Synopsis
Xue Hai was a certifiable dork when he first arrived in Shanghai. After his schoolmate Bao Zhu saved him from bullying, she became his first love. Then, a misunderstanding caused them to lose contact when she moved back to Taiwan. He thought she dumped him. So he transformed himself from a dork to a hunk in order to seek revenge.

Both Taiwanese artistes, Show Luo and Rainie Yang will act as onscreen lovers for their upcoming Taiwanese drama series, Shanghai Sweetheart. The pair shared a kiss for a scene in the show and immediately repelled against each other the moment the scene was done with an embarrassed Show exclaiming in protestation.

The duo knew each other since many years ago when Rainie was still dating Show's good pal, Ben. They shared a hostile friendship as Show was unhappy with Rainie's denials and adamant replies to reporters on her relationship with Ben.

Three years ago when both parties participated in a Las Vegas performance, Rainie took the opportunity to clarify her misunderstandings with Show. It was said that Rainie resolved her differences when she approached him and asked 'Are there any misunderstandings between the both of us?'

Due to his personal character, Show was particularly impressed with Rainie's straightforward mannerisms as she laughingly said, "When there were rumours about our enmity, there were also rumours about our relationship, it's funny, right?"

The amiable friendship between the pair was clearly shown when Show was questioned about Makiyo's (his ex-girlfriend) recent separation from her rich boyfriend, Milton. Rainie exclaimed in his defence, "By asking this, you guys won't be publishing my photos tomorrow, right?"

As good friends, the pair finds the idea of kissing each other in the show weird as Show shared, "After kissing, I will start cursing vulgarities in my heart."

"Out of the many male celebrities I have met, Show has the sturdiest back, when he drives, I don't get carsick and he is a person who can cry on demand," Rainie quipped.

This is gonna be funny. Hopefully Rainie won't be one of those annoying girl characters.

Are there any behind the scene images of a post-dork Xue Hai, if he looks anything like his "dork" with the mushroom hair and obnoxious looks I can't really see much happening between him and Bao Zhu without her wearing a pair of drunk goggles that make him look better to her than he appears.

Lee Wei is always taking roles of the supporting actor where he doesn't ends up with the leading lady at all. Always the one-sided love and ends up people pitying the supporting actor (him) instead.

I always watches Rainie's drama so I'm definitely watching this and besides I like seeing Show Luo as his dramas are always funny so I believe this should be something which I will go for it.

At the moment I only know of Kehai-fansub discussing the series, but unless you speak/understand French it won't be of much help. I checked TimeLeSubs, SUBlimes, DoReMii, and BillaSub and none of them seem interested in the series at the moment.

eh i dunno if i'm gonna watch or not... the behind the scenes was pretty funny tho' honestly i really hate lee wei's hair in this <.< i swear he has bad hair in almost all his dramas... long and sorta stringy looking X.x he's a nice looking guy but ick his hair, i'm beginning to think something is wrong with his stylist i think lol i only liked his hair in bull fighting XD

Currently filming an upcoming Taiwanese idol drama series, Shanghai Sweetheart, Rainie Yang and Show Luo are newfound buddies who no longer share an awkward friendship with each other.

At the preview of Shanghai Sweetheart, Rainie touched upon their previous misgivings with each other from a misunderstanding they once shared many years ago. Although she acknowledged of Show's acting capabilities, she felt that he was proud and not very good-looking back then.

After filming this series with him, she exclaimed that Show is a humble actor who is caring and very professional, "He may be a sissy at times but he is a true man inside who is not timid and not afraid of death."

Show chimed in response upon hearing Rainie label him a 'sissy', "I may be sissy at times but when the time calls for me to be man, I am really very man!"

While the duo was filming in Hangzhou, China, Rainie revealed that she was sleeping in an adjourning room from Show and was both shocked and surprised to see the latter wearing a pink Hello Kitty short-sleeved pyjamas and a pink butterfly headband in his hair.

30-year-old Show magnanimously admitted that it was his usual sleeping attire, and revealed that he will be willing to wear such an outfit for a girl he fancies.

For this drama series, the pair turned down the various performance opportunities in the US and two commercials, amounting up to a total of S$700,000 in losses. However, they unanimously agreed that it was all worthwhile as they have resolved their longtime differences through the help of this drama series.

I feel like there is so little combination in pairing with Taiwanese dramas. I feel like I keep seeing Rainie, over and over again. I am not a big fan of her, or her characters. But it seems this time, her character has more spunk or seems cooler/pinkberryier.

But the trailer didn't impress me, if Show looks hot after, I might just watch. lol

just finished watching this drama with eng sub.... rainie play a totally different role compared to previous dramas...luv her in this drama... just can't wait when show is going to a player...hehehe

Watched this yesterday; was quite okay... not enough Rainie yet. Hope that will change with later episodes.

But the encoding of this rmvb was really crap. Wonder why they don't manage better TV rips in Taiwan by now? All the taiwanese shows I watched so far had rather crappy encodes (except Devil Beside You which was a DVD rip).

Watched the first episode today! I was trying to hold in my laughter since my roommate was in the room hahas.

The first episode wasn't terrible per se but it wasn't that great either. I kept seeing "原來我不帥" being played out between Lin Da Lang and Mo Li it was a bit irritating. The overbearing sister/mother character was honestly too much. Dan Ling's flatmates were okay at times "cartoonish" at other times. Bao Zhu was a little confusing as well, I couldn't help but think she was playing hot and cold emotionally (and personality wise).

I like any drama if rainie yang is in it even if she's annoying at times.
Anyways, her character in this drama is just awesome totally cool.

..The first ep was not that great but it was so cute. But i cant wait for them to ge together and breakup so we can see more drama. Plus i can't wait to see being hot later on.

Is it me or his bowl hair cut looks like they recycle it from Rainie's other drama ToGetHer ahaha.

I like this show. It's cheesy but funny. I find it easy to follow by itself since it's quite simple. it does seem a bit over the top with the effects but oh well-it actually helps me understand with my limited chinese vocabulary.

I have just started watching it, but it looks fun. I really like Rainie Yang, and I hope that the guy will turn really hot

Was the third episode good? I watched it and it didn't seem like much happened (except for the ending). Can someone explain the hotel guy and/or how Bao Zhu got herself in that situation with him?

^^ I think you're talking about the guy that Bao zhu hugged right? That guy is played by Lei wei. He was in the "legend of speed", also with Rainie. He seem to aged alot since that series.

But in this series he's Bao zhu's senior. They knew each other in high school when they had Judo together. His character is rather small. They hardly elaborate on the facts of how they like each other or how he came to find her. From the preview it looks next episode he will be leaving when he sees Da lang kissing Bao zhu.

I'm getting annoy with the special effects. I hope they part in episode 5 so the drama can get more serious. It's so boring right now.

But i love the last scene where Da Lang said "How can "whatever" be such a thing?"..Lolz he's so innocent...

Yes. That's exactly who I'm talking about.

The special effects have always been annoying to me. I don't really understand the need for them unless they are trying to make light the lackluster story they're trying to tell. I can understand the use of some special effects whenever one of the characters zones out (dreams) but most of the time its just random stuff (clouds, dirt, Rainie's devil or what it is when she get mad). We're probably stuck with the special effects.

Do we know when Da Lang is supposed to have his transformation? His mushroom hair and fake glasses are really annoying.
