there's times when i skip class, simply because I don't need to be there.

i do this. if i haven't finished my work and whatever it is that i did is conducive to the class, then i won't go. i feel like dead weight to my classmates, probably because i have a lot of classes that are dependant on discussion. i also skip a lot of class if it's taught out of the textbook and/or boring. my 8:30 journalism class is a nightmare. a bulk of the people in this class just like to hear themselves talk and their discussion offers me nothing. i haven't showed up in 4 weeks. i still have an A. sure, i am paying for my tuition, but if i'm not getting much out of the lecture, i could be getting more out of the extra sleep or time to study for other classes.

nevaaa evaaa evaa lol
i might come 15 mins late (rarely)
but i will never actually skip a lecture or a lab
its just too much material covered for me to skip class
and be expected to catch up with a full course load ...
although i am so very tempted to on days i've pulled all nighters
finishing assignments haha

Grades are what really matter, so looking at it from a grades standpoint, do whatever you need to maximize the amount of points. Going to class won't yield you points (depends). Some classes are so bad that it doesn't even make sense to go in that either: you learn better reading powerpoints or whatever on your own, or you end up more confused than just not going. So even though you may be paying to go to a university, you are in essence there to learn/pass/excel through any means possible, and get your degree(s). That does not mean you have to torture yourself going to class while not looking at the grades standpoint.

Well for me, I make sure there won't be a situation in which I'm going to have to miss class. Sure, I've pulled tons of all nighters and done lots of stuff last minute (by last minute I mean like an hour or two before class), but at the most, I was just 30 mins or so late for class. I've never fully missed a class due to unfinished work.
For my school (and I'm sure most colleges are like this) - you usually turn in your work in a discussion course. So worst case, I walk in the discussion late or what not and just turn my stuff in.

Haha, I don't skip classes to do unfinished homework, but my brother does all the time, xD.. I mainly skip my chemistry lecture just because it's boring to attend, he posts all his notes online, and even records his lectures >_> I understand the material because I got placed into a low-level chemistry by the placement exam because I haven't been exposed to chemistry for two years when I took the exam, lol.. but whatever

Lol, never.
I've never been in that situation because my time management skills are pretty darn good if I may say so myself. But, if I were in the situation and the assignment is major, then I would skip, but I would totally hate myself for skipping. That is, until I see my grade for the assignment. If it is good, I'll be happy, otherwise I'll hate myself even more... yeah. :\
I have a hard time missing a class. I just can't do it; the only time I missed class at all (throughout my entire academic career) was when I was seriously sick (like chicken pox contagious lol), attended aunt's wedding in Portugal and Senior Ditch Day. The only classes I skip are the discussions where my TAs are no help at all.

Just skip if you want to, get the notes you miss if needed.
I skip class all the time and I still end up with A's. The secret is get the notes and study your butt off and have study group lmaoo.

yes, i skip. it's inevitable you see.
some professors think the only subject you have is their subject.

they are the very demanding ones.
and most of them give really low marks.
so you're left with no choice but to put them and their subjects on top priority.

I don't know why some people are so focused on attendance when everything is based on the assignments and exams. I rarely have professors that care about attendance, except for math, English and critical thinking. Wow... 3 classes out of how many you take throughout college?
And to answer the OP's question, yes I have skipped classes to finish assignments for other classes. I would never skip the class I missed an assignment in.
For the people who are saying "stop procrastinating" or "you should have just done your work" you should realize that other people aren't like you. Some people have a lot of things going on, personal or family issues that came up, or a really hard time understanding certain subjects. A lot of professors are really demanding, and sure you've had a few, but maybe someone else's professor is even more demanding.
