I listen to: tohoshinki, tegomass, kat-tun, one ok rock, KELUN, YUI, UVERworld, Yuno Ito, Ayaka, Tenjo Chiki, Mika, JYONGRI and some others.
I was just listening to Exile yesterday and I really like them and this morning, I heard of a female group (I think they're new) called

Ayumi Hamasaki. I know a lot of people can't stand her voice, but she's the only "squeaky" voice I like. Although the stuff from her first album is incredibly ear-grating, I absolutely love the rest of her stuff.
I got into her work 5 years ago, and I'm still a fan.
Other artists I like are ayaka, Yuna Ito, Utada Hikaru, Hitomi Shimatani, Mika Nakashima, and Yumi Shizukusa. :] You may notice a lack of male artists... it's because I haven't found a male Japanese singer whose voice I like yet. =| EXILE was pretty good, but their music just wasn't my style. Then again, I haven't gotten around to listening to all of them yet.

love psychedelico and to a lesser extent mr children. their cheesy chord progressions are surprisingly catchy.
honourable mention to southern all stars and shizuka kudo. these 2 acts are what got me into jpop back in the late 80s.

TommyHeavenly (is that even pop? lol)
Depends on which of her alter egos you're talking about:
Tommy heavenly6 (punk/pop/rock)
Tommy february6 (pop/synthpop)
Or her band:
The Brilliant Green (pop/rock)
Adding to my above list, lately been addicted to this song of hers lately:
