Full Version: Getting a new cell phone...where to start?

So, this is my first time really ever choosing my own cell phone.

I have a phone now, but it's this old (as in, 2003 old) phone that's starting to break down and I'd kind of like something a bit cuter than it. dry.gif

I figured this would be the most helpful place to ask

First of all, I don't use my phone for much. I call people maybe once a week and text a couple of times every day...not heavy on using it.
I'd love to get a phone that supports mp3 (though most now do, right?) and has a space for a mini/mircosd card. C: Also, if it has a camera that's pretty boss too.

What phone do you guys reccomend? I know everyone here says smartphone and stuff, but the thing is, my plan doesn't really support that stuff or whatever, so I don't think a smartphone would do me much good. dry.gif

I was considering an Icecream, but I've heard some really bad things about it...and now the lollipop is starting to be unlocked, but it doesn't have gsm which is a problem for somebody in the states.

Any suggestions on what phone to get? Nothing too pricey please! Also, I'd really like if it was something unique...not just your average iphone/sidekick that everyone seems to have e_____e

Thank you!

i wouldnt suggest smartphones unless you use it for internet and texting.

if you want something good looking and has a great camera I would recommend LG viewty or Samsung Pixon. Those are both touch screen because i think nowadays using a bar or flip cellphone with the regular keypad is a bit outdated.

Sony Ericsson's cybershot series have pretty bomb cameras. Actually, their walkman series have good cameras too nowadays. Look up Sony Ericsson W995 -- it's their walkman phone but also has a great camera.

It sounds like you just want a pretty and simple phone.
I'd recommend either the LG Secret or the LG KF510.
They're both nice looking, light up, and have the requested camera and mp3 functions.
The Secret runs just over $200, and the KF510 is around 150.

Secret.

KF510.
