Heyy!

I was wondering if there were any programs (free and not free) that can record whatever is happening on your screen, and maybe record sound, too? I remember my teacher had one of these programs... but I forgot to ask him and it's mock exam period, so... I can't really go to school right now.

I have a tablet and I thought it would be spiffy if I could use a program like this to make tutorials, like for drawing...

Couple of questions though...

1) If it records sound, does it record whatever it hears like from a microphone... or just whatever comes out of the program?

2) Can you suggest any programs that do this? I don't mind if it's free or not free. But what is, in your opinion, the 'best one'?

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to make a new topic for this. >__< Eee. *kinda nervous*

But yeehh. smile.gif

you can try fraps, but i don't think its free. there might be like a limit to how long you can record and there's like a watermark on the screen. not sure though but i know it's one of the most popular programs to record yourself playing games so i would assume they work well for recording desktop.

I don't know if the following apps are "the best", but they work well for me rolleyes.gif
So, I use Macvide Screen Cap (Mac OS) and Screen VidShot (Windows). I need both because I use Windows at work and Mac at home smile.gif

Jing: Free and records sounds via microphone. The only disadvantage is that the file is SWF I think. I haven't used it in a few years.
